Small, fast paced Carryout only restaurant. Food is really good and unique. I especially like their kale seasonal desserts he offers.

I don't get it. Based on some reviews, I took a chance ordering delivery from Door Dash. First time ordering, and it will be the LAST!!! Ordered the chicken platter and added steak to it. The chicken and steak pieces were the size of my baby fingernail and they were tasteless and dry. Rice was al dente and the sauce was horrible. Very few vegetables and something tasted sweet...perhaps it was the sauce... I don't know. It was awful!!! The platter, a side of cabbage, tax and tip, cost almost $39. The itself restaurant is clean and cozy. The highlight, though, is the food. Their lamb wrap was thrilling. Was in the area for my son's hair appointment, drove all the way home (which is about an hour away) and to my son's surprise when he started eating his food it was fish and not chicken tenders. We waited so long, and my best friend never got her chicken wrap or chicken tender platter so she asked for a refund. While we set and waited prior to requesting for a refund, many customers came in and was waiting forever as well, getting the wrong order and order was never even started. There were two young cashiers (girl and boy) who were sweet but not properly trained on how to handle the front. They kept answering the phone taking on more orders but not addressing the customers in front of them. One customer actually said to them, "yall need to stop answering the phone and get these orders straight of who is here". They only had the standard platters and wraps left - and while it was a weekend, it was not late in the evening (which I would totally understand). I used to see this businesses food truck pop up on my IG feed, so I had some familiarity with the brand. Tonight, I was determined to support local, small, and minority owned was a bonus! In support of #YelpsBigNightIn I ordered delivery. My eyes are always larger than my stomach. I ordered the seafood pasta, macaroni and cheese, rotisserie chicken wings and sweet potato cheese pie. The seafood pasta is a hefty portion. The ingredients on Uber identify crab, shrimp, and mussels, but there were no mussels included with my order. I was so pleasantly pleased with the amount and freshness of the jumbo lump crab and shrimp that I didn't even miss what would have been the addition of mussels. The rotisserie chicken wings were cooked well done (if you don't enjoy your chicken prepared this way you may not enjoy). The wings were seasoned like someone's grandma passed down a secret recipe and had a nice hint of sweetness finish. Unfortunately, I can't recommend the Mac and Cheese, it was a little too dry for my liking. And last but not least is the sweet potato cheese pie. I have been known to choose a restaurant based on the desserts available-well let me say I will return just to have another serving of that pie. It is the best of both a sweet potato pie served during a family gathering and a cheesecake treat that keeps you coming back for another bite. So I was super excited when this location opened because I have heard so many good things about Shareef's. The reviews for this location were great my fellow Elite Yelpers gave good reviews as well. I am going to try to sum this up as short as I can. Long story short we won't order from here again. Here we go, the first time we ordered I purchased the rotisserie wings, mac and cheese, brussel sprouts, shrimp platter, and shrimp wrap. The wings were good, mac wasn't anything special, and they ran out b-russles, they called immediately to advise they had sold out. The platter was just, meh the shrimp were bland and their "special sauce" tasted like thousand island dressing. So despite the subpar food I wanted to give them another chance, especially because it's black owned. So we tried again, my entire household ordered! We ordered a veggie wrap, salmon wrap, crab and shrimp platter, crab meat wrap, a turkey burger, and bread pudding. We ordered delivery via grub hub, the delivery took 2 hours, we called there and were told the driver was on his way several times. We finally got our food and it was bland and lukewarm. They also did not include my dessert. Oh and the sauce still tasted like 1000 island salad dressing, there is nothing SPECIAL about their sauce. We called the next day and spoke with Sidney the manager, we told her about our 2 hour wait, the subpar food, and missing dessert. For the inconvenience she offered a complimentary DESSERT. My friend, we spent a lot of money there, experienced bad service, and all we were offered was dessert! It's one thing if the food was kinda good but it tasted like nothing. No seasoning at all. It's a turn off when you have to speak to the representative of the establishment twice before the person looks up from their cellphone just to greet you. My husband and I both ordered the Crab Wrap with their Maple Old Bay fries...it was good but expected more for them to be the "house of wraps". You can taste the crab in the first few bites of each side of the wrap but after those few bites it's gone!!! The fries however were good, loved the hint of maple, found myself stealing his fries. My 5 year old daughter got their chicken bites, she's a picky eater and it's safe to say she