An armory is a perfect place for a DIY punk show, so why couldn't one host a flea market? The event was a success. There were plenty of vendors who were selling everything from old vinyl to thrift clothing to homemade artwork and more - all with a punk rock attitude. The venue itself is a-ok. It's obviously an old military armory, complete with a few military artifacts. I'm not sure if it's still used for military purposes, however its website advertises it can be rented out for corporate expos, tradeshows, weddings and other events. There's plenty of space for all these things, though not many bells and whistles. A note - the bathrooms are downstairs. I didn't see an elevator, so you may want to inquire about one if you think your guests may need it.

Let me start with that the food was good; very good in fact, but nothing special or to write home about. What really makes the place shine is the views, the feeling of exclusivity, and the staff. The staff is the real highlight and plays into every aspect of a great time here. You are treated as an honored guest from the minute you arrive until the minute you leave, and it is amplified if you are someone's guest they really put the effort in to treat everyone with the utmost respect and make the dining and relaxation experience at the price point that I am sure the members are paying for the opportunity. The views of the city are wonderful. Having worked a job that allowed me access to the roofs of nearly every high rise in the city, I have seen every angle and panorama of Philadelphia from up high, but the windowed seat views of the entire city while dining here are unparalleled. The good: the food and drinks were satisfying. The bad: long time lags in between courses. If a space is truly a coworking space and available for other than a 9-5 schedule then you should allow creatives and those entrepreneurs who do not work a traditional vanilla schedule the same opportunities as those who do. This is discrimination against those who do not adhere to the framework of an office type environment. Isn't the typical office type of environment that which you buck against as a non traditional type of work environment is this just marketing BS? I fullyunderstand that the front desk staff leaves at 5 as do most in other coworking entities and that safety and concern should be used in vetting your patrons. Perhaps there should be staff in the evenings then? Perhaps there should be a camera system in place? Perhaps you should be vetting your guests to ensure nighttime safety if the concern is that your work environment is or can be unsafe without supervision. Either way, it is Kismet that Kismet did not honor my free pass. The preordination, predetermination, what is to come, the writing on the wall, all those kismet-ish signs point to a space NOT meant to be sampled in real time and a space NOT suitable to create in (after 5:00 pm) unless you sign up at which point you won't know if the space is suitable to work in after 5 ( as advertised 24/7) until you have already committed. I would suggest that you change your hours or find a a way to accommodate a base of creatives in Philadelphia who would like to find a workspace to try out that does not adhere to a basic schedule but mostly, just change your hours to match your approach or your approach to match your hours and it won't come off as discriminatory. Update: Thanks for your response but I did not just call to "check" in on your pass. I hope that you are not insinuating that I did not have an actual pass. I own a property where free passes were available to those within our community. It was an actual bookmarked shaped pass with a foldable promotional card and I was genuinely excited to come see the space based on your marketing. When I called it was to verify that this was a real pass for the day. As stated, I understand the hard line take you have on security. This understanding does not make you exempt from honoring your pass or having adequate staffing. You should have the passes reprinted to say " for use between 9-5 only."

Kismet was the perfect space to host our event of about 20-30 people. The staff was so responsive…read moreand easy to work with to set up our event and made sure that the "conference" room was set up prior to our arrival with lots of chairs for our guests to listen to our guest speakers comfortably. We were able to bring our own drinks and snacks to have available for our guests, which was awesome as we do not have a large budget just yet. The event staff there the night of event was so helpful with moving furniture, sharing things with us that we forgot (like napkins!), and even helping us carry things to our car after the event. We really could not have asked for more! The Women for a Sustainable Philadelphia group will be back!

It's 3 floors, with a sitting room, dining room, and kitchen on the first floor. A hangout room on the 2nd floor and bedrooms on the 2nd and 3rd floor. There was an issue with the room we originally booked, and Candace upgraded our room for us.l before we even arrived. Our new room was great. It had two parts to it, a king-size bed, futon, and a beautiful bathroom. Candace and the Inn were also accommodating , as we booked on a third party site not realizing kids under 8 were not allowed and they allowed us to bring our 1 year old (he loved the place, too, btw). The bed portion of our bed and breakfast experience was wonderful. The con would have to be the breakfast part. So, first, we should have read their website before booking, as it does state that they serve continental breakfast during the week, and we stayed on a Monday night. As disappointed as we were, that's on us. However, what we were served wasn't even that, in my opinion. There were muffins, some grab and go granola bars, oatmeal packets, and some fruit (apples and tangerines). We were pretty disappointed in the spread. The breakfast options also stayed out all day and also played the roll of the snacks they offered. So when we arrived, the blueberry muffins and granola bars were out in the kitchen to take. We were offered the same thing for breakfast the next morning. Another reviewer stated that this felt more like an AirBnB, and I agree. I think one of the special aspects of a bed and breakfast is not only the charming atmosphere (check, they got that right) but receiving a nice breakfast in the morning. I get weekdays can be slow, so I can forgive a continental breakfast, but there should at least be some yogurt or toast or bagels or something. So, we will settle on 3 stars. The bed portion was a 4/5 star experience, but the breakfast was a 1.
