Vanguard was one of them. I don't know/or didn't know if this place was for people looking for full time and temp work or just temp work. I just got a nice call from a guy named Brian and came in the next day, filled out an application (although I was confused by that, since I wasn't applying for a job with Vanguard) and had a nice discussion with said Brian about what I was looking for. Fine so far. Then, he proceeded to present me with so much paperwork, I thought I was being arrested or signing up for sex reassignment surgery. I didn't actually think much of it but didn't have the time to sit there and go through it, as I had another appointment that I was already late for. When Brian was nice enough to e-mail me the stuff to fill out, I looked at it carefully. Why do they need to have my DIRECT DEPOSIT INFORMATION???? I want a FULL TIME job. I DO NOT WORK FOR VANGUARD. This is really ambiguous and a bit decieving. There is absolutely no reason why they should have any of that information unless you are tempting through them. Just a warning. I'm not sending any of this stuff back. Obviously. What's your favorite employment agency, btw? It's been about 10 years since I've looked for a job!

How to demagnetize myself from this futile staffing agency attraction? With only a mere five minutes each respectively to meet with three recruiters to complete registration paperwork of two forms of identification, and a two hour eternal ordeal to take a computerized skills exam powered by Prove It. It was a very impersonal interview meeting. I arrived at 11:30am and did not depart until 1pm because of this stupid long haul exam. The skills exam room of the computer work stations is a confined space with very minimal air circulation which restricts my best ability to rate well. I knew a college education should definitely warrant a better job, but I was having really bad luck in my search and I didn't have a ton of experience as a recent college grad. The Aldan Troy Group was fantastic because it did the searching part for me. Within a week, I got a couple of one day temp assignments in areas that I was really interested in, and another week later, I got an interview for a temp-to-perm job. I ended up landing the job and am now making over twice as much as I used to at my old job. Another huge bonus is that now I have standard days and hours (M-F, 8:30-5:30). I would really recommend this agency for recent college grads. You don't have to suffer with retail work! I would also like to add that the placement counselor, Abigail, is quite possibly the nicest person on the planet.

I've been waiting to Yelp this place! Just couldn't do it while I was still in contract with them…read more Last Friday was my last day...bitter-sweet. Upon moving to the area, Suzanne was my first choice and first stop on a list of temp agencies. I liked that it's small and women-owned. Since they kept me busy during the holiday season, they were the only agency I worked with for about a month. It did slow down a bit after the holidays, but I still received at least two weeks worth of work per month. That may not seem like a lot, but for a small boutique company with no ads or sales, I think it's pretty good. Of course, I would've wanted more work! Who wouldn't? I have to say though, the few assignments I did receive were with wonderful companies and wonderful people. It's good to know they're just as picky about their employers as they are about their employees. The staff...LOVED them! I felt like they took everything we talked about during our initial meeting into consideration when placing me on assignments. My commute, my skills, my abilities, my interests, all taken into consideration. They're fun and personable and they totally get my humor. I liked them! We communicated frequently, even when there wasn't any work for me. I'm actually really shocked that they have reviews on here claiming they're unresponsive. Not my experience at all! I contacted them for everything: directions, resume critique, advice for interviews...everything! They even calmed me down when I got nervous or over-excited. When I met Suzanne, she was so attentive and gave me a world of resources and advice for my job search. When it had slowed down, I signed up with another agency...a bigger agency. Although I had a great interview with them and they called me frequently for assignments, I didn't accept any of the assignments. NONE! It felt like they just tossed me onto a call list. The companies were either not within a reasonable commute or they were of work I told them I was strongly against doing. I was unemployed, not desperate. Sharp contrast to TSS! That other agency had a really friendly staff (they're probably not the worst that's out there), but the agency as a whole lacked the personal touch that TSS has. I said goodbye to Suzanne and family when the first company they placed me with (a non-profit, as I strongly requested during our meeting) hired me permanently. Hire or no hire, I had a great experience with TSS while I was there. Job searching in a new city can be intimidating. I'm happy I did not have to do it alone.

We literally went out to buy clothes for my interview. They prepped with me before each interview and made me feel so at ease. But that was the end of it, never heard from them again. Waste. Of. Time. I am so thankful for Cris and Jullian at RJL. RJL Resources helped distinguish me from the sea of other job applicants out there by taking time to really learn my strengths and skills and what I wanted in my next position. Bob and his team made sure that I didn't feel pressured into accepting a job just because they call me to offer it. They wanted to make sure any position I took felt right for me. They responded quickly and dependably to all of my communication with them and I received a call about a possible position only hours after our first meeting. They were able to get me into interviews quickly and gave me advice on what each company was looking for and how to best present myself. Afterward, they kept on top of the status of my applications. Through RJL Resources, I was able to get a temporary position in a high-end hedge fund that I never would have been able to find or interview for on my own. Daisy Jimenez was such a delight to deal with. It was evident from the minute she coordinated the interview with me, and during the actual interview itself, that she's been doing this for a long time, and I've never felt so at ease while applying for a job. While she was the epitome of professional, I really felt as if I was talking to an old friend that I haven't seen as a while and not someone who was reviewing my resume to see if I was a fit for their available positions. Greg Bernhardt, who is one of the partners of the firm, met with me after my initial interview with Daisy, and he was equally as professional and personable. Once we had finished speaking with one another, he promptly made his way over to his desk, and started making phone calls on my behalf. Half an hour after I left their office, I had a request for a zoom interview for this upcoming Friday. Last but not least, Babien Avila, had such a fantastic energy about her, and although she didn't interview me, she kept checking on me while I was waiting to be seen and after I told her I was hungry, she went out of her way to get me some food as well as a much needed cup of coffee. While I was there, it was very clear that despite being a small firm, they were a very tight knit group, who worked efficiently together, while still being able to find time to laugh and smile with one another.