enjoyed them very much. UPDATE: So, I went back today and talked to Michai. He remembered talking to me on the phone and was willing to make things right so that deserves 1 additional star. I was able to get the food we didn't get as well as the catfish special. The chicken over rice didn't come with sides but the catfish did. I had cabbage but since it was crunchy, I'm going to say it was fried cabbage, Mac and cheese, and yellow rice. My husband said the chicken and rice was pretty good; but however there was a pice of hard plastic in his meal. I'm guessing it was a piece of one of their utensils {see pictures). So that is minus 1 star. The catfish was seasoned well and it was good. The cabbage had a good flavor although it was harder than I like, but it other folks may like it that way. The Mac and cheese tasted like extra sharp cheddar was used. I particularly don't like the tartness of extra sharp cheddar (I prefer mild or sharp) cheese but again, others may. Not based on the sides but just the fish. It is worth one star. So my review is not so harsh sounding, I won't review the rotisserie wings I got from my previous experience. The shrimp tacos were fair, I didn't try the wing platter because I order that for lunch for tomorrow. The fries were tasteless I could not taste the honey or the Old Bay. So that was money wasted because they were also limp, flimsy, I'm not sure how to describe them. Anywho, I ended up throwing them in the trash. So, I said to myself, "self, this has to get better!" NOT! Oh, did I mention that the meal that was missing was my husband's, needless to say, he wasn't a happy camper. So, we eat (he ate leftovers) and said let's eat some cookies. The first snickerdoodle that I picked up crumbled. I tasted it and it was definitely past the sell-by date (which it did not have) because they were so stale and just crumbled. Ohhhh, I almost forgot...the strawberry lemonade, it was okay but it was probably the best part of what was delivered. Not sure why I was told that because I brought them from The Grill, not the vendor. So I was put on hold again and then a male came to the phone (I forgot his name). Long story short, he took my information and said they were willing to resolve the issue and wanted me to come to visit face-to-face to solve the issues. I had been seeing one of my fellow Yelp Elites check in to this establishment so much I added it to my bookmarks to check out this locally black-owned business. I kept wondering where exactly it was and surprised at how often I unknowingly pass this spot on a regular basis. We visited here for lunch on 06'30'20. There was no other customer in at the time we walked in so we were able to order straight away. It's not a huge place, sufficient space for dining in, the decor was nice, they have TV's up for your viewing pleasure and it was very clean. Restrooms were closed due to COVID, but that was to be expected and employees wore masks. Mikayla took our orders and was very pleasant. I ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab & Shrimp Wrap & a side of Mac-b-Cheese, I'm always leery when I order anything with shrimp for fear of getting the tiniest shrimp that establishments can find, but oh baby, not at Shareef's, the menu says "premium" jumbo lump crabmeat and grilled Shrimp and boy did he deliver, the shrimp in my wrap were large, fresh & robust, I was super excite that it wasn't buried deep in the other fixings and they stood all the way out and were plentiful. The crabmeat was definitely lump and present all throughout the wrap as well, they hooked this wrap up with fresh cut broccoli, red peppers, green peppers, yellow saffron rice and Shareef's Special Sauce. I'm a sauce person so stated "heavy" on the sauce and they delivered. My daughter got their Rotisserie Wings with Mac & Cheese...man! They seasoned those wings up like a BOSS! I placed an order through Uber, I ordered the grilled lamb chops and turkey burger. The lamb didn't come with broccoli like it shows in the pictures, but it did come with plenty of rice, but they were awesome, which is why I'm giving it a great review. The turkey burger was huge, nice and juicy. I highly recommend this restaurant. When the Covid19 is lifted I will be in the restaurant for dinner. Tonight my family revisited The Grille by Shareef after an unpleasant initial experience. Manager Sydney's outreach and professional is why. She was gracious, empathetic, and responsive. I was REALLY stressed out from managing a diagnosis of COVID in my home, while working in my doctoral coursework. I chose this restaurant because of its healthier options, as well as the allure of their treats. (I'm a sucker for fried Oreos.) We reordered everything from before and even added extra desserts. Everything was amazing! My favorites are their sides. The cabbage and string beans were perfectly seasoned. The sweet potato casserole was not overly sweetened. My greedy child devoured the fried Oreos, leaving me only a bite. My partner loved the bread pudding. The lobster bites could still use some sprinkle of magical seasoning, but the dipping sauce rescued them. The persnickety a$$10 year old is usually over rotisserie chicken, but devoured their Old Bay Maple glazed chicken. The inside of the establishment was clean and well decorated.
