Selection was okay but the prices are insanely high compared to market price, some over double the price

Front and back with free to play arcade games means you can make a bit of time of it, hit the nearby brunch then wander down either memory or fandom lanes. A good showing here and well curated that shows they get it, without seeming like they're "too" interested in the odd hyper price hike cash grab in the space in some of the fandom frenzy areas. Pleasant surprise for a very simple expectation on the outside.

There's everything from comic books and figures to games from Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Warhammer, and anything else you can think of. Some comic books are cheaper than on Amazon. I bought some on Amazon as gifts, only to realize after that, this place has them cheaper! I was just browsing and didn't have any questions or requests from the staff, but based on interactions with others, they know their stuff. This is not a surface-level, small store where they display a tiny collection. They have almost everything. I think that's the most important thing you need to know about this place. I did notice the retro consoles and games like the SNES are priced quite steeply here. They are rare to come by in Northern Virginia, so I'd expect that.

Mehdi was super patient and personable while I picked out cards and I felt welcomed the whole time. When I got home that evening, I noticed one of the cards had a minor defect and the store was more than happy to hear me out and make sure I was satisfied and taken care of. When I stopped back in Eric and Mehdi were amazing in helping me and making sure I left satisfied. Other than the awesome customer service, they have a huge selection of singles from various card games like One Piece, Magic, Pokemon and so on as well as tons of sealed product as well and the prices are very fair. Highly recommend stopping in and supporting this store if you live in the area.

When we walked in, I was initially struck by how friendly the workers were. There were several children in the shop and they were so enthusiastic, kind, and helpful to the questions, comments, and stories the children were sharing. My husband had a great time browsing the comic book aisles while my toddler enjoyed picking out a little book fos us to read at home (over, and over, and over again!). My elementary school aged kid loved all the little toys and we couldn't resist purchasing a cute banana cat trinket to hang on her backpack. Aside from being family friendly, Gaming Giant are huge supporters of the Pokemon Club that is held at my child's school. They donate tons of toys, collectibles, and cards that are raffled off at every meeting. I love a business that stands behind community. Instead of purchasing Pokemon cards at Target, I'll be grabbing at this locally-run store instead!

While at Fair Lakes Shopping Center yesterday I saw a Hobby Lobby. I'd never been in a Hobby…read moreLobby. So as an artist I came in to see what art supplies they carried. For this review, I will stay away from the controversies Hobby Lobby has been embroiled in, but note that the owners' conservative beliefs are off-putting to many people. The first thing I noticed at Hobby Lobby were the long checkout lines (only a couple lanes were open). The second thing I noticed was the loud elevator music featuring saxophones. The third thing I noticed was the weird cluttered layout. There really aren't any main aisles, it's basically a rabbit warren filled with cheap crafts and an overabundance of religious tchotchkes. Again, I came in to see their art supplies. I did see a row or two with a decent selection of canvases, but zero other art supplies. I saw one row with hobby paints, but that doesn't count. From what I could tell, there are no public restrooms. That doesn't seem very Christian to me. But maybe it was an oversight on my part, that Hobby Lobby does have restrooms and I just missed them. Upon leaving the store, I noticed the checkout lines had barely moved. Other than the fact that I don't live anywhere near this location, I have no motivation to ever shop at Hobby Lobby. Michael's is a much better arts and crafts supply store. Though, if I want to purchase art supplies, Plaza and Blick are my best bets.

Prices are comparable to other arts and crafts stores but i do find Hobby Lobby has better selections. Plus there is almost always promotions so make sure to check for promo codes and coupons for additional savings. The day I visited; I need to get some fabric and after deciding on the one I wanted; I had to walk around the area to find some help. After I was able to find a staff member; I asked for some assistance in the fabric department. She complained that it wasn't her department and that i should ring the bell that was on the counter. She could see that i was taken back by her response so she quickly quipped fine!... she'll help me. She ended up cutting 5 yards of fabric for me that took less than 2 minutes to do. I think this store needs more staff and more customer service training.

The website even displays logos for the major gaming companies, which gave me confidence that my items would be considered. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. I brought two Xbox systems to trade in: an Xbox One X White Special Edition and an Xbox One S with a 1TB hard drive. After arriving, the employee informed me that they were no longer accepting Xbox trade-ins because Xbox products were "not selling well." He also mentioned that I should have called ahead first. This was surprising, as there was no indication of this policy change on their website, which clearly indicate that trade-ins are accepted and it was the main reasons I made the long trip to the store. During the interaction, I also noticed an Xbox One console for sale in the store. When I mentioned this, the employee explained that it was a special edition. I responded that, given the price it was listed at, it might be difficult to sell. Additionally, after briefly inspecting my systems, the employee incorrectly stated that my Xbox One X was a digital edition. I had to point out that it clearly has a disc drive and is in fact the white special edition model. Overall, the experience felt dismissive and unprofessional, especially after explaining that I had driven a long distance specifically because the store advertised trade-ins. If the store has changed its trade-in policies, it would be very helpful to update that information online so customers do not waste their time making unnecessary trips. This was my first experience with Arcana's, and unfortunately it will likely be my last.
