I called to speak about the issue. He bulldozed over me, was lnsanely rude, inappropriate to a paying customer. Randy, Made an appointment with me for 02/25/20 between 9 &12. He also texted me a ballpark cost of the 18' gate I need. He did not show up, I was sitting at home waiting, I don't get paid for not working. His excuse was that he texted me a ballpark figure. A ballpark price is not an estimate, he does not know where to mount the gate, he does not know the style and any details I want and need. At least he could have stated that he is not coming out. How in the world can we work out details and sign a contract if he is a now show? I was sitting at home and waiting for you, and taking off from work with no pay. I chose this place due to the price, product offered, and customer service. Worked with Kathy (I hope I spelled that right) on the purchase and scheduling to set up a new Garage Door opener. She was very friendly and answered all my questions. Due to Covid, all payments were done over the phone and paperless. She walked me through the steps and details on the unit. A week later, Mike came and installed the new opener. Incredibly courteous and professional, he even asked about permission to park on the driveway. After announcing he was vaccinated for Covid, he immediately went to work. He installed the new unit and hauled away the old unit in about 60 to 90 minutes, leaving no traces of being there. He helped grease the door and explained how to use the new opener. Note that the unit did not come with bulbs, and those are an extra charge. It was not a big deal, it let me have control of the type of bulbs that went into the unit. In California, incandescent and halogen bulbs are banned and some LEDs interfere with the remote from the signal, so finding the right bulbs are a bit tricky. My experience is positive with this company and would definitely recommend them. read more

I have worked w/ TGK many times it's basically hit or miss sometimes it's great other times not so great. I have 1 gate that has become unusable, had them out for a quote a few weeks ago, got the estimate and all it is for is $3000 worth of "caution & safety signs" + a $700 battery backup. None of which I asked about. Just called today got the run around - 1st answer was oh well we are way too busy to do iron work anymore - 2nd answer was well we've been out to your property many times and you never take our bids - haha omg what a joke. Dunno how they run stuff but when you need to have work done you get multiple quotes, right? What kind of owner goes w/ only the first bid. If they were nice not jerks and didn't waste my time hustling me for $3000 in signs that would be awesome. But no don't bother w/ them they are ridiculous. The manager guy I just spoke to was beyond rude, they never planned on giving me a quote for the repair they just wanted to hustle cash. TBH over the years a fair amount of cash has been paid to them obviously it's not enough. BEWARE!!!! If you don't want the job just say no thank you, instead of lying & wasting time. Also a service fee for 1 gate is $145.00, which was paid in full. **In response to Randy's comment I made Tyler, the person who came out to do the quote very aware that there was work done by another company, making it seem like I hid that info is dishonest & untrue. The fact is TGK CS ppl lied 2 times about why the quote that was sent said nothing about the repair of the broken gate. I noticed he failed to mention that in his response. Yes I called the manager person an a-hole cuz that's what he is. Full stop. A truly dishonest rude shallow company. Clearly cannot get it together, do not work w/ them. The fact the Randy still thinks I would call them for service is hilariously bonkers & delusional. I'm thinking Randy shouldn't send automated emails begging for a "good" review because it would really help them out. Really? Hmmm no thank you. I met with them months ago, spent 45 minutes showing a representative around our property. They were supposed to send us a quote. I called 3 weeks later to ask for the quote and the person on the phone said there was NO record of it. The Gatekeeper and John are absolutely the best. In 20 minutes, he went through a process of elimination to find the reason why our call box was not communicating with our house phone. We could not be happier with the job. We purchased brand new vinyl fencing from another company and needed and electric arm/motor installed on our driveway swing gate. Gatekeeper worked directly with them to ensure all specs were met and everything was perfect for the installation. Our installer spent all day on the job ensuring hardware was painted to match, install was flawless and the arm is basically unnoticeable from the front of the house. We had Gatekeeper come out over a year ago due to problems with our old system / fence and they were honest and upfront that our metal fencing/gate was rotted beyond repair and it would not be worth repairing the electronics given the poor state of the fencing. I appreciated their honesty, so when the time came to replace the fencing and install a brand new motor system, they were my obvious choice. Reached out to The Gatekeeper on a the Thursday before Easter. Monday morning I received a call from them and and appointment was set up for the same day. A text was sent when the technician was on the way. John was pleasant, very knowledgeable, and quickly repaired my non-functioning metal gate. The gate now opens smoothly and quietly, stopping correctly when opening and closing. He was amazing!! Had another company come out previously that wanted to charge me 500.00 for a new receiver which was not even the issue. My gate was fixed with only the service call fee. Wooden garage door in a condo complex originally built in 1929 stopped working. First company I brought out, the rep said he couldn't get the door up without damaging it and when we finally got access to the three door garage said that only a "commercial company" could repair it and that we should replace everything - door, door opener and entire rigging system. The Gatekeeper rep came out and, with a little effort, lifted the door without doing damage, reattached the hardware to the door, replaced the garage door photo eyes and then, because he didn't like how it sounded, gave the system some much needed lubrication.
