Stayed at Northshore Austin (2nd and San Antonio...not the address listed here) as a guest through The Guild. I loved every minute of it. Way better bang for your buck than renting a hotel. We got a 1 bedroom with a den that had a queen bed. Although the den did not have an actual door or privacy, what we got in amenities made up for it. There was a weird incident where we walked in on 2 employees who appeared to be engaged in gratuitous acts moments before we attempted to open the door. Although, maybe we were mistaken...we all just got an odd vibe from the two employees (one behind a closed bedroom door we found after talking with the first employee for over 5 minutes) and the other changing the password on the lock (from the inside of the room?--/he had to exit to do this after we entered the room). We had requested an early check in, so it was weird to find anyone hanging out there, playing "peek-a-boo" with grown guests at the initial check in. But the final total for a 4 night stay amounted to $1741.90...and considering the location...the amenities...the layout of the room...it was worth it! Just a warning: while the rooms are equipped with full kitchens, there aren't basic items like salt, oil, cutting boards (although one was brought to us after a text) to do any substantial cooking. But, who doesn't love a room where you can actually wash laundry BEFORE heading home? read more

My husband and I visited Austin this past weekend for a friend's wedding and spent three nights at the guild at the Arnold on East 6th. Originally I booked through an online travel site and minutes after I received a text from the Guild. After chatting with an agent they informed me that by booking direct I could get a deal and I canceled my original booking and booked directly through them with a savings around $250. I had a few questions prior to arriving and every time I texted an agent I received an answer almost immediately. This type of communication continued throughout our stay. The accommodations were pristine. I am extremely picky and honestly was nervous about staying here as it isn't our typical type of accommodations when we travel, but I could not have been happier. The apartment was huge. It was spotless and everything looked brand new. While we didn't cook there, the kitchen was fully stocked with what you would need to make a meal. There was a French press! There were extras like coffee, hot sauce, tampons; they thought of everything you might not have thought of. We spent hours listening to the eclectic record collection thy provided, so fun! Also, the neighborhood was super cool. We ate from some crazy good food trucks (rolling smoke, bomb tacos), checked out an awesome dive bar (the white horse) and found it completely walkable to the downtown area. My only regret is there aren't guilds outside of Texas! Thanks for a great stay! read more

STAY AWAY. I booked 5x rooms at the Guild City Center for my friend's bachelorette party last spring. After some vague communication with the sales manager, Robert, I thought we were all set. I emailed him twice to confirm our reservation the week before, with no response. Then, I received an email the morning we were supposed to check in that they had overbooked the Guild City Center (which we had planned all activities around, location-wise), and they were moving us to a different location. They said they'd be giving us more, bigger rooms to compensate. I reluctantly agreed because I had 15 women arriving to Austin that afternoon and didn't have time to find another hotel. When we arrived at the other location, we found that the conditions really, really sucked: - One of our rooms didn't have a blanket for the pull out couch, which really sucked for the girl who had to sleep there the first night - Room 315 was a queen, not a king like we were told it would be - The fan in room 321 was clanging throughout the whole stay and was very annoying - We had no trash bags or extra paper towels in any of the rooms, and when we requested extra trash bags, we were told we would get them the next day. We had brought in BBQ for dinner so I'm sure you can imagine how the room smelled throughout the night. After our stay, I relayed the above to Robert and he offered a steep discount to compensate for all the problems. I told him then (8/23/19) to charge my card. I followed up 3x times with him to make sure my card was being charged because I didn't see it on my statement yet. I finally was charged in NOVEMBER. I called the Guild AGAIN to try to see what was going on, and was told they would see what happened and call me back. They never called me back. I don't know what kind of business they are running, but I would never work with them again. The level of professionalism is abysmal. read more

We recently had a terrible experience with this company. We reserved a two bedroom apartment weeks ago, and were alerted via a vague email just two weeks before our that they overbooked two bedroom apartments and that they replaced our reservation with two, one bedroom units. We are traveling with small children, so this was not an acceptable option. How they overbooked and did not realize it for over a month is puzzling to me. Now we are left to scramble to find another place to stay on a very short timeline. I would not recommend this company. read more

