Our experience with Good Guys so far:
Day 1 - Walk into store, buy items totaling around about $8k. Service is fine. Your TV guy, Lahkshan, is particularly good. Schedule premium delivery for next day.
Day 2 - Delivery truck arrives, drops of air conditioner and washing machine. Does NOT drop off fridge as the delivery guys tell us that it "won't fit through a standard door". My husband offers to remove the doors to fit the fridge. They advise that if they unbox it, and it doesn't fit, it's now "our problem", so we decline, and they take it back to the store. We take the measurements of all door ways through all possible routes to get the fridge to the kitchen and went to the store in person. After checking the fridge dimensions, we see that the fridge would have fit and the store manager, Pete, reassures us that he will get the owner of the delivery company to deliver it to our house by the NEXT day at 630am so as not to interfere with all the other things we already had booked that day.
Day 3 - Delivery truck calls at 620am saying they are between 20-40 minutes away - aka - NOT 630am as promised. Delivery truck arrives - it is not the owner, as promised. Delivery truck staff notice damage to the box. They open the box, there is a scratch on the door. They offer to drop off the fridge and then drop off a replacement door later. We reluctantly agree. They, and my husband conduct further inspection on the fridge only to find that there were also scratches on two sides. The sides can't be replaced. So the offer is to drop the damaged fridge to us and "drop off a new one later". Given the "then it's your problem" line from the day before, we decline. My husband calls the store manager, Pete. They have a discussion that ends with Pete saying he would call him back to discuss the possibility of getting the same fridge from a different store and dropping it off before 11am next day. 15 minutes before closing, neither myself, nor hubby have heard anything. I call the store. Pete is busy with other customers so I say I'll wait rather than leave a message. The girl on the phone goes back to him and returns with the message that everything is set for a delivery to us, from the Ipswich store, before 11am the next day.
Day 4 - We get a call at 8am, this time ACTUALLY from the owner of the delivery company to say that "the paperwork hadn't come through" and that they "couldn't pick it up until the paperwork had been done". In other words, the delivery guys couldn't do their job because once again, Good Guys hadn't done theirs. I hand the phone to my husband. He gets the same story. The delivery owner says that he can't deliver the fridge before 11am. He may not be able to do it today, it may have to be tomorrow.
There has been no offer of compensation. There has been no apology. There has been no resolution and there is still no fridge.
To add to this, we have not been given any advice on when to expect our air conditioning installation.
I do not recommend the Good Guys Oxley. read more
