Grain Sacks of years gone by.

Had lunch on a Saturday. The menu is narrow during the China Virus pandemic. The Cheeseburger Deluxe was good. I'm not a germaphobe, but the social distancing of booths and tables was very good. There could have been 3-times the number of people dining and the large dining area would have easily accommodated a busier lunch. The waitress was wearing a mask. She did a great job not "hovering," while checking a couple times to see if I needed anything else.

Stopped in on our way to Denver. This place is such a beautiful place, didn't expect it to be this nice, since it's in the middle of nowhere. The waitress was really nice. My friends had the grilled chicken sandwich and they truly loved it. I had the burger that's pictured here, I also loved it. The food was really fresh, I would stop in again if I ever come back to Colorado to visit.

Good size restaurant for a small town. Big bar area with TV. Large party rooms. Nice size back screen in porch. Friendly staff. Wanted to give 5 starts, unfortunately they had a fly problem that day and asked about it, there response was "we know".

The Grainery, great place to eat! Had the mushroom and cheese hamburger with sweet potato fries both were excellent.

Permanently closed! Not too great the last year it was open. Too bad, as it used to be a really nice local restaurant with good food.

A couple of cheese burgers, trip to the salad bar, onion rings, and cheese cake. The cheese cake was a terrific ending. The menu is definitely a something for anyone treat. It was pretty extensive and I suspect each item gets the care and attention that our selections received. Delicious! The only thing to exceed the quality of the food was the service provided by Jessica and Audrey! Icing on the cake was being able to chat with the owner, Jessie, and get the background on the evolution of the town roller rink into Traditions. Jessie runs the restaurant, catering and the banquet side of the business. Traditions can be found at 824 Main Ave, Goodland, KS. (785)728-4600

On this trip, we were planning to stop in Goodland for lunch. Unfortunately, one of our two favorite restaurants is closed on Wednesday and the other was temporarily closed due to the owner's health. Fortunately, a nice man saw us looking at one of the closed restaurants and said that if we were looking for a good restaurant, we should try Traditions - at the other end of Main Street. When we arrived at Traditions, there was a sign out front saying "Grand Opening ". When I asked the waitress, she said this was their FIRST official day being open. My wife ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich which was excellent. It came with waffle fries that were also excellent. I ordered the Wilson burger (one of their signature burgers). It was also excellent and also came with the excellent waffle fries. Service was excellent. I was confused because there was a Yelp review from a year ago. I asked for the back story. Seems that they have been open ONLY on Friday and Saturday nights - operating out of sort of temporary quarters (kind of a banquet hall) next door. In the meantime, they renovated the restaurant section, revamped the menu and today was the grand opening of the actual restaurant with expanded hours. They are now open five days a week. We now have three favorite restaurants in Goodland. We will definitely be back to Traditions.

Colby, Kansas, March 2026…read more The small restaurant has 10 tables. It It sits on the corner of an antique strip mall. Pretty basic inside the restaurant. The salad bar is located right next to the one and only bathroom. The menu has many sandwiches to choose from. It has fewer entree selections. The waitress was new the night we went. She was nice and extremely helpful. She was an older lady, and I only say that for clarification of the other waitress who had long black hair with ponytail. Tried to get her attention a few times, and even though the restaurant is extremely small, she passed by as if though she did not see us. We ordered the chicken fried steak and the fried chicken. Both came with an ice cream size scoop of mashed potatoes and corn. The potatoes and chicken were covered in a white gravy. The chicken was hot and tender. The mashed potatoes were flavorless as was the gravy. The meals are also accompanied with a roll. Butter is in individual packets on the table. The chicken fried steak was thick and had little breading. It would have been better if it was a thinner pounded steak with more breading as that was more traditional to my liking. When they bring your check, it comes with a warm chocolate chip cookie. Cute idea! The ambience was odd and not welcoming. The location was rather depressing. The food was OK. I would give this place overall 3.5 stars.