Ok, Think apartment building with dark hallways and really high ceilings (an industrial feel), in an area being gentrified. Sounds a little imposing, (and is but...), worth it. You are renting a unit in an apartment. Ours worked out great, high security which is weird but comforting. We paid 20 bucks to park. Here's a description concrete floors, high ceilings modern amenities kitchen was great unit was really clean. Vinyl record player. Comfortable beds/bedding. (We had a two bedroom). It had a washer dryer. Television had Netflix. The photos we saw advertised a cityscape with big deck out your balcony, this was not our experience. Getting here: truth is I made a simple system difficult, but they were really chill about it. When we arrived I asked for a lot of help, and got all I needed. When I don't stay in a hotel I miss the convenience of a restaurant or food source. This place has a cool little Bodega attached to the building called the Bee grocery. It's cute with a bakery and coffee shop little selection of wine and beer and incidentals. The have a nice little sandwich style menu and really good baked good (daily) have the coffee too. There are Restaurants and Bars on the street but might be ahead of the gentrification. read more

So all hotels in Austin were booked and stress from bombings was high and I really struggled to find a hotel room after all flights were canceled because of a storm in DC. This is when I found this gem. Brand new building , small studio apartment, very retro furnishings ( which I loved ) and a vinyl player in the room . Check in was great , no staff was little strange but everyone was communicating via text which I prefer anyway . Great place and very friendly people . read more

Awesome, awesome, awesome place!! The place was clean, tidy, and trendy. Great spot. There is a kink that needs to be worked out. You park your car in the gated area which requires a key fob to get access to, but you must leave your key fob in the room when you check out. If you forgot that, you're just kind of stuck. I had to have the maintenance man let me down. It would be nice if the guest parking spots were outside of the gated area so that it doesn't become an issue for people leaving in a hurry. If you don't find someone to let you down, you have to go down, move your car outside the gate, go back up to your room (leave your fob), and then back down. Other than that, this place was FAR better than a hotel in the same area. read more

The Guild thought of everything, within reason, even the hand soap smelled awesome. Pricing was reasonable , and I didn't feel like needed anything during my visit that wasn't in the apartment. The only question left unanswered was "hey where do I park?", however there is plenty of free parking at the S Lamar Union Apartment location, I still had to ask the people in the front office to be sure, who by the way are super helpful and nice! read more

What a great location, if you have the ability/personal strength to walk through the homeless camp underneath the freeway to 6th Street. We are from Portland, OR, so it isn't a big deal. All you do is this: Walk by. Say hello. Be polite. Stay strong. Check in at the hotel and ALL communication was very easy and swift. You cannot beat the price for what you get, both with the accommodations and the location. I will definitely stay there again. The bed was super comfy, the location/price was perfect, and was had ZERO issues. We hoped to check in early and were notified shortly after noon that we could check in. Was in TX doing the rounds (Dallas, Austin, Houston) w/my family two weekends ago and my dad coordinated our stay at The Guild a.k.a Corazon (signage). Since he booked everything we weren't sure what to expect (he's a frugal dude and doesn't often go "top shelf" in his choices, so o know we were getting a good deal) but WOW, we were all totally blown away! The building itself is located super close to (dirty) 6th street, which is just a short ride from the main 6th street scene, plus there's a bunch of cute eateries and coffee spots jut a stones throw. Parking was easy (but only free after midnight!) and getting access to the property was well organized and instructed (the place is locked up like Fort Knox). The space we stayed in was a 2 bed, 1 bath with a balcony that butts up to the pool. Everything was spotless and perfectly curated to give you that artsy Austin feel, from the polished concrete floors and stainless steel appliances to the record player WITH records! My dad was in love at first site and immediately jumped on that with a Hendrix record. My only negative is I wished were were staying longer! Had we been in Austin for several days this would be the perfect home base due to location and amenities. Will DEFINITELY make a point to come back here next time I'm ever in Austin. read more

Better than any hotel! We stayed in the largest size room available and could comfortably sleep 4. Service was astounding, Dylan sent us a quick survey a few days before asking what time we would arrive, how many were staying, and if they could do any grocery shopping for us...what?!? Sure enough our requested Coke was there when we arrived and additionally they texted the day of our arrival and stocked a couple of our favorite beers in the fridge. Just above and beyond. Aside from service the room is large in size with a full kitchen with washer and dryer for use, great value for the money. I'll recommend to anyone who comes to Austin! read more

