Great place to shop for second hand treasures. Lots of beautiful gently used household items.

Parking lot Large selection Fair prices except I saw some Kirkland brand clothing that were almost the same price as they would cost new The staff member I interacted with was polite & helpful. read more

Nordstrom it ain't and you have to deal with that but if you're on the lookout for inexpensive physical media (CD's/DVD'S) then you'll appreciate the needle in the haystack treasure hunt. Of course you have to know what you're looking for as some of these discs have been used and abused but for $30 you can easily give yourself an early Christmas present. You also don't want to sleep on Amazon who always seems to be purging themselves of overstocked digital orphans but Goodwill is definitely worth the browse. Five easy stars. read more

New pricing strategy and Greed has forced loyal customers like myself that spend thousands of dollars per month there buying clothing to be forced to move on and give that money to their competitors. They have a sign in the front that says "slashed prices" however they seem to have hired 4-5 new pricers in the back that price regular everyday clothing items above market value, and anything with a semblance of popularity now gets priced to 12.99 and sometimes 34.99. This is not a retail store and they do not pay for their inventory. Atlantic Highlands has not fallen to this greed as of yet so they will get my thousands as well as local thrift stores. The manager Robin is friendly and I am not sure who is behind this new pricing strategy but it is going to lose the store a lot of money and turn away loyal customers. The clothing racks are BUSTING at the seams and the boutique rack has no space because nobody wants to pay the absurd mark up prices. People go to the thrift store to get things like Vineyard Vines, Polo Ralph Lauren, Abercrombie, etc for below pre-owned market price and to feel like they saved money. Charging 30-100 dollars on something that LOOKS slightly vintage even if it has no value because they have mid 20's-30's year old "hypebeasts" that think they are doing the store good. Families on a budget are not going to pay those prices nor are resellers, so why would they actively shun both of their biggest customers? The next part of my review will focus heavily on cleanliness and audacity. The sheer amount of it. I have seen with my own eyes a shirt with a 5 INCH GAPING HOLE on the front of it, priced at $9.99. Who on earth is going to purchase this? A taco bell hoodie with stains on it was 10.95. Again, who? Recently, they have started to try and trick and deceive customers by pricing good brands what they should be priced (Under armour, nike, etc) for $5-$8 and then when you further inspect the item the zipper is non existant making the item not functional. They are hoping someone picks that item up and doesn't realize the zipper doesn't work or it is missing five buttons. This seems to purely a management issue because Atlantic Highlands runs a tight ship for boutique items and makes them fairly priced. You can also always find bargains and good deals on good brands within the racks, NOT priced up to 13 dollars. This tells me it is not goodwill themselves making these rules and hiring these absurd pricers, it is management. If it wasn't for Sundays, this place would run out of space on the racks because of horrible pricing and mismanagement of stained/ripped items. If you are an average person in the area, I would not recommend wasting your time here. They might as well make the entire store the boutique section and put everything in a glass case for $12.99. read more

Resellers mill around the double doors waiting for carts, blocking aisles so they can grab everything to look it up. Feels like we're at the bins! It is worse in this store than any other I have shopped. Employees bring items to specific vultures aka resellers. You know it's bad when the store manager hangs around with them. read more

Long line, checking out 11 items. 12 rang up. Cashier proceeded to check every pocket after counting 2 times. ok she's trying. Then she looked at each tag comparing it to her register screen. more time. Then she advised me to just pay and when I went through the door scanner it would show what was coming up. Nothing came up. Back to register to have her take each item and cross reference to the printed receipt, which I had not yet seen. She said you have a boutique pair of shoes coming up. I responded I bought no shoes. She said these scanners pick things up all around them. It happens a lot. So, she said she would credit me. WARNING, do not pay if there is a discrepancy because you will only get a credit that must be used in 30 days. It is their policy not to make right the equipment failure. No "goodwill came my way." Now I'm forced to spend money I don't have and just be grateful I didn't use a debit card to put my checking short. The manager was called and had no empathy, just said sorry, nothing I can do. Most of us shop here because we need to save and hope for a chance to own something we can't afford from stores. Some of TJ MAxx shirts are not much more than what Goodwill charges. Certainly not 39.99. So Goodwill, reconsider your policy and in the very least, get equipment that works for your hardworking clientele. read more

