Her nail art is incredible, and her attention to detail is unmatched. Whether it's something fun, seasonal, trendy, or completely off-the-wall, she brings it to life every single time. I have honestly loved every set she's ever done for me. What impresses me even more is how well her work holds up. My gel manicures easily last more than four weeks without a scratch, chip, or issue. Angel is one who I have seen multiple times now. She is lovely and always does a great job. However, she was wanting to take herself,, her granddaughter and me to get pedicures this weekend, knowing that she would be spending at least $140 over the gift cards, and of course tips. We were told that they changed ownership in 11/24 & that they were only good for 1 year (false, as when they were purchased the expiration date was marked through - see pics, none were written). She refused to honor the certificates as "they didn't make any money on them." In fact, she hung up on me. Yes, I fully admit I was frustrated, but she wanted NOTHING to do with this and to talking this through. She told me I could call the old owner, lol...not sure why. I asked to speak to the manager/owner & it was her. I have grown up in customer service & am a 2nd generation retail store family and no matter what, you do not hang up on customers or fail to offer any type of compensation. She could have easily made two customers but chose not to. Very disappointing. And by the way, when we purchased the gift certificates I did so because not only was their name 5 Star Nails, but they also had 5 stars! Unfortunately, doesn't look like that has continued. I wish them well, but I really hope they can learn from this interaction/review as how to treat customers & grow their business. I got a GEL mani with cat eye polish on Sunday and as of writing this review on Wednesday morning this already happens! I'm going to Disneyland and a wedding this weekend in Cali so I was expecting my nails to be looking cute and lasting for at least 3 weeks NOT 3 days! Coming from other nail salons getting shellac gel it last me 4 weeks or longer and it's pretty full and thick. I noticed when I got gel here the polish was thin. I didn't think much of it, so I ignored it. When I scratched my eye I felt a poke. When I looked closely the polish on the middle finger was coming off. As I looked closer I noticed the polish on my pointer finger was coming off too! I was like . I paid $85 for gel mani with cat eye polish and regular pedi, tipped $10. Now I am going to have to call another nail salon to see if they can accommodate me to get a polish change last minute, because I fly out tomorrow morning. I gave 2 because the nail tech was nice. If you've been coming here and you love it, good for you. I'm glad you're a happy customer, but as for me, I sadly will not be returning.
