Dropped in for a bite while in Yellowstone. Menu offers pizza , pasta and sandwiches. We opted for a pizza - The crust is crisp on the bottom but thick and fluffy like a Detroit style. The sauce was quite good and just the right amount of cheese. The pepperoni was spicy and seemed like it could have used a little more. The thick crust - like pan pizza made it filling. We used to love this place. Then last October we went in and noticed new owners. They were polite at first, and my husband and son sat while I used the restroom. When I joined them, we chose our pizzas and asked her if she could add meat to one. She said, we no add items. Then we said can we do half and half pizza? She said no. We cannot do. So we looked a little longer and decided the prices were very high and if they couldn't work with us, we would just eat elsewhere. We told her thank you, we will not be eating today. As we were exiting the door, a short man came rushing at us yelling, "you use bathroom. You eat." We said no thank you. You won't work with us so we will eat somewhere else. We were very polite and calm. He continued screaming at us several more times. When we thought it would never end, he then yelled "Stupid American ASSHOLE!!" And went Inside. Walked in for a quick take out pizza after a long driving day. Greeted warmly by hostess, but once I went to order everything changed. I wanted to order a half and half pizza with The Gusher. Owner said we don't do half and half with Gusher. So I asked, ok how about half and half old faithful? He said, we don't do half and half with either pizza because my people will srew up the order. I asked, so you're telling me you won't do half and half's because your people can't make a correct order? I would rate this joint high for service and medium for food quality. I love the classic old west style, lots of wood decor, dimly lit, family oriented place welcoming in those in search of a good meal. While I only grind the pizza, other menu items looked good to the eye. The pizza, in my opinion, seemed to have skimped a bit on toppings, in this case pepperoni and cheese, but the stance and the doughy itself was good; the sauce, sweet, tastes of oregano and basil, the dough airy and soft, held up to the sauce and toppings, in fact could have used more. Say what you will about the ambience or lack there of, but the speed and quality of the food is simply impressive. The staff aren't overly friendly, but the service is very good. Everything is clearly bought from the store and heated up. Service is good but the food is mid at best. The garlic bread is just Texas toast, the pasta is heated up pasta and prego sauce, the pizza is decent at best. I would not recommend, not that it's bad it's just a waist of money. If I'm in town on a Wed I stop for the $12.95 all you can eat spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic bread. One plate fills me up and the spaghetti isn't over cooked. Worst food I've ever had. I got the chilli burger and it wasn't even a burger, it was a patty with baked beans slapped on toast with no flavor. My friend got a crispy chicken sandwich and it looked like fish fillet. Delicious food and large portions. We found this place by chance after looking for a restaurant that was open past 10:30 PM. I'm sure glad we found it. We liked it so much we ate here two nights in a row. The prices are reasonable too. The first night, I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich with potato salad. The chicken was more like a chicken patty but it was really good. The sandwich was served with all types of different condiments to out in my sandwich- red onions, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, mayo, mustard. The potato salad had hard boiled eggs and mustard in it. I was skeptical when I saw the food, boy was I wrong! The food was super fresh and very appetizing. I would happily order this again. The next night, I ordered a personal pepperoni pizza. The pizza came served with black pepper sprinkled on it. It added a nice very mild kick, especially since I forgot to ask for crushed peppers with my to go order. The food is what you'd expect from a pizza joint. They handled our group of 9 with impeccable service. They constantly came to ask if we needed anything else and the place was busy with other large parties on Father's day. The portions were perfect. Order the chicken sandwich. It was a chicken cutlet about 2.5-3 ounce, It was so small it was lost in the roll. The ketchup was spoiled and the server was pissed off that we asked for packets. She was very inpatient taking our order. The wife ordered chicken fingers and they were well done the oil was old. Never did the waitress come back to the table only took the order and finally got the check after waiting about 10 minutes. Yes, the portions were generous and the pizza was loaded with toppings. That being said, it is probably the reason why the crust was gummy and under cooked. My husband, and I rode our razor from Island Park, to West Yellowstone for the first time! Great trail, and it dropped us right into town! We decided to choose a place to get get lunch. The Gusher Special was really really really good.... fluffy crust, caramelized onions, generous amounts of sausage and ham and plenty of olives and green peppers.