This store used to be very good however over the last 6 months has increasingly gotten worse. Despite the signs and advertisements of lowering prices, this location has not followed through. Save you time and go to the other locations in the area and you will see a sizable difference and substantially LOWER pricing in other areas. Basic Polo Ralph Lauren shirts and button downs for $9.99 where elsewhere they're $5.99. And other locations are in their market and close by. High price tags on "premium" brands that can be gotten cheaper on EBay. Even on Half Off colors it is more than the other stores as the low prices there would be half off as well being in the same market. Until they come back to reality and get in line with sister stores in the zone I will skip and suggest you do as well. read more

I went shopping in Goodwill Hazlet today Jan1st/26. One of the male staff who's working on this day was extremely very rude. Not sure if he was the Manager. The way he talked to me very rude & not nice at all. I really don't appreciate the way he treated me. It is very disappointing & honestly I've been going to this store with no problem. Im only complaining about him, he's attitude is very unprofessional. read more

It's a great place to go shopping especially on a Sunday. They have their tagged items that they post for $1. You can save a lot of money:) Actually bought a nice jacket for $9.99 & a pair if coach heels originally marked $6.99 for $1. read more

All management needs to be fired at this location super rude and disrespectful to collectors and Vloggers. Just go to Atlantic Highlands for a family friendly atmosphere. Plus they allow scalpers to stand and weight and clog up the isle so they can get there hands on everything that comes out the doors before anyone else.... it says no loitering but how that's allowed is mind blowing. read more

Terrible managers who are rude there products are always broke shoes without soles food still inside some of there appliances and they dont take returns unless you have the original sticker which doesn't come off n rips if you do so then u officially cant return it.. read more

I've shopped and donated here many times over the past 5 years. I've only had positive experiences with friendly staff inside the store, helpful donation acceptors in the back, and good quality clothing. Some staff have even helped me sort through CDs and check for scratches. It's unfortunate that the dressing rooms are closed and that not every piece found will be a hit, but there isn't much the staff can do about those issues as they're dependent on other shoppers. Overall I've had good experiences here. read more

Improve on what is said to costumers on time limits they have to return items. I was treated as a criminal when I insisted the manager who checked me out told me that I had 30 days. If I had known it was less I had time to bring it back the next day but I had my father's funeral to get ready for so I told myself I will do it when I return from Texas the following week. To my surprise when I told them this and they pointed out it was only 5 days to return, I explained what was said to me and they insisted she wouldn't tell me that. Then they said they were calling the cops when I said please I would have brought it back had I known it was 5 days. Firstly they didn't believe me and secondly they called the police even though I was having a conversation. Never again will I EVER in my life buy anything from this store again and if you really want to help the poor don't shop here. Give it to the veterans hospitals or nursing homes. Places that won't profit off your clothing that you give for the poor. Just discussed with the treatment of these people running the store. Horrible. read more

Won't take stuff that's being donated. You need to get the "donation bouncer" just in the right mood to take your donations. If it's in anyway imperfect or not brand new, the will refuse it. If it's got a spec of dust. You better clean it. Since when is donating to help the less fortunate such a hard thing? Isn't goodwill an indoor flea market or used market bazaar? When did it become an exclusive club where only the finest items can be donated and the rest can just go kick rocks. Beyond rude the way they treat donating customers. The young ( maybe not so young) grumpy donation guy needs a serious attitude adjustment and fast ! Ps .. possibly if you bribe the "bouncer" with a box of donut you might get him to accept your donations! Unbelievable!! read more

I came to the store at 6:49 to get one singular thing that I needed for tomorrow. I walk in and an employee yells to me that they are closed. The store had people in it and they do not close till 7. I stated that I thought the store closed at 7 and she said "exactly we are closed". I said I just needed to grab one thing and she just kept repeating rudely that they were closed. I have worked in retail and I understand that it can be frustrating having people come in close to close, but to refuse a customer to come in the store 11 minutes before closing and be rude is ridiculous. read more

This store relocated from a spot on 35 North of this spot, it's located in Hazlet Plaza next to China Buffet, its big with a weird set up registers are set in away from store front causing gridlock, store is big but disorganized and hard to check out when its time to pay, maybe growing pains as store is new, new employee Cathy assisted at checkout and was friendly and efficient... read more

Goodwill Store & Donation Center - Inside - Thrift Stores Near Me - Hazlet, New Jersey

The manager is rude. Items are overpriced garbage even by thrift store and Goodwill standards. Greed running rampant.

