The open air roof

This place was wonderful and completely unexpected. It's so amazing to find a place in the city of Philadelphia that is right on the water. I was not expecting anything to be that good and that you would be just paying for the experience, but I highly recommend this place. We tried a glass of wine, which was not great and overpirced for what it was, but get the tacos. We got the chicken tacos and they were delicious! This place was such a hero and I can't wait to return! Perfect place for a date night.

Very chill and nice atmosphere. We visited on Saturday afternoon and it wasn't crowded at all. It was perfect weather even though it was overcast. The menu is a bit limited and I'd love to see some more options for drinks for sure. This is a great place to bring friends or out of town guests. Nice view, open and airy, just a great all around spot.

Spent a beautiful day in the city. Started here for lunch- too gorgeous outside not to sit and feel the breeze by the river. We enjoyed beers and ciders, plus a killer hotdog and turkey panini. QR codes at the tables, where you order and pay. After this, we strolled the vintage market in the Pier. Worth a visit.

This review is for the food. Very mediocre, but they at least give good portions and the service was fast at noon on a Saturday.

Such a cool vibe. Hidden in the back of an artists' enclave, this outdoor food and drink "garden" provides views of the water and Ben Franklin Bridge. Order F&B from a truck, get drinks and wait for text to let you know your food is ready. You gather food and utensils on cafeteria style trays and take to your table. My margarita cocktail was weak but canned beer delivered. Guac and salsa were yummy, as were chicken and veggie tacos. Lots of pups for petting, artists hard at work, and a nice breeze from the water. Negatives were an unpleasant aroma by the food truck and concrete flooring. Don't think our pup would be comfortable for very long. ‍

What a wonderful spot to have a drink under the stars. This place is right on the water with views of the river. They have a variety of beer on tap and canned. Server was wonderful and tons of seating in there outdoor garden. Its open roof and breezy.

Super cool area at the end of cherry street pier. You can't beat the unique location and view. Ordering system is super easy and convenient with QR code.

Beautiful view of the river and delicious food and drinks. Chill atmosphere and not at all crowded when we went.

TLDR: What was once a great place, has lost its way…read more We've been regulars at Fringe Bar, always enjoyed their trivia night and the food -- but they've lost their way in a most dramatic fashion and a moment when it mattered. We booked a table weeks in advance for a fun family meal, but upon arrival the maitre d' informed us that the inside restaurant had been closed for a mariachi musical evening and they were going to seat us on a picnic table outside. Putting aside the fact that it was 90 degrees and muggy, and that one of our guests was 85 years old, we said "ok." The appetizers and drinks came promptly and then suddenly, we were blasted with mariachi music out of a speaker next to our picnic table. We asked the manager to turn the music down and it was ok for a little while, but then someone came outside and turned it back up. It was so loud, you couldn't speak. And remember: this was the Fringe Bar - blasting Mexican music was not what we signed up for. We politey but firmly told the waiter that if he wanted a good tip, he would turn the music down, and he said that since we were a party of five, our tip was automatically charged. WTF! Fortunately, the manager got it, and she turned the volume down again. And it stayed down for the rest of the meal. The food was not as good as previously -- the chicken sandwich was overcooked and dried out, the rice bowl as underseasoned and the rice was overcooked, and the french fries soggy, not crisp. The caesar salad lettuce was crisp. Thankfully! When the check came, it totaled $310 with the 20% automatic tip. I had ordered a Tito's on the rocks and they charged an extra dollar for Tito's and an extra $5 for the "rocks". I wish I had kept the receipt because I would posted it. This was the first time that I was charged for the "rocks". Rather than complaining again, I'm posting this review for others to see. Fringe Bar - adios (para siempre)

The staff was so quick to take orders and deliver food even though it was pretty busy! The salads were OK, lacked a lot of flavor, but the beer was great! I went with a preset flight first and loved three out of the four beers! The only disappointing part was that they were not bottled for purchase! If you have a chance to stop by, try the grapefruit or orange! Both winners in my book!

And also a lot of options for flights and stuff like that. My boyfriend and I were pretty hungry by the time we came in so we ordered the burgers since our server said they were known for them. We were so disappointed when they came out - they were literally the blandest burgers I have ever tasted in my life. The ambiance of the restaurant is really nice though. They have outdoor seating for when the weather is nice and a LOT of seating inside. It's almost set up like a giant cafeteria so there is a lot of space for big parties. Overall, I'd come here to get a couple drinks with my friends and maybe an appetizer or two. But don't expect the food to be anything great.

The place has a warm vibe, and full of folks doing the same thing. We seated ourselves, and within 10 minutes had a table full of snacks (GIANT PRETZEL and trio of fries) and various beers and cocktails. It has kind of a beer hall style of ordering, where you can either walk up to the snack kiosk and order on a touch screen, or do it right from your phone. This is an excellent system to accommodate all levels of drunken neurosis. Everything was good, but I also indulged and probably can't recall much in more detail than that. Will definitely come back for any time I need to bring a group, but also don't want to be wrestling for a free table.

The kitchen was also able to make modifications to some of our food items upon request. Parking is tough, it's Fishtown after all.
