O. M. Goodness! I have not eaten at Granada's since 1990 when they had a location in Chatsworth. It was always one of my favorite Mexican restaurants back then, and eating at the O.G. Granada's tonight in Burbank was one huge trip of excellent Mexican food nostalgia for me. It tastes exactly how I remember. Just frikkin' great! I ordered the Banderillas. It comes to the table where they will light it on fire in front of you. It was a lot of fun to order. Not to mention the queso fundido was amazing (could have eaten two orders). Oh Granada! It's like watching an old family member die a slow death! My wife has lived in Burbank her whole life and Granada was her families go-to Mexican restaurant. When we got married, this was the first restaurant in Burbank she took me to! But, about 15 years ago the food was slowly going down hill then the pandemic started. Then there was a sliver of hope things were going back to where they were but, the end came! $22.00 Margaritas? You must be kidding?! I haven't been to Granada for some time but we decided to go last night. The food and environment were fine but I was very disappointed in their charging a 3.84% fee to use a credit card. This is not okay! We all know credit card companies charge a fee but all other large restaurants absorb that cost. Their prices are high enough for the food you get. Stopped in here while we were in the area. Went in to see if they had indoor seating, which they did and we were seated right away. They also have outdoor seating as well. We were served chips and salsa right away and chips were warm and salsa was tasty. We ordered two ice cold Corona lights with lime and they were brought out ice cold along with cold glasses. I opted to order the bacon wrapped shrimp a la cart. There were six of them brought out on a plate loaded with fresh and tasty guacamole and a few tomato slices. Hubby ordered camarones rancheros along with rice and beans. Everything came out nice and warm. Hubby ordered flour tortillas and asked for butter (no charge as it should be, lol). This is a place that we will definitely make as a regular stop when we are in town. They just celebrated 50 years too! I love Granada's. This is the kind of Mexican food with molten refried beans and a black olive on top. It fondly reminds me of other red booth, sit down restaurants that serve delicious, unfrilly food at good prices. I miss eating inside! It's homey and comforting, in the way that SoCal Mexican food restaurants like to look like old haciendas. The service is consistently good. They've been in our take-out rotation since the pandeemo started, and the food travels well! What a great place! Came here for a birthday and everything we had was great! The staff were fun and friendly. The chips were freah and warm. The salas had a great flavor without being over spicy. The appetizers were also great, melted cheese dip with warm toritllas was divine. Nothing better than hot melted cheese! The bean dip was great and so were the flautas! I had the mago margarita and it went down too easy so I had another since I wasnt driving. For the main course I had the burrito especial and it was delicious! Soft, flavorful, tender beef with beans and cheese, served wet with a red sauce. It was a huge portion and I could only eat half. The reat was great the next day warmed up for lunch. My husband and son got a chimichanga, my daughter in law got the chicken mole and everyone enjoyed their food. We will be back! read more

The appetizers are awesome! The service accommodates seniors and handicapped so makes it easier for them. The host and waiters were very prompt, too. A good gauge to tell if you are having a good margarita is when you don't even notice that it's almost gone plus the tingly "happy-chatty" effect after the second glass, you don't feel any pain at all ( pain you said? What pain?) The Cadillac Margarita. Yup. That really got us going. We've had many dinners here at the Granada even before it closed for a bit then re-opened ( a change in management maybe?) Fortunately the staff remained amazing, friendly and the food tasty and delish, not to mention their never ending chips and salsa that I just can't seem to stop eating. Tonight I decided to try their Bistestitos, delicious strips of beef in a reduced tomato, pepper & beer sauce...as weird as that combination maybe, this meal tasted amazing. Topped with a few rings of fresh sliced onions and served with a side of rice & beans, this delightful meal is something that I would definitely order again. Their combination #10 Chile Rellano and Beef or Chicken enchilada was also pretty darn good, under a blanket of melted cheese, a side of rice and beans, this combo was a sure one two hit! If something sizzling on a plate is what you are looking for, they have it too! And oh man it was good! Try their delicious sizzling Fajita, cooked with a good size chunks of veggies, it will definitely satisfy your meat or shrimp cravings! The serving at the Granada is pretty generous, needless to say, I left the place with a to-go box which in turn became my lunch at work the next day (less the margarita of course). Parking is pretty accessible either by Burbank Blvd. or Victory ( right across from Costco) If you are craving for a good sized serving of delightful Mexican dish and you happen to be on this side of Burbank, I highly recommend giving The Granada a try. Once again, I'm a creature of habit. My family comes to this restaurant at least four times a month. I LOVE the Monday and Tuesday special -- where you buy a combination #1-12, and another combination #1-12 is FREE. Yes, you read it right. FREE. Of course, there are stipulations. The "free meal" is given to the equal or lesser value of the two. . . but still. FREE, PEOPLE. Where do you get that kind of deal? C'mon! Well, there IS such a thing as a free meal. Anyway, Granada's staff is super friendly, and the meals are served HOT and quickly. The portions are sizeable, enough to share, if you're not that hungry. Old school since 1971. The place was busy on a Saturday night and we arrived a bit hungry too. As soon as