I can't really rate the food because the restaurant refused to serve me due to the presence of my service animal. Upon entering with my trained service animal and informing the staff as such, I was asked for documentation or some paperwork to confirm it. I tried to explain the applicable federal law, but staff nevertheless refused to serve me and told me to leave. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, service animals are not required to wear a vest, harness, identification, certification, or other special equipment identifying them as service animals. Businesses may ask only two questions when the need for a service animal is not apparent: whether the animal is required because of a disability and what work or task the animal has been trained to perform. They may not invent additional requirements such as mandatory service-dog vests or certification paperwork. My service animal was under my control and was not disruptive, aggressive, or creating a legitimate safety issue. The reasons given for refusing service were that I did not have paperwork proving the service animal status.. People with disabilities should not have to argue federal disability law at the entrance of a restaurant simply to receive the same service offered to everyone else. I hope management takes this seriously, educates its staff on the ADA's service-animal requirements, and corrects its policies so another service-animal handler does not encounter the same treatment. read more

I got confused on pizza places and thought this was Pete's which has great reviews. We sat down, I used the restroom and on the way back to the table noticed that the pizza on other people's tables looked horrible. Like cardboard with rubbery glop on it. I pulled it up on Yelp and saw that it had terrible reviews. We apologized and said that we were going somewhere else. Then the man and woman who owned it demanded that we either eat there or pay them $5 for using the restroom. It was bonkers but clearly I wasn't going to eat there!! The sauce was quite good and just the right amount of cheese. The pepperoni was spicy and seemed like it could have used a little more. The thick crust - like pan pizza made it filling. I would rate this joint high for service and medium for food quality. I love the classic old west style, lots of wood decor, dimly lit, family oriented place welcoming in those in search of a good meal. While I only grind the pizza, other menu items looked good to the eye. The pizza, in my opinion, seemed to have skimped a bit on toppings, in this case pepperoni and cheese, but the stance and the doughy itself was good; the sauce, sweet, tastes of oregano and basil, the dough airy and soft, held up to the sauce and toppings, in fact could have used more. Walked in for a quick take out pizza after a long driving day. Greeted warmly by hostess, but once I went to order everything changed. I wanted to order a half and half pizza with The Gusher. We used to love this place. Then last October we went in and noticed new owners. They were polite at first, and my husband and son sat while I used the restroom. When I joined them, we chose our pizzas and asked her if she could add meat to one. She said, we no add items. Then we said can we do half and half pizza? She said no. We cannot do. So we looked a little longer and decided the prices were very high and if they couldn't work with us, we would just eat elsewhere. We told her thank you, we will not be eating today. As we were exiting the door, a short man came rushing at us yelling, "you use bathroom. You eat." We said no thank you. You won't work with us so we will eat somewhere else. Everything is clearly bought from the store and heated up. Service is good but the food is mid at best. Delicious food and large portions. We found this place by chance after looking for a restaurant that was open past 10:30 PM. I'm sure glad we found it. We liked it so much we ate here two nights in a row. The prices are reasonable too. The first night, I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich with potato salad. The chicken was more like a chicken patty but it was really good. The sandwich was served with all types of different condiments to out in my sandwich- red onions, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, mayo, mustard. The potato salad had hard boiled eggs and mustard in it. I was skeptical when I saw the food, boy was I wrong! The food was super fresh and very appetizing. I would happily order this again. The next night, I ordered a personal pepperoni pizza. The pizza came served with black pepper sprinkled on it. It added a nice very mild kick, especially since I forgot to ask for crushed peppers with my to go order. Yes, the portions were generous and the pizza was loaded with toppings. That being said, it is probably the reason why the crust was gummy and under cooked.