I'll preface this by saying I live at this building and am not a guest. I can't find anywhere to lodge a complaint against the guild as a resident, so I'm posting here. I pay a decent amount to live in this apartment building, and one of the reasons I chose it is because it was a complex for adults, not families. I don't have children and would prefer to be able to relax in my complex's amenities without having to deal with someone else's poorly-behaved children. I don't have anything against kids, I just enjoy having somewhere to go where I don't have to be around them. For the third straight day this week, I have come to the pool to relax in the mid afternoon, only to find screaming, splashing children whose parents don't want to deal with them because they're on vacation. In addition, you have to deal with the occasional bachelor or bachelorette party that doesn't mind making a scene because they know they'll never see any of these people again (there are residents who do the same thing from time to time, but at least I know who to contact and how it will be dealt with if that happens). It's obnoxious, and its detracts from the experience of being given a resident at The Arnold. Edit: I should clarify that my issue isn't with the so much with the children, but with the parents who allow them to behave this way and the fact that the guild seemingly does nothing to prevent this or enforce the existing pool regulations. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the University Park location and I just wanted to say this is the BEST "hotel" we have ever stayed at! The service they provide is awesome! I'm so sad we had to leave, but we will 100% sure be back! They provided smart TVs in the living room and room, there was a sofa bed in the living room and an extra comforter and pillows, a washer and dryer, they even had mini packets of Cholua hot sauce (my bfs fav), mini packs of vinegar, olive oil, pots pans, baking utensils, soap for the dish washer, paper towels and there was even dispensers in the bathroom with body wash, shampoo and conditioner. The ONLY things we had to get were food and laundry soap. And if we needed groceries before we got there they even offer to stock your fridge (small charging fee on top of groceries). The service was fast, I just texted them every time I needed something. The last guest that stayed in our room stole the pots and pans and iron but we got them right away like they said! They delivered them for us. They also have great amenities like the pool, club room, business center (I had to go print movie tickets) here), and even an awesome roof deck! What I loved the most was we weren't bothered or anything (like a hotel) unless we needed something. My boyfriend even forgot his watch from his dad (very sentimental to him) and we drove like an hour back after we checked out and they still let us in the room, our code for the door expired so we called and she unlocked it right then. I will never wanna stay at a normal hotel again! This was one of the best parts of our trip to Austin. read more

Let me help y'all out. This place is also known as the Corazon Apartments. The Guild is what they call the excess rooms that are vacant because the apartment complex is so awful. Quick Summary 1. Loud construction is occurring on three of four sides of the building, the earliest begins promptly at 4:45 am on the south side of the Corazon and is known as the Saltillo Plaza. Estimated to be complete Fall 2019. 2. Formerly an apartment complex, now a hybrid apartment complex/air-bnb/"Boutique Hotel" 3. Roaches 1. Scheduled to run through 2019, the construction of the Saltillo Plaza starts no later than 5:00 am everyday. How they can start before the 7:00 am city noise ordinance, I do not know. The building management and city are apathetic. I will try to post video, the level of noise is indescribable. Trucks idling, reversing and honking. Cranes picking up and dropping materials. Workers yelling and playing music. It is a scene to behold. 2. Due to the fact that this place has been run so poorly, vacancy has increased. As a result, management began renting out spare rooms on booking . com. Google it, you will see. As a result, the apartment complex has a rotating group of strangers inter-mixed with residents. As you would suspect, the apartment gets treated like a hotel by these guests. The result is drunken strangers wandering the hall and a lack of respect for quiet hours. 3. Big, fast Texas roaches. Maybe that is just a problem wherever you go in Central Texas. Oh well, at least you will never be alone. read more

Love the virtual concept although it was a bit of a scavenger hunt at first. Once settled in the place was great. I felt like I had my own apartment downtown for a few days. Will def stay again when I visit Austin. Didn't get 5 stars because 2 elevators were not working and the parking gate to exit wasn't working. read more