We started coming here after the Goodwill in my neighborhood closed down during Covid. I'm so glad that this place is open 7 days and late hours. The other location I used to go to, they still had everything old-school on paper. This place, everything is in the computer, you just give them your cell#, they click on what goods you brought in and then hand you a printed receipt. Easy peasy. I am surprised at one of the reviews where the lady said they refused her items. They never looked at any of my stuff. I bring it in a bag, hand it over and that's it. read more

Wow just wow , please beware ! If you plan on donating perfectly good items made of white plastic make sure it's perfectly clean , better yet make sure it's in its original packaging and if you really want success donating make sure you carry the stuff in to the storage area , price the item then go place it on the corresponding shelf and then just to take it one step further drive your car around to the front , go in the store and re purchase your donated product so that the staff that accepts donations doesn't have to lift a finger ! What a terrible process ! I'll be donating products to anyone else but Badwill ... read more

been shopping here since it was at its old location in cliffwood beach. though the prices definitely went up a bit since their move, i still love it there. always walk out with a handful of things. they also take all my donations (not sure what these other reviews are about, i never had a problem and have been donating for ages). i know certain items aren't allowed so if you're unsure just call and ask. but they definitely take all my clothes. very large selection, it'll take you a while to go through the whole store! read more

I came her to donate some stuff this weekend. Both times I came the staff was ridiculously rude, ridiculing me and others for not having thoroughly cleaned certain items. Specifically a boogie board and a bookshelf. This store made me feel bad about donating and discouraged me from doing it again. Spend your time elsewhere and donate to somewhere that appreciates your donation. read more

What a train wreck of a store!! Totally over priced...for product DONATED TO THEM!!! One star due to the very poorest quality selection of housewares; and the Good Lord knows, their clothes don't even get my attention in this location. The shelves are in constant disarray, broken items of all sorts and nothing is displayed attractively. This store is such a disappointment; I am one of the people who love to Shop around for unique and fun items and I have had to go elsewhere on a regular basis. There is simply no charm or character whatsoever to the store. If they are getting good quality items they certainly aren't being displayed and I have no idea where they are transporting them. With the uptick and pricing that they are Charging they might as well have a small team in the back at the very least, fixing up the horrid furniture they are displaying. If you want a really nice experience, go to Bo's attic, on route 36, Middletown, her prices cannot be beat and her quality is fantastic!! read more

I like to shop there, Hazlet NJ-I got burned 6+ more, buying stuff does not work! Cannot test a dvd/vcr player WITHOUT A TV! Cannot test a coffee maker, WITHOUT WATER!! MAYBE, test before putting out to sell!! NO RETURNS!! NO EXCHANGES!! Robin-red hair is the WORST!! I saw her arguing with customers-she always right=what kind of manager??? Went to her head!! I spoke the regional manager, defended the managers, I guess customers are second? That is why you cannot find people work there or start and quit!! That is why 3.1 stars==at least I am the only one who has a problem in this store!! And-I bought a foodsaver at another goodwill store, paid $3.99. Hazlet-same product, $20??? Hmmmmm????? Does corporate read the reviews? If not-they should!! I bought a very small purse for my granddaughter-I paid $2. Was still in the goodwill bag-in my car. Did not take it out? I went back to the store the next day, fell out of my bag, did not see it. Robin walked in to work, I was on line, she showed a coworker, I said, I just bought this yesterday, she asked me, did you steal this? WTH???? I stole from the parking lot? $2??? Must be smoking crack!!!! I will not shop there until she is GONE! read more
