This looks like a great place to get your desired service done, they offer everything from hair, makeup, facials, etc. However, the hair stylist that works here is completely unprofessional. I couldn't even book an appointment or see if there were any slots available because Mikki (the lady that does hair) apparently doesn't check her phone or feel the need to respond to inquiries. I texted the number she has listed on IG and tried calling the number as well and the phone repeatedly went straight to voicemail (I left a voicemail . Getting in contact with these people is damn near impossible and they gave off the impression that they don't want my business, so I took it elsewhere. I got a lash lift & tint with Jasmine after finding a Groupon. It was my first experience with lashes and Jasmine walked me through it all. She made me feel comfortable and relaxed. The lashes turned out great and lasted for about 4 weeks. My hair does not hold a curl so I was really happy. I had to take the time out to write a review on Mikki's shop The Glamm Bar so that no one is fooled by the very affordable prices and lets just start with the cleanliness which is not there. Her sink is always filthy and to be honest the last appointment that I went to I washed my own hair prior so I did not have to deal with asking her to clean her sink which I have had to do before every appointment. The shop itself has a very unclean feel but that's not even the worst part. The worst part for me is the fact that Mikki is VERY unprofessional. She doesn't respond back to text messages, does not answer phone calls, is always late to the hair appointments by at least 20 minutes and blames it on her uber driver every time and lastly she will OVER PRICE YOU if you dont confirm prices up front. I made this mistake by trusting Mikki because I have been a long time client of hers, I trusted that if I ask'd her what I owed her for a service she would tell me a legitimate price. Well in the picture below is a GLUELESS wig i purchased from mikki for $370 dollars. After purchasing the CUSTOMIZED wig i made a hair appointment to get my hair braided for the wig. When i arrived to my appointment Mikki told me she wanted to finish customizing the wig while it was on my head to make sure everything fits. After we were done I asked her how much I owed her and she responded $75 dollars, remind you the only services I had done were a blow dry (because I washed my own hair prior due to dirty sink) and braids straight to the back for a wig and already paid $370 for the wig prior. Mikki took advantage of my kindness and over charged me for services I did not receive. The only services I received from Mikki that day was a blow dry and braid down which shouldn't be any more than $50 dollars (on the high side). As you can see in the picture the wig isnt great quality, I can still see the lace, part of it will not stay down and the hair she uses is not good quality, straight from China. you get what you pay for in life, dont make the same mistake as me, hope this helps someone. read more

I'm obsessed with my mink eyelashes. Icannot do anything but rave about my experience at Glamm Bar! In the past I had got my eyelashes done downtown and they would constantly burn and I even had an infection. So trying a new place definitely made me nervous. Jasmine is amazing at what she does. Jasmine is great - she knows each of her clients who visit and she makes it a point to recap what we did last time. It's located in a warehouse which can be kind of difficult to find for a first timer but afterwards easy to remember. I have had my lashes done here with extensions and a lift. She's super patient and easy going. The only "complaint" I can think of is pretty standard among any salon you go to in the Chicago area which is the wait. It depends if there's a session before you that might run over but its nothing major. read more

I was unhappy with the original lashes I had done before I met Jasmine. I went to get the look I wanted. She did an amazing job! I went in to get a hybrid look on my lashes. There are definitely better options out there - although the lash woman is very nice, the salon is not sanitary feeling & I waited almost an hour past my appointment time. I also felt like the job was not done as well as other places - my top lashes were attached in some spots to my bottom lashes and I didn't feel like they were attached evenly on both sides. I had some discomfort after the appointment, too, which I've never experienced before with lash extensions. Finally, it was hard to find the location inside the large warehouse, although the woman was helpful when I was lost and called her for help. read more

I went online and selected an appointment time to get a set of eyelash extensions done. I then received an email confirmation showing that my appointment was confirmed. I had purchased a Groupon because it was the first time I would be going to this business and I wanted to try it out first. I arrived a few minutes before my appointment as instructed on my email confirmation that was sent to me. When I arrive to the business I called the number to see which door I should go in from and I was told that the person my appointment was with was not there and would not be there. I find this very unprofessional as I was not told that my appointment would be cancelled and I drove all the way there just to find out that my appointment was not going to take place. It's funny how you have to let a business know if you're going to cancel in time, yet as a potential new customer they do not mind if a customer wasted their time to arrive to an appointment as instructed to be left without a service. I will definitely not be coming back to this business. It is a big waste of time and money. read more

Jasmine was very professional. She listened to me when I told her I want "very natural" lashes. She recommended a good length and didn't over do it with the thickness. I think it is very important to find a technician who can give you the look you are asking for and not what they think would look best on you. The studio is in a convenient location with free parking. The building it self is a little industrial and when I first walked in was a little confused. But once you are in their studio, it is very nice with music, seating, and pretty lighting. I am sure they choose this place to keep the cost down so I don't blame them. They do a great job on lashes and don't charge you an arm and a leg like some places do. I highly recommend this place. read more
