My friend got married this past Saturday and had her reception here (I was in the bridal party)…read more To start off, the bridal suite is located upstairs (which is nice because it ensures that your items are locked away and safe). The bridal suite branched off into a groom's suite as well which was amazing! We were also served some fruit, veggies, cheese and crackers and some champagne while we were waiting for the cocktail hour to start. So delicious!! The grounds are gorgeous and perfect for photos! I am excited to see how they turned out once my friend gets her pictures back. This location is absolutely stunning! The cocktail hour ran an extra half hour which was so nice and all of the food was absolutely DELICIOUS. There were so many options to choose from, it was food stations in addition to butler service walking around! I tried the popcorn chicken, the barbecue chicken, chicken & waffles, quesadilla, bacon wrapped steak and a variety of other foods I can't even remember. In addition, my friend was able to have THREE signature drinks! (The His, the Ours, and the Hers). I tried both the Ours and the Hers, and my favorite was definitely the Hers! The reception itself was beautiful, and I love that they incorporated some Polish traditions that meant a lot to the bride (as her parents and family members are all from Poland). They were extremely accommodating of the customs/traditions which was amazing! I believe the tables fit between 8-10 people, our table was at 10 (which was a little crowded) but after Dinner everyone got up to get drinks, dance, mingle, etc so it worked out fine! Typically with weddings, you have to "pre-order" your entree, but at this venue, you can order on site which was very nice! Dinner was delicious but also very filling (due to the cocktail hour food), we even had the option of ordering ANOTHER entree to try as well! In addition, there was the bride and groom's cake, PLUS a dessert that we were able to order. I think that our desserts might have gotten messed up with another table, because a lot of us ordered the peanut butter explosion, but were given some sort of cookie cup/icecream dessert. Regardless, it was still delicious and I was so full I could only eat a little of it. We had a great night and are so happy for our friend and her husband!!

Elaine, who was the front person was everything you could ask for in a hostess. I've been coming on and off to the American Legion for 35 years and I've been selling flowers in the front for Easter and Mother's Day for just as long. I asked if they could bring me another one out. They said there are no extras and that they do not serve made to order steak. Really?? Who screws fillets up? It rained so they closed the tent up. It was like being in a sauna. All the young men took their ties off and unbuttoned their shirts. How do you not have AC?? At the end of the evening when the 2 bartenders were trying to keep up with making drinks and getting the beer on ice, I overheard the one say that this group is brutal. (I'll update my review and add pictures once we get our sneak peek gallery from our photographer…read morethis Saturday!) You know how people talk about that moment you put on a wedding dress, see yourself in the mirror, then think "this is the one"? That's how we felt with Estate at Eagle Lake from the moment we saw it in person! My husband Carlo and I got married at Estate at Eagle Lake on 7/22/2023 and we can't say enough amazing things about the venue and its staff! A huge and extra special shout-out to Brianna - the venue director, day-of coordinator, and for-hire wedding planner! She made our planning process and our actual wedding day absolutely seamless and perfect. She was even so thoughtful in making sure our other vendors were well taken care of and hydrated on our wedding day. We were really trying to "ball on a budget" and we were amazed and thankful with how much we were able to plan our day based on our budget here. Catering and alcohol are separate costs from the venue, so we were able to choose an amazing caterer within our budget from their preferred vendor list and we were able to do a "beer, wine, and signature cocktails" bar instead of a full open bar to save more money. Eagle Lake also includes so many AMAZING amenities in such an affordable cost: - The ENTIRE venue for your event from 7 AM - 11 PM - SO MANY PHOTO OP LOCATIONS including the love swing, sandy beach area with Adirondack chairs and a firepit in the evening, lakeside deck, cobblestone paths, rooftop area overlooking the lake, and plenty of grassy areas with beautiful flower blooms all over - Stadium seating for a lakeside ceremony that is livestreamed by the venue if requested. We opted to do the livestream so that our family in other states and overseas could watch! - Tented reception area with air conditioners and fans (the air conditioners are new as the owner Scott is always looking to make the venue better and more comfortable for all who come!) - Romantic rooftop area for cocktail hour complete with a shaded gazebo, little basketball hoops, and koi pond - A gorgeous bridal suite with 3 full salon setups - A very cool groom's suite with a pool table upstairs that the groom and groomsmen can use while they're "getting ready" - Indoor chapel and cocktail hour space for inclement weather - Photo booth which delivers photos digitally (no print outs) - Golf carts with attendants available to drive you around the venue As if my description isn't dreamy and too-good-to-be-true enough for you to book your next event here, you have to check the website for pictures and book a tour the venue yourself to see its true beauty! Our wedding truly wouldn't have been as magical if it were anywhere other than Estate at Eagle Lake. It's truly a hidden gem. We received SO many compliments from our wedding guests and I even got some inquiries about the venue from future brides looking for a wedding venue after I was tagged by some of our guests in Facebook pictures! If Carlo and I ever plan another big event, we'll absolutely come back to Estate at Eagle Lake with no hesitation and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking to book a special event :) TIP #1: For those who plan an event here, be sure to tell your guests of the pebble paths and grass so they can wear appropriate footwear. TIP #2: If you haven't booked here yet but are interested, go to an open house so that you can meet some of the preferred vendors and potentially get a discount from them!

