I went with friends to The Green Room to try out the new brunch spot on the block. Pleasantly surprised is something of an understatement when it comes to the food offered here. I always enjoy restaurants with clever names for their dishes, so points for that. But most importantly I was blown away by my meal! I had the Johnny Cash, a scratch biscuit with a fried chicken breast, smothered in white sausage gravy and topped with bacon. De. Li. Cious. They clearly have someone's mom in the back on biscuit duty. The seasoning on the chicken was perfect, and the only complaint I had about the gravy was that there could've been more on my plate. I also had a taste of a friend's home fries. Now, I'm very picky about home fries and typically won't order them because I don't often find them prepared to my liking. These potatoes, however, have just found themselves on an exclusive list of places that I'd actually order from.
We had somewhat of a large party and our service didn't really suffer for it. With our visit being their first run at brunch, it was definitely a good experience and I know they'll only get better with time. Also important to note: very very reasonable prices and at the time of this review, a bottomless mimosa option. Next time you're going for brunch (which should really be every Sunday) roll on over to The Green Room! read more
