The experience is pretty cool, I gave them 3 stars because they have awesome mead, they lost two stars on food!!! I got 4 different dishes and could spend a day writing about them but the worst one was the steak!!! Completely over cooked! However that's not the issues on the menu they have- "Top Sirloin $15.49 Gourmet hand-cut Angus top sirloin with your choice of 2 sides" This stay was far from a sirloin and even further from gourmet hand-cut!!! We've been coming to Handlebar regularly for about 4 years now. We've tried almost every item on their menu and have never had a bad meal. All the food is quality, fresh and seasoned well. Their burgers are amazing and while they don't have french fries, their sides are way better than plain old fries. They smoke all of their meats and the flavor is fantastic. They keep a great rotating list of craft beer on draft and in cans plus a selection of ciders and wines. They have live music some evenings and their patio is large and comfortable with lots of evap coolers generating a cool breeze. Really the only criticism would be that occasionally during the busiest times service can get a bit slow, but that is actually rare and not unexpected. We love this place and take all of our visitors from out of town here. Highly recommended! read more

I loved this place. The patio is huge, goes all the way around. Fun eclectic decor, great service, and food is legit! They have bbq, and the ribs looked amazing. We all enjoyed the shrimp skewer very much, but the pork and chips appetizer was way too sweet for my taste. There is live music 6 nights a week. They only serve beer and wine, but there is a good selection of beer to choose from. Really fun place and looking forward to coming back soon! read more

Good food but service needs a lot of attention. We got there and the greeter says, I'll be back. Leaves for 5 minutes. She comes back and then says she needs to check on tables. The place is almost empty. Another 5 minutes. Then she comes back and says she needs to check on waitress availability. I said, you're making this way too hard. If one waitress is maxed out, have the non-busy waitress adjust her table scope. Nope! Can't do that. Can't cross zone lines. OMG! Is this that complicated? We left and went somewhere that has their stuff together. BTW, two couples came in behind us and were waiting. Why remodel of you can't staff or schedule the help. $ is walking out the door! A place near here had some issues. They're going out of business this weekend. read more

I have driven by here hundreds if times and never paid much attention. The new lighting and paint is nice. When you walk in, the smells are amazing. No fryers here. The ambience is wonderful. We ordered the pretzel with cheese sauce, I liked it, but my friend did not. It was very pungent. My mushroom swiss burger and the brussel sprouts were very good. The Angus Steak sandwich isn't a steak sandwich. It is more like shredded beef. I will be back. read more

By far one of the best places to grab a bbq grilled hamburger or sandwich. They do not offer fried food so you are getting good quality food at a reasonable price! The atmosphere is great however, can feel crowded based on the layout inside. There's great outside space for eating and playing some outdoor games too! Just stopped in for first visit. Very nice greeting from staff as we walked up to entrance. They have many beers to pick from and a smaller menu due to kitchen remodeling. Everything is fresh, no deep fryers. My wife ordered nachos with smoked pork and salsa. It came to table without any salsa, or even one cut up tomato. When waitress came by we told her about missing salsa, she said they apparently forgot to make any that day. No tomatoes at that location? I ordered a hamburger and it was very good. The waitress did remove 1/2 the cost of the salad. read more

I am completely dissatisfied with my experience at the Handlebar. We hadn't eaten there since we had a poor experience there 4 years ago. Well, based on word of mouth, we decided to give it another try. I'm sorry we did. The first problem was that in their haste to serve a fancy burger, they toasted the bum to the point that it was like hard, dry, crusty bread. The meat was nothing to write home about either. No flavor. And unless you order it well done you end up with a mess that turns to mush and falls apart. When your burger must be eaten with a fork, you have failed I won't critique their sides. To each his own. The service was sub par. We were virtually alone in the place and it still took ten minutes to see a waitress. It took quite a while to get the food as well. The waitress stopped once and asked if the food was okay. But she kept walking without wait for an answer. When it was time to leave, we waited 15 minutes from the time they cleared our plates until we got our check. Never again read more

We all enjoyed a pleasant lunch outside, perfect weather. Waitress very pleasant and accommodating. Drank a nice cool hard apple cider. Ordered the Por K dip n chips, and it was delicious. Then we got our burgers. Soft bun was kind of soggy. Generous with the beer braised onions, but overall, not my favorite burger. Sides that came with, were skimpy, and mediocre at best. Grilled eggplant, smoked potato skins, ehh. Grilled Brussels sprouts were pretty good. They were proud to tell us, they don't fry anything, don't even have a fryer. Too bad, I loooove fried stuff.