The highlights were definitely the food and tea. Everything was delicious, and I appreciated that my dietary restrictions were accommodated without any issues. There was also ample parking, and our server was pleasant. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was the murder mystery itself. We've attended several murder mystery dinners over the years, and this was the least engaging cast we've experienced. The acting lacked the energy and immersion we were expecting, especially considering the cost of the event. Since the performance is the main attraction, we had hoped for a much stronger production. While our server was kind, the service could have been more attentive. We had to ask for water refills and for our tea to be replenished with hot water. Those are small touches that guests should be offered rather than having to request, especially during a tea service. I was also disappointed that wine was only available by the bottle instead of by the glass. Lastly, my companion and I spent a great deal of time creating our costumes for the event. We stepped away briefly to explore one of the beautifully decorated rooms, and during that time the costume contest was held. We either didn't hear or weren't given a clear announcement before it began, so we completely missed the opportunity to participate. Better communication would have made a big difference. Overall, the venue, food, and tea were excellent, but the quality of the performance and some aspects of the service and event organization left us disappointed. With improvements in those areas, this could be a truly memorable experience.

The meal was typical banquet food. It was ok but nothing great. The hours' de overs served during the cocktail hour was fairly typical. I did enjoy the cheeses plate a lot. They included blu cheese which is a little unusual on a cheese plate but was very tasty. The decor was nice with center pieces consisting of seasonal poinsettias on each table. The service was very good as well. All in all, it was a nice event, but if I was planning something I would probably look for something with a little more affordable drink selection.

I had my wedding reception at the Princeton Elks Lodge. First, in response to John P's review…read more Typically it is the event organizer who sets the drink prices and decides on catering. At least in my experience with the Elks Club we could have chosen between cash bar, open bar, or limited bar. There was also the option to have the Elks provide the alcohol or you could provide your own alcohol. The only requirement is that you hire their bar tenders to work the event. This is related to their liquor license. I would think this $5 drink price was decided upon by the event organizer, not the Elks Club. Though I don't know the details of the event John attended. As far as the food, I do know that the Elks do sometimes cater their own events (e.g. their open mic nights). However, for outside events typically a cater is brought in by the individual or group organizing the event. So the food at each event is not reflective of the Elks Club but more so the outside cater. As I stated above, we had our wedding reception here. The aspects which sold us on the Elks was affordability, flexibility, and personal attention. As far as reception venues go this place was affordable, I believe it was the cheapest we found for what it offered. We wanted to have a fairly laid back reception and didn't want to spend a fortune. There is a bar, food serving area, dance floor, and a dinning area. In terms of flexibility, they also allow you to choose your own cater and bring in your own alcohol and food. This was important to us as we provided some of our own desserts which were special to us. We also had some folks who had dietary restrictions and we wanted to make sure they could be taken care of. They also had a generous cancelation policy in case we wanted to cancel the event. I don't recall the exact time frame to cancel but when we first put a deposit we weren't sure that we were going to have the event here as we had just started looking at venues. Ellen, who is the treasure of the Elks, also manages their schedule and coordinates events. She was one of the nicest people I have ever met and she helped our event be a success. When we first visited the venue she spent plenty of time walking us around the property and discussing what we might want for our event. She offered advice on how to organize the event and what might work best. We talked about what the Elks Club could offer and the basic costs. This was great because planning a wedding can be very overwhelming and we didn't have any previous experience planning an event like this. She was also there the night of the event to ensure everything ran smoothly and troubleshoot if any problems arose. The rest of the Elks Club members were also very nice. In terms of the venue, it is certainly not the nicest or fanciest venue around but considering the price and everything else it is 5 stars!! For example, you have to be willing to have your guests walk in and see a large Elks head staring back at them (see photo). They could be some improvements or updates in the building but I really can't complain. None of my guests minded and it was perfect for what we were looking for. The staff were beyond helpful. Also there is a large parking lot if you have a lot of guests.