This was my first stay at a Guild location and I loved it! It's a little different than a hotel in that the rooms are located in a residential apartment complex and there is no check-in desk. Check-in and communication was super easy via text though - I kind of prefer that, anyway. Upon arrival, I realized I'd made a mistake when I booked my room and thought I had booked larger accommodations. Once I got into the smaller room, I texted my issue to Jaimi who was able to get me into a larger, two-bdrm room asap. Both rooms were super clean and came with the same amenities you'd find in any typical hotel - shampoo, conditioner, coffee, free wi-fi, etc (plus a full size kitchen with frosty mugs in the freezer!). The beds and pillows were super fluffy and comfy and the bath towels were nicer than I've had in fancy hotels. The room decor was Austin-themed and totally adorable. Only con was the noise from construction taking place across the street during business hours, (which is a temporary issue) but they had that covered as well! They provided two sets of earplugs in case you're sensitive to the noise (I was not). I'd absolutely recommend this "hotel" and can't wait to have another reason to travel and stay in another Guild property (or this one again)! read more

This apartment worked out great for me. The location was perfect and the one bedroom was spacious and impeccably clean. All of the appliances were pristine and supplies were generous. The only thing I had to buy was coffee. There is construction in the area that seems to indicate the area is coming around. There were enough small shops and stores within walking distance to accommodate my needs. Was happy to find a Pilates studio nearby, too! The only downside are the acoustics. The shape of the complex? building materials? Anyway, I could hear conversations of folks at the pool and on their ground floor patios even though I was on the 6th floor. However, I was not inconvenienced or disturbed during the nighttime hours by this at all. read more

The staff was helpful and the pool was the perfect relief to the Texas heat. And the bed! I just loved everything about the Guild! When I made the reservation they right away made it all about me! They inquired about what I wanted and would make my stay special! Wow! I just loved that. Communication and online service is outstanding. The after hours check in process worked for me, and I felt very safe. The apartment was spotless, huge and so spacious! High ceilings with great natural light. Decor new and so attractive. Bathroom is huge with all kinds of those special items available. Great balcony that looked out to an amazing pool with huge gas grills we took full advantage of! Hammocks and great lounge chairs out there as well. East Austin is so special and still remains unique. Close to everything. Just loved the area and a market with everything around the block! I think this place is best described as a cross between a hotel and air bnb. You're staying in an apartment but you're renting it from a company, not an individual person. The room is a very fair price, especially relative to any hotel nearby, and is walking distance to the conference center and sixth street. It is nice to have a kitchen for a multi-night stay so you don't have to go out for every meal so I would hands down say this is better than staying at a hotel. On the other hand, you won't get your bed made every day or new towels brought to your room so if you care about that sort of thing. I never had a chance to use the gym but I hear there's one of those and the pool area looks nice. Really, nothing to complain about here, just a nice room in the heart of Austin for a very reasonable price. Glad I found this place! read more

I recently stayed at The Guild on E. 6th and had a fantastic experience. This was definitely better than staying at a hotel, and certainly a better value when you consider all of the extra space that you get. The apartment was clean, comfortable and decorated very nicely and getting in and out of the building was very easy. The only complaint that I have is that the booking process needs to be more transparent - they have an online check-in process where you have to send them a picture of your ID and your face. I was totally sketched out by this at first because there is nothing on their website that says anything about it, but regardless I went through with it. I would recommend they let potential guests know about that in advance. Overall it was a great experience and they really do a great job to make you feel like a local. If I'm ever in Austin I would stay with them again. read more

Mark this down as a 3 for now, probably a 5 once the construction next door stops, at least if you're on that side of the building. Waking up at 7am every weekday to insanely loud construction, even with a noise machine we brought along was really the only negative, but if I'm being honest, I don't know that I would stay here again, at least on that side of the building, until that's over. Only other very minor complaint is that on busier days you can be waiting for the elevator for a while, so we just used the stairs often. With that being said, first and foremost, the staff/service here is top-notch. All communication was done via text, but they're great about checking-in and when we mentioned the construction, they dropped off earplugs which was better than nothing. We also had an issue our last night with the smoke/Co2 detector doing that low battery chirp, which in an open room with concrete walls, apparently makes quite a loud noise! It was certainly no fault of the Guild's, but of course it would start at 11:15pm at night on Sunday instead of earlier in the day. I texted the same number I had been using for correspondence, and thank the lord they had someone on-call for the evening. They said they didn't have anyone to replace the batteries, but we could move rooms. We were mostly packed up, so that wasn't a huge issue and we took them up on the offer. I was just hoping and praying someone would actually answer the text that late on a Sunday and was super grateful they were on top of it. East Austin has been our favorite neighborhood we've visited and this location is superb. Breweries, cool shops, restaurants and food trucks around every corner. It's also a quick rideshare to most other parts of the city and a nice walk to Micklethwait Craft Meats and that area. Everyone we ran into in the building, including the other full-time residents were super nice. We somehow didn't know about it until we arrived, but there was a pool and a very nice gym, that I assume guests can use? Bed was really comfortable, smart TV was nice to have, as well as amenities like a fridge, oven, coffee maker with complimentary local coffee. All-in-all, it's a great place, the construction next door is just a bit much at the moment.. though I guess if you have to be up that early for work or something anyway, you won't sleep through your alarm! read more

