It was great having a wide variety to pick from! The owner was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful! She even called one of the artists to answer my daughter's question about the exact content in the artisanal wax due to allergies. The paintings and home decor items were unique and representative of the charming community. There were multiple rooms and one even showcased some beautiful paintings. We made several purchases and will definitely visit next time we are in the area!

I was in…read moreStevensville on a Sunday afternoon, just browing some of the local shops and enjoying a lazy Sunday, saw the sign for this place proclaiming that they had a wide variety of artists, so I thought I'd check it out. Once inside, instead of exciting local art, I found a lot of jewelry, soaps, and a LOT of photgraphs. That was about it. They had a sign in the back of the store indicating that there was more art that way, but all I found was more soaps. Nothing really jumped out at me to say "you MUST take me home!" To top it off, the proprietor kept following me around, not-so-discreetly acting like he was reviewing the books, straightening a display, or some other mundane task, but I really got the feeling that he was suffocating me, perhaps thinking I was going to steal something. When I decided to leave the store, another man (who I assume was the proprietor's friend) said to me, "You can't leave, you need to buy something." Well....yes, I can leave, and no, I don't need to buy anything.

I went in to get window treatments as well as framing -- the lack of interest to framing led me to find another vendor. I was able to order roller shades, but the batteries were ordered inconsistently -- half rechargeable and the other replaceable AA batteries. When asked to change them all to the rechargeable batteries the cost was prohibitive so I asked from them to be all AA. Supposedly, he was mailing them to my client's home directly; they never came. When asked again, they never came. I have asked again, and now he wants to charge me to get what was originally ordered. For a company so disorganized, it will come at a cost in time and money to you. I would highly advise using another local company even if they may be more expensive (there are several others) than Hubbard's, but you will pay for it in the long run if you choose to use Hubbard's. It pains me to discourage using a Cambridge company when I wish local companies would thrive, but in good conscience I cannot encourage anyone to use this company.

I was told he was out on a job and would try to cormer him when he comes back to the office and that maybe I will get a quote on Monday 5/4. Today 5/5 I am told there was no power and whenever they can figure out that issue I would get a quote. Perhaps this is a blessing is disquise. Imagine if I had hired them.
