I have been going there for a while. Will not go back. i picked my dog up noticed one nail was not trimmed ask what happened no one called me with a problem. Her nail cracked tried super gluing it I ask should I take her to a vet i Was told I would before it got infected make a long story short she had to have emergency surgery for the nail. I just had the worst experience with Grooming Gals. When I first came in I was physically grilled by all of the employees. I proceeded to give them my dogs name and the one lady with glasses and thin blonde hair said that my appt was at 1:00p and I came in too late at 1:35p. I expressed that I thought my appt was at 1:30p. The lady said it did not matter and she mentioned they called me and left a voicemail at 1:16p saying that I could come at 1:30p but 1:35p (the time that I arrived) was too late. However, numerous employees were relaxing and eating around dogs. She looked at me very mean like. She looked at me like I was the worst person for coming late to an appt that I thought was at 1:30p. How can you be upset at a customer because of a miscommunication. Wow. I never received this type of customer service before. I don't know if it was my appearance/look that threw this particular worker off, because she was very rude to me. I really do not appreciate the customer service that I received being a client for 4 yrs and I will not be going back. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE !!! My dog looks like she got beat up and I know it's from them because someone posted similar pics! In the same areas on their dog. Whoever is doing cuts needs to be FIRED. I have a maltipoo and they cut her all the way down and cut her all over and now she looks like an abused chihuahua. During my initial call with these people I told them that my dog gets really nervous as he is being groomed. They told me not to worry about it and that he will be okay. I have a Bichon. My dog was matted and we shared that with them. We called to ask how things were going after a few hours and she told me that he is impossible to cut. Upon my arrival my dog looked hurt and terrible. He was bleeding from his ear. He had cuts underneath his body as well. They are terrible. I recommend not taking your dog there at all. They are not equipped to take care of your pup. read more

I was actually surprised to see some negative reviews for The Grooming Gals. I've had such positive experiences with them. I found them a few months ago when joint problems were making it hard for me to bath my dog. They have done a great job for me each time we've gone, and my senior dog starts acting like a puppy as soon as we pull in the parking lot, because she loves the people who work there so much that she gets so excited to see them that she can't contain her excitement. I was actually thinking of going to another place - not because of anything wrong with this place but just because I found a place eight blocks from my house and wanted to save myself the drive. But, when I went yesterday my dog was so overjoyed to be there that her vote won. If they make my dog this happy, then I know she's safe and being treated well while she's there, so they're stuck with us now. read more

The Grooming Gals are the first people in 12 years that ever said my dog needed to be "shaved" because his mats could not be brushed out. It isn't true; they can be brushed out. When I called to check on him they said he had just been washed and was being dried and they would let me know about whether they could brush through the mats. I said they could be cut off if not brushed out. Five minutes later they called and said that he HAD not been bathed or brushed and "was struggling to breathe" and I needed to come get the dog now. It was also 45 minutes until they closed and although they had him for 3 hours they hadn't started on him yet. I say this is the real reason they wanted him picked up. Liars and the laziest rudest groomers I have encountered in 22 years of having dogs groomed. Do not recommend. read more

I'd like to start my review by saying understand that my dog was not properly behaved during his appointment and I feel terrible about that. But, there's one thing that lingers with me. He's about to be two years old and has seen a different groomer about every 3 months of his life since he was 10 weeks old. I switched due the the convenience of the location of Grooming Gals and I was told that he was aggressive, bit/scratched the groomer (which I did see he scratched her and I was petrified) and they recommended that he should be medicated if he ever came back, etc. Mind you, the place he had been his entire life only had good things to say about him and how sweet he was. Yes, I saw he did scratch the groomer, and I believe he wasn't at his best behavior. But, for a dog that has been groomed many times saying he was great, I find it hard to believe it was all his fault. I do not recommend this place and I truly hope everyone else has a better experience. I was so upset over what happened to me/him and felt stupid and misjudged. I hope anyone else has a better outcome, but I feel like I need to stick up for my baby boy and that this was not all his fault. Not to mention the fact he had the WORST haircut I've ever seen and cost almost double the price of where he's gone his entire life! read more

They always do a wonderful job on my dog! The staff are all very friendly they listen & ask what you want done, it's always clean and organized, and most important you can make an appointment within a day or two. Don't have to wait days or weeks....I usually wait until my dog is way over do for an appointment and they get me in that day or next. I highly recommend them to anybody and their pooch! . read more

Took our dog to this place on Cheviot Road in Monfort Heights. When we picked her up she looked awful. She is a very expensive dog that has a certain look and needs to be groomed the way her breed looks instead she was shaved ALMOST RIGHT DOWN TO THE SKIN. The features that her breed have around the eyes and mouth were completely gone AWFUL. Since she has been home won't stop scratching herself probably will have to call the Vet. I am wondering what my dog went through at this place. Then they quoted one price on the phone and when I picked her up it was a higher price WHAT? If you want your dog to come home looking like a skin head then go here. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT. They have no idea how to groom a dog at least they did not know what my dog's breed should look like. NOT A GOOD PLACE. read more

These folks do a really good job. My dog is extremely afraid of being caged, so they arrange for us to take him and pick him up within an hour so that he doesn't have to be put in a cage. He always comes home looking great. Prices are reasonable. read more

After taking my dog to Petsmart grooming for a while, I decided I would rather support a local business. After some google searching, I came across the Grooming Gals and decided to give them a try. I'm so happy I did! Everyone there was super nice and they were able to get me in within a day or two. At Petsmart for just a basic bath and brush, my dog would be there for 2-2.5 hours. I took her to the Grooming Gals for a full haircut and she was only there for 1-1.5 hours (which made me feel a lot better because that gives me the impression that she might've spent quite a bit of time sitting in a cage at Petsmart). To top it all off, it ended up being cheaper than Petsmart and my dog looked great! I would definitely recommend the Grooming Gals to anyone. Support this great local business! read more
