Went to dinner with a few friends. Dinner was great and drinks were good. A little to pricey for what they had for good.

Worst service anywhere. Takes forever to get waited on for a drink, if at all. Several similar experiences here.

Too loud, too dark, server spilled drink on my friend and didn't offer to compensate.

We were seated promptly and our drink orders went right in while we looked at the menu. I had never been here before, we asked what the server recommends. She was spot on. We started with a round of pulled pork nachos for the table. I went with shrimp tacos (aioli on the side as I was worried about spice level). Others at the table had the Reuben, chicken tacos, and house chili. Our drinks came out fast, the food was not far behind, our eyes were met with generous portions nicely garnished. The pulled pork nachos were exactly what we expected southerwestern-y cumin-y deliciousness assisted by sour cream, and fresh salsa goodness everything was perfectly seasoned. My shrimp tacos came with lime, avocado, and purple cabbage with spicy aioli on the side. The meaty shrimp with the crisp cabbage were all mellowed together by the creamy avocado. I would eat them for days. Everyone in my party cleaned their plates! The atmosphere is country-chic. There is a saloon decor vibe but it's also hipster steam punk meets old west. The main dining area is clean, spacious and was decorated for the holiday. By the time we left the dining room was a little over half capacity with folks peppered around the bar. It wasn't too noisy, there is country music in the background, but it was fine for conversation. The overall vibe is fun, light, and hospitable, plus there was a pinch of yule-time joy in the air. There is a front and rear entrance, parking is on the street. Around the back of downtown are assorted free parking lots there is also a free parking garage nearby as well, so parking is not a problem. Downtown Augusta is always dolled up this time of year with twinkling lights, snowmen, and such. I recommend The Whiskey Kitchen. Whether you need a space for a working lunch - there is Wi-Fi- looking for a special gathering for an occasion make The Whiskey Kitchen your destination!

I would love to know where they get the decor for this place. I'd imagine a lot of flea markets (fabulous ones)? It's hard to pick my favorite decor item because there are so many, but it's somewhere between the chairs shaped like hands and the giant silver octopus tentacle under the T.V. Ooo and the corner with all the clowns! Drinks are strong and cheap. The bartenders are friendly. There's a patio, but it's a bit small. There are plenty of comfy chairs/couches. They have live music pretty often, so if that's your thing, you'll be happy there on weekend nights. The only thing is the space is kind of small for live music, so it can get really loud. This is an excellent chill option if you're in Hallowell and want to skip bars that tend to get a bit fratty like The Quarry Taproom. Highly recommend!

Friends of ours wanted to play some pool after we had dinner nearby at Lucky Garden, so we did exactly that. It was a slow night and no one was waiting for the table, so we played about 4 or 5 games and had a lovely time. The decor is awesome, the bar is clean, and the staff were friendly. I've always had a good time here, and I enjoy the artwork too!

It was hot and muggy outside but we would've tolerated that for some live music - had we arrived an hour earlier. So we decided to sit inside. The AC was on full strength! So that was refreshing. I was a little chilly by the end of my meal, with goosebumps. But no complaints, like I said, it was muggy outside. I'll take the cool when I can get it! The waitress staff were BUSY today! Carefully marching around platters of many drinks in glasses, navigating foot traffic, small children nearly feral, some heavy doors, and a flight of stairs to the various levels of patio. Kudos to your athleticism for that accomplishment! Goodness! I helped the door open for one young lady that was sweating by bullets carrying about nineteen cold beers on one hand. Food was STELLAR! I had the "Ultimate Grilled Cheese" which was a trio of tasty melted gooey cheeses with applewood smoked bacon thick cut, a tomato pesto on garlic Parmesan crusted Naan bread. Served with a side of salt and vinegar fries. YUMMMMY!
