They agreed to do the work and scheduled us for two days after the call. The price quoted seemed reasonable. The handyman arrived early, examined the job, got the supplies, went right to work. It took some new lumber, used most of what was on the ground so that I didn't have to pay for a lot of unnecessary material, rebuilt the section, removed all the rotted wood and old concrete, reset the section in new concrete, painted the new wood, and this part of the fence is rock-solid. The Handyman did a terrific job and we'll definitely call them again when the next job comes up.

We could barely sleep, especially knowing another bout of rain was coming. The following morning I called every handyman listed on Yelp that said they were open. On my 5th try James answered the phone. He was very upfront and professional. He had me email him photos and contact info. Within 15 minutes he emailed me a quote. He arrived less than 30 minutes after I emailed my confirmation back. Within 2 hours he had assessed what he needed to do and took off to get some sand bags. He tarped some areas and did some roof maintenance. He said if there were any more leaks to call him, even if it was at night. It's pouring and so far no leaks. He's honest and diligent. I can sleep tonight. Highly recommend.

UPDATE: Nothing bugs…read moreme more than when people don't return emails, especially when you are trying to give them some business. It conveys that you don't care. If you miss something so simple as communicating with a client, what else are you going to miss? I sent an email on 2/9/15 to Brian asking him for a quote on some tile work for my master bathroom. He replied the very same day with numbers...which I totally appreciated. I replied that day that I would mull the numbers over and asked how many days he would need for the project and what his schedule was like for the next month...all of which implied that I was seriously considering taking his quote and having the work done. Well, I have since re-sent that email another 2 times and as of 2/20/15, have not gotten a reply. Really? Are you too busy to take 2 minutes to compose a quick email? Communicating with your clients is a large part of your business. Figure it out. Sorry, but since you are apparently too busy to communicate, then I will give my business to someone else. Below was posted 05/2014 After receiving a notice from our HOA that we needed our garage door painted I did some research to find a good all around handyman. I also wanted someone that I could call in the future for small jobs. I came across the listing for Brian and his business and researched reviews online and decided that based on the great feedback I would shoot him an email. I emailed on a weekday evening and received a prompt, professional response the very next morning. We set up an appt and agreed on a price. He came out at the exact time promised and inspected the door. I had recently done some maintenance on the door and there was garage door lubricant that had seeped through and dripped down the surface of the door between the section joints. Brian pointed out that the door would need to be primed or the lubricant would eventually bleed through. He offered to pick some primer up and just charged us for the cost of the material and no additional time. I had already purchased the paint we wanted. Brian finished the job in about an hour and even after spending a little note time getting the primer he only charged his original bid. The door looks great, the HOA is happy and that's one less thing for me to do in the weekend! I will definitely keep Brian's info on file and call on him in the future for household repairs and projects. Thanks!

SCAM WARNING -- DO NOT HIRE THIS PERSON If I could give…read moreZERO stars, I absolutely would. I trusted Anthony with a $4,000 payment for a small project -- and he flat-out stole the money. He later admitted he had already spent it on his personal bills, saying he "didn't have it anymore," and even tried to guilt me with excuses about having kids. When I asked for a refund after deciding not to move forward with him, he ignored every message, stopped responding, and blocked me. No work was ever started, and no refund was ever issued. This is fraud, plain and simple. Anthony is a scammer who takes people's money and disappears. Avoid this person at all costs -- don't fall for the same trap.
