Tim is a genius! I am now on a schedule to upkeep my hair. He and I texted (and he was prompt in answering All of my messages...yep, there were a ton). Finding the salon was a little hard, but, he was watching for me and I had been texting as I approached. Tim is always prompt to the appointment. Found The Hair Forge on Yelp. Sent a message and received a reply in less than half an hour. Tim was friendly, funny, and gave me a style perfect for my hair and based on what I wanted. He took his time and was meticulous but wasn't tedious about the process. The shampoo was great, who doesn't love a good scalp massage? I don't usually know what to do with my hair, it's very fine and I am styling impaired. Tim showed me how to get the look I want without having to get a master's degree in the anatomy of a strand of hair. And to top it all off, for such a quality experience and cut, it was tremendously affordable. Bonus! Highly recommended. read more

I am very picky with salons with my bad experiences in the past. I stopped attending any salons after last horrible horrible job from my regular salon in Bay Area 5 years ago which I usually attended for three years til new owner took over and that horrible owner let all stylists included my regular go and she got horrible stylists. After that, I refused to go any salons and let my hair grow longer and longer! Three years ago, my husband and I moved down to Riverside. He encouraged me to find one in Riverside. It took me so long time. Til that The Hair Forge got my attention on yelp. I have it in my mind for so long time. Because it won me and my faith in hair salons. The first stylist was called in sick. I was panicked because of events will happen tomorrow. I need to fresh my hair after so long time no haircut or color(about five years) so I got another stylist ! The Hair Forge is now my favorite place to get my hair done. Very rustic and so personal. Definitely my style! I really like that there are only two stylists there. Christie gave me highlights in my dark hair and added some texture so my hair finally has some character. I'm so happy with how it turned out! I'm hesitant to write this review as I don't want to reveal the hidden gem that Tim is. Prior to coming to the Hair Forge I had a stylist that I loved! When she retired from the industry, I bounced around from recommendation to recommendation but was never really satisfied. I reached out to my old stylist and she said "The only person I let cut my hair is Tim". I called and made the appointment with high hopes I would find the best stylist out there. Annnd here we are at least a year later, with the BEST stylist out there! I LOVE this guy and what he does with a pair of scissors in his hand! Did a great job on my hair! I got it done ombre about a month ago and with proper care, it has stayed beautiful and not brassy! They use quality products and spend as much time as needed to make it how you want it! Like 5 hours for me! Definitely quality over quantity! Cost me $185 for virgin hair to ombre and a cut. Have to agree wholeheartedly with everyone who loves Tim and Christie, and the atmosphere at the Hair Forge. I'm in the area visiting friends after 3 months of work travel, and desperately needed a hair cut and color (full head of highlights). I found the Hair Forge through Yelp, and crossed my fingers that it would work out. It not only worked out, but I will be back anytime I am in the area! Christie did my work, she was absolutely meticulous, and I love it. I have lots of very fine hair -- it takes forever and is a pain to put into foils -- and she absolutely nailed the color to bring life to my mousey gray brown hair. She then took the time to really figure out what I needed in a cut (I didn't know). Tim was in the whole time, chatting with us between his appointments. You can really see how much both he and Christie love what they do, and personally care about each client.