we walked in we were seated at a booth and handed the menus. My girl is a bit pushy and wanted water, chips and salsa immediately, kick back chica this place is busy as you can see. Our waiter was not the friendliest older chap and his mind was wondering and not paying too much attention to us. The chili verde burrito I ordered was very good and had big chunks of pork inside with a quality flour tortilla I give it 5 stars. The salsa that is served is gringo quality and isn't super spicy the way we like it. When I asked for the hottest salsa the waiter brought me my favorite bottled hot sauce which is excellent but a no no for a Mexican restaurant. I've been here a few times since 2010 with my then girlfriend, now wife. We've enjoyed this place as a legit "Mexican" place with actual Mexicans. Servings are large enough for leftovers, drinks are strong. Large booths in dining room are a welcome feature for larger parties. Back cocktail room has a nice bar and tables. Ok, so I was at Costco getting some new tires and had a 2 hour wait so I decided to hit this joint I noticed as I was pulling into the parking lot. I usually check it's ratings on yelp and see if there are other options in the area, but I put my phone back in my pocket and took a chance. This spot is what I consider a "classic" LA Mexican restaurant. They have the combo menu items that include rice and refried beans that had the melted cheese on top. Being a 70's/80's kid in LA, this is what I grew up on. I would like to give the place less stars for making the beans and rice so good that I got hella full. Still eating, dang it... I ordered the chicken flautas. They are perfectly cooked, well seasoned and beautifully displayed with the beans and rice on a separate plate. Full of flavor and includes a large dollop of tasty guacamole and a little sour cream. I'm not sure why this place has only has 3.5 stars, but I'll be hitting this spot again for sure! read more

Went to Granadas for dinner. Salvador (the server) never gave me back my credit card after paying the check. Once noticing i didn't have my card, my girlfriend called the restaurant to double check they had the card. They said they didn't have it. Once I went in person, they knew what I came for and had the card in hand. Salvador couldn't look me in the eye while he gave me back my card. Now I have to order a new credit card. HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! DON'T GO THERE! ZERO STARS! LOOK OUT FOR ENRIQUE! I took my mom there recently for her birthday. we received bad food, bad service, and could not get a receipt from the waiter "Enrique". I suspect the waiter "Enrique" stole/is stealing the money. I paid in cash and he brought me back my change without a receipt showing what I had paid. When we arrived & were seated, we waited & were ignored for a long time. Finally, after almost 15 minutes, the waiter Enrique finally showed up, but he seemed very put off, & was extremely rude to us, like we were bothering him. He was also slow & inattentive. He never once came back to check on us or ask if we needed anything, or refill my drink even once. We had to eventually ask the bus boy to bring/refill our drinks and give us chips and salsa. The food also tasted VERY old, very bland and had no flavor. Mine was also cold when I got it. I couldn't even eat or finish it. When I asked the waiter Enrique why he had charged me for the birthday dessert, he yelled at me and made a scene in front of everyone. He openly refused to give us the birthday dessert, which is supposed to be free, because we had ordered the Tuesday "buy one get one free" entree special. If this restaurant is going to advertise these specials to draw people in, they can't then just change their own rules & refuse to honor them. I didn't want to argue or make a scene/fuss since we were supposed to be celebrating my Mom's birthday. When it was time to pay, the waiters were hovering around our table & our waiter Enrique was leering at us with dirty looks. Being as he had overcharged me, I didn't want to leave a tip but I was afraid he would yell at me or chase me outside since he was already acting so hostile. Also, there did not appear to be anyone one to talk to about this. I didn't see a manager present at this location. Given the numerous other negative reviews describing similar experiences, it appears the waiters are engaging in unethical business practices And stealing money. I am pretty sure, being as he refused to give me the revised receipt, that our waiter Enrique took the charge off for the birthday dessert, but then just kept the money. I have worked in several restaurants myself, & have seen this behavior/racket before. Another reviewer had to call the police on these crooks. Read the other reviews to see all the other problems with these waiters & this horrible restaurant. All told, they succeeded in ruining what was supposed to be a happy celebratory day for me & my Mom. I'm NEVER coming back here, & will tell everyone I know about this horrible experience, & to avoid this place like the plague as well. Bottom line- BAD FOOD! BAD SERVICE! CRIMINAL WAITERS! My parents used to go to this place on dates back in the early 80's and they loved it. I started coming here a few years ago and I loved it. I've since moved out of Burbank but when I do pass by I have to stop here for their Cadillac margaritas and chicken flautas. Probably their second best plate. Their first is the chile colorado plate. I've been coming here for 40 years. I love this place for special occasions. I was treated and chose Granada for Mother's Day. I was so disappointed. My margarita was not good. Normally, I love their margaritas. They changed my favorite entrée, The Puerta Vallarta enchaladas with crab meat. Instead of the wonderful white sauce, it now has cheese. The crab meat used to be so much that you could certainly understand the price of this item. Unfortunately, there wasn't much crab, although the price was still pretty high. I would have paid more to have the recipe the way it used to be. Very disappointed. I don't think I will be back. read more
