Update: Stopped in to try the pizza.. We had heard from a few people that it was the best pizza in town, so we decided to roll the dice and give the place a second try. The first thing we noticed is that the place was quite dirty...we knew from the other time we were there that the decor was dated and it was a little messy.. but this time we definitely noticed the dirty floors and tables. Our waitress was great and had us drinks and menus right away & bright the kid drinks with lids. We started off the meal with an order of deep fried pickles. Although they looked like dill pickles they seemed more like hot face burning green sticks..with little flavour. It came with a sauce that I can best describe as off white and gelatinous. We ordered the Canadian pizza which was good, but I wouldn't say it is the best..the dough was soggy so you were forced to eat it with a knife and fork and no condiments came with the pizza (hot pepper flakes, parmesan Cheese etc.). It did use real bacon and a good amount of cheese which likely affected the crust. The sauce was good but not great. Overall I can't see us going back here..if you are driving through and want a greasy spoon breakfast or dinner it may be worth a stop.

I stopped in because the parking lot had room for an RV pulling a car. I walked in the door and the dirty carpets made me want to turn around and leave. But I sat down and realised they sell beer! After 5 pm in Carleton Place it's hard to find beer. The beer was cold and the Bacon Cheeseburger Poutine I ordered cake out hot and super delicious! The AC works well also. So if they would clean the carpets this place would be perfect. The service was amazing also.

Yes, it's a bit of a truck stop but the food is hearty and the portions are huge.

Great view! Beautiful and very photo worthy re the patio and flowing river…read more The menu options were great. Apps, entrees, sides, drinks. Service, not professional, not polished. We ordered drinks. An entire 8oz of rose was spilled in my dining partner's lap as the server tripped on her own feet, according to her. As he was dressed in his Sunday best. Pants, shirt. Table. Menu. My cell phone. What a mess. We were shocked a bit, but laughed it off. Declined to move tables and didn't accept her offer of a new server. Life happens but it really was nice of her that she said, she was covering that round of drinks. One would expect, right? We ordered escargot to share. Called it an afternoon as my partner was feeling a bit uncomfortable and wanted to leave to change. Bill was brought. No discount on drinks as promised. I advised the young gal that that wasn't right. She advised there was no manager for the discount approval. She returned back inside, came out. Took off one drink from the bill. The spilled one. That happened in front of a busy patio. Bad form. Paid our bill, I left a tip anyways. I'd come back to give it another go. I'd love to try the lobster spaghetti or the Sable fish I was eyeing. Staff could have made this a 5 star experience but... not even close. Most people would send them the dry cleaning bill, right?

Lately it's been getting worse and worse. We ordered: Choose your own pasta + sauce (penne with Alfredo sauce) Cheeseburger with onion rings 2 grilled cheese sandwiches Nowhere on the menu does it say that choose your own pasta comes with onions or mushrooms, so when it arrived with both, we sent it back asking for neither. It came back.... still had onions in it. The cheeseburger and onion rings came with no onion rings, fries instead. The grilled cheese came with no cheese. It looks like cheese might have once been on the bread, but later removed. It was truly the most perplexing. I love to support local restaurants but this isn't the first disappointment from them (last time we were told we didn't read the menu correctly despite doing exactly that), and this time just sealed the deal that we will be unable to return unless there is new management and a better cook. We really liked ordering from here often, but things have taken such a severe turn for the worse that we cannot risk wasting more time and money. Buyer Beware Sincerely, Missing-The-Old-Eating-Place
