The intimate size of the property worked perfectly for our smaller wedding and being able to add certain rental spaces helped us tailor the property to fit our needs. In fact, my husband thought it was overkill that security searched everyone coming in and strictly enforced dress code (no gang attire), but he's not from the area so he doesn't understand. Overall, we were very happy with this venue and so was my pops. It was totally his style. And I also have some nice little nostalgic memories of this venue from back in the day when my friends and I would get our Aqua Net and our groove on. Some may say it's little pricey for the area, but it's a historical land mark in the city of Pomona, AND you can bring in your own food (instant savings) AND your own liquor (tremendous instant savings). AND they clean up for you at the end of the event--totally awesome when you danced too much in those nonsensible shoes and just want to kick them off and go home to bed. Staff was great too--office personnel very helpful and professional. Security team also in close contact and very professional especially during encounter with one tequila faced guest . . . The venue is very adaptable to various themes (we had an Edwardian-inspired garden party/autumn harvest dinner theme). Many of my guests told us that it was the best wedding they had ever been to, and the staff was very accommodating to our various requests, such as serving homemade apple cider I brought, or setting up a special kids table. I was nervous about having a reception only, because we (or any trusted family) would not be there to oversee the set-up (set-up happened during our ceremony at a different venue), but the Helping Hands service did a beautiful job and worked well with our caterers. They also responded in a timely manner to all of my emails with questions and logistical changes in the months leading up to the wedding. The best part about this venue is that you can dress it up or down as much as you want to work within your budget. Not all venues allow you to do that. With the CCC taking care of setting up tables, chairs, linens, bartender and security guard, I didn't have to worry too much about anything else other than flowers, dj, photography and food. Rita had great recommendations for vendors that really made the experience all the better and easier to plan. He doesn't really care too much and would just give a standard "yeah that's nice" but this was the place he actually seemed excited about so we sealed the deal right then and there. Karen was always super responsive and quick to answer any questions during our 10 months of planning. It's such an affordable venue and I loved that you are able to bring in all of your own vendors. We brought in our own bartender team where we got to supply the alcohol, and we had a food truck there for our meal. They had a handful of staff there the whole night to check on bathrooms, empty trash cans, and just make sure the venue was in good shape. They are also there to move chairs from the ceremony if needed, take down tables and chairs, really was a great experience and I would recommend this venue for so many events - not just weddings. People have been raving about our venue since and I'm so happy we decided to do our wedding there.
