Hands down the BEST hotel we stayed in during our honeymoon in Ireland! This place is professional, clean, inviting, and felt like home away from home. With a restaurant and bar on the premises, the gBK, this hotel was completely ideal for all of our needs! Before arriving, I had requested a room on the 7th floor that would be quiet and away from any noises of the restaurant, with a view of Connelly Street. And what a view it was! One night, my hubby and I ordered room service and just watched the sunset over the city because it was just that gorgeous. We ordered two Guinness of course, a plate of fish and chips, and their Irish burger, which was colossal! The fish and chips were amazing with the malted vinegar (which we are now addicted to) and his burger was finger licking fun, topped with onion rings and cheese. Our room was modern and fully updated with a flat screen tv, desk, coffee making set, refrigerator, phone, and a full bathroom with wonderful water pressure! A huge plus! The king size bed was comfortable, and they supplied us with extra pillows in one of the closets. Plenty of space to move around comfortably for two. We made frequent stops back to the room while we were site-seeing, just because of its wonderful location. Even if we went back to the room to use the toilets and just lay down for 10 minutes, it was well worth it. We ate one night or two downstairs in the restaurant and had a wonderfully romantic dinner by a window seat. Since it was fairly early for dinner, we decided to splurge and go for the three course menu for two with a bottle of house wine for 60 Euros. We had the beautifully prepared and flavorful vegetable soup with coriander to start. It was smooth and creamy - really perfect for a cold, damp day. For the main entree, my hubby had the Spinach & Ricotta Tortellini because he was craving pasta for the longest time, and I opted for the Grilled Shannon Salmon. Both dishes were very satisfying and presented beautifully. If you don't come to Limerick for anything else, I would strongly suggest coming here at least for a day to enjoy and feel a little luxe; we all deserve it. read more

Pretty decent hotel for the price. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable, the TV in the room is a flat screen 37 inch attached to the wall. This hotel is located near bars, restaurants, shops and Dunnes, which is a department store that also has its own grocery store. The hotel also validates parking, which costs less than 5 euros to park overnight which is pretty sweet. We also had breakfast at the hotel restaurant for 8 euros. Breakfast ranges from 8-12 euros depending on your choice of breakfast. read more

This hotel was centrally located and we were able to walk to places of interest. When we booked this hotel, we were told that they had a/c. To our surprise, our room was hot with no a/c. When we called the front desk, they told us that some rooms have a/c and were reserved for those staying more than one night and there were no more rooms available. Needless to say, we SUFFERED through a very warm night. You could only open the window a very small degree and their portable fan did not produce any air. Yes, a fan that didn't give you any palpable air. I had to investigate it, thinking maybe the blades were on backwards. No, it was a useless fan. To top it off, we could hear the drunks on the street. Thank heavens we only stayed one evening. Miserable!! If you don't mind the heat, the room was clean and the front desk person was friendly. read more

YES! Love this hotel...friendly staff, within walking distance of the train/bus station, reasonably priced, and centrally located for restaurants and attractions in Limerick. The staff was amazing and went above and beyond when I needed help unlocking my computer from the desk (completely my fault). Amazing friendly and willing to assist whenever they can. Rooms are clean and have everything that is needed for a nice stay. The rooms also have A/C, which is a plus (another hotel we stayed in Northern Ireland didn't!). If we are ever back in Limerick, we will be staying here! read more

My husband and I stayed here for two nights while on our honeymoon. We had a king bed room, and couldn't be happier. The staff are incredibly polite and helpful. In the room there is a hairdryer, ironing board+iron, air conditioning, and a selection of teas and French press coffee. The bed was comfy, however the pillows could've been more plush/soft. Bathroom a a good size with a long tub. Location is also a huge plus, you can walk to pretty much any attraction you might want to see in limerick. The restaurant in the hotel, Da Vincenzo, is also fabulous. read more