No parking garage instruction, two elevators down, had to walk a mile to get to a working elevator and then another to our room. This unit has dirty and dingy carpet in the room. Who has carpet anymore? So gross! We've really enjoyed our stays at the other Guild locations but this one ruined it. Not risking it again. read more

Best way to visit Austin! Forget a hotel and book the Guild. We loved our huge 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment. Modern, floor to ceiling windows, view of UT, full kitchen w/ coffee maker and local coffee. Great location in walking distance to shops, cafes, restaurants. We will definitely stay here next time we are in Austin. For those who aren't tech savvy, the check-in process might be a little challenging and frustrating. They are very progressive in the way check-in/check-out works so be patient with the process. read more

Such a great stay for our first time to Austin. You don't feel like you're staying in a "hotel". The room was a great size with a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. The location was perfect walking distance to a lot or a short uber ride to other parts of Austin. Every staff member I spoke with was extremely friendly and accommodating. You'll have no problem getting in touch with the staff because they are very prompt with their response time and can handle everything via phone. Would totally book here again. read more

Talk about an awesome Austin experience. The Guild at the Arnold gave us a complete apartment. Not like a hotel suite...an apartment with two bedrooms and the rare comfortable sofa bed. Full kitchen that the cool grocery store on site will stock for you and really nice linens and towels. There is a great taqueria about a half mile down the road called Joes that has the best Mexican breakfast I've had ever. Home made tortillas. Just about a mile from the big bar and music zone, the awesome shopping zone, and a ton of great restaurants. Bars, coffee shops and restaurants all around. Really a lucky choice that I can't recommend enough. read more

The room was amazing, everything we wanted. The check in/check out process was seamless, step by step instructions made everything as simple as can be. The location was extremely secure, I felt 100% safe the entire stay. The building was a hop, skip, and a jump from downtown (literally). The QR code to scan me out during my final departure was either never delivered, or I lost it in my drunken stupor (post concert). Either way, a new one was delivered to my room within 15 min of one quick and easy phone call. I love this set up, and all my future stays in Austin will be here! If I had to complain about one thing, it would be the view from the room, construction next door wasn't exactly a pleasant sight but that can't be controlled! Parking garage available to park your car, reasonably priced. If you have any questions, they communicate via text message promptly. They have nice amenities: gym, swimming pool, and the clubhouse. I've stayed at three Guild Austin locations (University Park, Downtown, and most recently at East 6th), and each stay has been marvelous. Their attention to detail is phenomenal (special request: I asked for a photo of Prince. Lo and behold, two photos of His Royal Badness were on the nightstands when I arrived.) Excellent, responsive service via text (hi, Brandon!). And it's hard to go wrong with a washer-dryer in each unit to clean your clothes before heading home (Tide pods included!). You truly live like a local. And I've lived so much like a local I've decided to move to Austin. read more

This place is seriously AMAZING! I wish I had discovered it much sooner, as I love spending weekends in Austin. Secure parking garage, awesome pool, a full kitchen, wi-fi connection, grocery store next door, cute bars and coffee shop across the street AND walking distance to 6th and Rainey Street? You truly can't get any better. The personalized service from the concierge(Ben was great!) and not having to deal with standing in line at a front desk made it much more enjoyable than a hotel. The bathroom has shampoo, conditioner, body wash and the kitchen had everything we needed should we want to cook! There was even a blender for us to make margaritas.
