The Great Harry in Woolwich, named after the flagship of King Henry VIII. I enjoy the history behind each Wetherspoons and the summary included on the front of the menu.
I arrived before 5pm on a Wednesday and it was already very busy. After 5pm this place was wild. I thought it could be due to the fact that it was the first day of the Holiday Menu. I placed my order via app, as any good patron would do ;) I had the same server for the duration of my visit and she was super nice!
The holiday chicken wrap with stuffing was better than I anticipated in terms of flavors and presentation, and came out very hot. I had also also ordered a side of chips, which never disappoints.
I have been recovering from a broken leg, that involved surgery, so I was able to use the accessible bathroom (toilet) facility downstairs. It is rather annoying that people who are perfectly capable of ascending/descending a single flight of stairs will queue to use the accessible facility out of convivence. Of course I know not all disabilities are visible; however, when it is a group of girls in short skirts and nice shoes with beers in their hands, it is obvious they are using this facility because it is closer to the bar. Anyway, it was still in a decent condition given the number of early patrons.
Wifi worked. Drinks and food were good. I would return if in the area because I do love the Spoons. read more