I wasn't expecting too much from The George so I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived early and the girl at the front desk checked us in early. I originally made a reservation for one since I was in town for an event but my girlfriend was able to come with me. I'm pointing this out because it will become relevant later in the review. We went to the room and found it to be fine as well. Unfortunately this is the last time I will mention The George positively. The day past away and we attended the event I was in town for, went out afterword for a show and arrived back to the hotel around 1:00 in the morning. There was a guy at the door who asked which room we were in. I gave him my name and room number, he then asked my girlfriend which room she was in. We responded with, "the same room". "It says only one." He replied while pointing at his list. "Okay, well clearly there was an error as you can see there are two of us." He responded again, "It says only one." In essence the girl who checked us in didn't update the reservation. Mistakes happen which normally is no big deal, but not in this case, because the paper said one and this guy was incapable of thinking outside the box. He continued to refuse to let us in so I asked for him to call a manager. Assuming the manger would come down and let us in. He didn't call a manager, he called another bouncer who basically said the same thing. After much back and forth we eventually made it to the front desk where a manager finally arrived. Most of us who have ever worked in customer service would think at this point the manager would say, sorry about the confusion, I'll take a look at in in the morning and let us be on our way. But he didn't, instead he defended the bouncers. According to the second bouncer/door man the reason they wouldn't let my girlfriend in is was because they don't run a brothel. Yes, that is literally what he said. Apparently in the past they have had a problem with guys picking up hookers in Limerick and bringing them back to the hotel. This is the only thing I can assume he meant by this statement. I would like to point out that my girlfriend was conservatively dressed as one of our stops that night was a jazz concert/poetry reading. This second bouncer was so dense and rude that my girlfriend had to pull me away from him as she said, "he clearly doesn't have two brain cells to rub together." and the only one who would have been hurt by me punching him the face would have been me. One reason is he skull was so thick he probably wouldn't have felt anything, and second is the obvious that I would have had the police called on me for assaulting the Neanderthal. Eventually they did allow us back to our room, the one we rented and had checked into. The room on the 5th floor had windows so thin that we could hear every noise on the street. My girlfriend was so mad by this point at the way we had been treated (like she was a prostitute trying to sneak in) felt ill the rest of the night and couldn't sleep. And of course I couldn't sleep due to the street noise coming from the super thin windows. The next morning when checking out, the manager who was working behind the counter didn't even offer an apology for the way we had been treated. So all-in-all, a terrible hotel with terrible service. read more

In the heart of Limerick. The location is great. On the same street as all the shops and restaurants. Free wifi and clean spacious bathrooms. They have free parking near by and that is always a must if you have a rental car like we did. The rooms are small but within normal standards for Europe. They have a onsite bar and restaurant that is very popular. We went down and had dinner, drinks and dessert. Very tasty and we enjoyed the atmosphere. They had a Dj and plenty of people dancing and singing along. Great hotel, no complaints. read more

"Frightening Experience" At first this hotel seemed to be decent but on my second night a man walked into my room with a key. I screamed so loud I'm sure I scared him as badly as he scared me. Apparently he had been given my room by accident at check in and without any internal door security he was able to walk right in. Nothing more than an apology from the manager. I have never had this happen before anywhere in the world and will not ever stay at this hotel again. read more

Location is excellent and only a few blocks from a supermarket, bars and restaurants. The rooms are in need of some upgrades (rugs are stained and air conditioning). You have to leave window open for air but a lot of yelling heard in streets that keeps you up. No gym, no amenities. 2 1/2 stars. read more

This was a 4 star hotel? It wasn't priced like one and now I know why. It wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't 4 star. Our room was very simple, but clean. The hallway smelled like fish when we 1st got off the elevator. Parking is a nightmare and you can expect to pay 8.50 euros per night at Harvey's Quay parking even AFTER validation at the hotel. The location is great, though, being right in the middle of the shopping district of Limerick. read more

Don't stay here if you want to get any sleep. Hotel wraps around outdoor smoking bar area. Very, very loud. Room smells like cigarette smoke from the courtyard. The staff will not change our room because they do not have housekeeping working at night to straighten the room we have been in for 15 minutes. Will not refund our money or move us to a different room. Told us that it was a city hotel so we should have expected it to be loud. Will never stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone. read more

We absolutely loved our stay here at George Boutique hotel! The staff was incredibly helpful throughout our stay and the hotel is perfectly situated in the city. Our room was the biggest we had during our European vacation and believe me, that's a plus! :) The on-site laundry facility was icing on the cake after spending 8 days in Europe. read more
