Let's eat German today!
James C.

The food was over the top excellent! Recommend by David at Ed Morse while we were buying a car. The place had every table full and they were locals. That's how you know you found it. Server was very good she was slammed and handled it well. The place has a home feel and the decor was like eating at mom's kitchen. If you're able stop in and you will not be disappointed.

Zweibel Rhamschnitzel, Semmelknödel and Cucumber Salad. So dang yummy! Really like cucumbers but don't often eat them as they repeat all day, but couldn't resist. They were sere good. Service was fast and friendly. Food was excellent and came out hot and yummy. Ambiance was very authentic, cuckoo clock started cuckooing at noon.

The bad: the food was mediocre compared to food in Germany. Portions were small given the price. No alcohol for a German restaurant. Food didn't come out together for a party of 7. $1 charge to substitute a side that cost the same on the menu. Ambiance is not good. The good: service was ok, private room was available. Overall, wouldn't go back.

Chicken schnitzel 4 potatoes pancakes

The service was great. The food was so great. The chicken schnitzel and potato pancakes were the best I've ever had!!!

Service and food was quite good. Had a Reuben with horseradish rather than thousand Island dressing. Schnitzel bowl with spatzle was quite good. Don't think they had a liquor license, even though they had beer stains on every table. Seems to be a lot of people pick up taking the food home.

If you're coming through Sierra Vista, you gotta check out the German Cafe for a unique experience. No frills and nothing fancy here, but the food was fantastic!! The restaurant had German decor, pictures, etc which was a nice touch. The food was outstanding-I've never been to Germany to have authentic German food, but this was a great first experience. I would recommend the Schnitzel Sandwich! The coleslaw was a great addition as well. The service was also great-there was only one serving catering to 4-5 tables while we were there and was quick and attentive. We made a reservation just in case on a Saturday evening-probably unnecessary but it did get busy!

We went here with family for my sons birthday. The waitresses were absolutely amazing and we loved their German dresses. The food was delicious and from what my in-laws said, also authentic. It felt like we were invited to dine in a true German family home, as they served us on mixed glass-wear and they allowed us to use the "back room," or "party room" due to the number of us. It felt very comfortable and cute. Food arrived in a fair time (neither short or long time). Fresh tasting and hot. I got the tea and it came with a cookie and was in a cute little teacup with a saucer. I ordered the chicken schnitzel and want to go back again as soon as we can make it back over there! Highly recommend if you are looking for a good German restaurant to frequent.

The service, comfortable atmosphere, and authentic German food are all great. My go to meal, the schnitzel sandwich on a pretzel roll with french fries and coleslaw, is always super tasty.

This place is small but has a family vibe to it. The service was very friendly, but not overly fast. I'm assuming it's that way because they make it all from scratch. I ordered the chicken schnitzel, which was amazing. My sides were potato salad with cucumber salad. I will be back to try more of their amazing menu.

Location: The German Café is located on the 1200 blk of E Fry St. The restaurant is a one-story structure which, is located in a small strip business area. The parking lot shares a small number of spaces to park. Capacity: The restaurant is that of a small capacity, maybe 50 to 65 people. There are only a few spaces that fit 8 to 10 people at a time. The remaining tables only account for 4 people. The ambiance is that of a German setting with the large glasses and portraits on the wall. I only observed seating on the interior side of the restaurant. Discovery: I was advised of this restaurant via my classmates. I observed the yelp reviews, which was 4 stars out of approximately over 320 reviews and decided to check this restaurant out. Currently, this restaurant has 4 stars with 326 Yelp reviews. Initial service: We walked into a small hallway, which leads into the open dinning area, and we were greeted by nice staff, who advised that we could seat wherever. The waitress was professional, and we received our drinks in a timely manner. A short time later, the waiter received our dinner orders. Food: The food arrived within 20 minutes. The presentation of the food was adequate. The portion of the food was adequate, and the quality was good. The food was amazingly good. We had no complaints Alcohol: I did not try the alcohol that they had at the business. Orderly: The restaurant appeared to be clean. I did not observe the male bathrooms. Price: With the food I ordered, the bill was approximately $20 Grievance: None. Recommendation of business: I would recommend this business to people who want to try good German food. Conclusion / Overall: Based on the service, the quality / quantity of the food and the ambiance, I will give this restaurant 4 stars. I will return to this business while I am in Sierra Vista.

There are very few German food options in Tucson & I've found their food truck to be my favourite by far, even though their menu is limited to only several delicious different wursts with saurkraut & spicy German mustard. They are only open for a few hours a day, usually 3 times a week in 3-4 different locations. I frequent them in their Picture Rocks location every Tuesday & have never been disappointed.

Don't miss the tzatsiki and red bell pepper spreads for an appetizer. The stuffed grape leaves were also amazing. Looking over the menu everything sounded fabulous. The owner took my order and when I asked for the shish kebab he said "not the best". So I asked for his suggestion. He said I would like the meatballs better and that they were lighter. Well I listened and he was right. They treat you like family here and want you to like what they make you. My husband had the goulash and it was also spectacular. The salad before the meal was also a surprise star. Coated in lemon and olive oil and just the right salt and pepper it was a light delicious way to get your veggies. I will be back here frequently.
