He came out to replace a broken spring and do a tune-up, and while working on the door he found a bent sprocket on the garage door opener. He showed my husband exactly what was happening and explained how the bad spring had been putting extra strain on the opener, stretching the chain and damaging the sprocket. There was no vague "you need this too" sales pitch. He showed us the problem, explained why it needed to be addressed, and only did the work that was necessary. The garage door is now fixed and running noticeably quieter than before. I also really appreciated his communication. I made the mistake of using Yelp's "request a quote" feature and got absolutely bombarded by some companies, with multiple calls and messages over a 24-hour period. Ramirez's Discount Garage Doors did none of that. His communication was prompt and helpful without being excessive, and there was no aggressive sales pitch over the phone. Affordable, honest, quick, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. 10/10 experience. I would absolutely recommend Ramirez's Discount Garage Doors for any garage door repair.

Everything was done and fixed by 10:45AM, so it was less than 3 total hours from noticing the problem to having a solution. I can't say enough about how quick and professional they were. Jason was able to diagnose the issues in literally seconds and he kept me aware of the process and I didn't feel in the dark about anything. Pricing was consistent with what you'd expect from competitors as well. Just an all around great experience and I couldn't recommend them more.

My tech, Evan, arrived on-time and got right to work. He only needed to replace the circuit board in the unit. So, I asked him why he was removing the metal bars that anchor it to the ceiling. "Because it wasn't done right when it was installed & it bugs me". He did that, at no charge, because he has pride in his work & the company he works for. Appreciated that so much because how else would I have known? Then Evan took the time to help us program the new remotes, apply lubricant, & look over everything to ensure both of our doors are working properly. Thank you, Apex, for treating us like family.

I hired this company based on their supposedly stellar reviews, but choosing them was a huge…read moremistake. The entire installation process was incredibly disappointing, and the final result is completely unacceptable. Here is exactly what went wrong: Unprofessional Timing: The installer showed up late, setting a poor tone for the appointment right from the start. Rushed and Careless Work: The installer was clearly in a massive hurry to leave and did not take the time to do even the most basic functional checks to ensure things worked as expected. Dismissive Attitude: They barely spent any time looking at my existing garage door opener before outright declaring it was "broken" and wouldn't work. Ironically, after they left, I was able to get it working perfectly fine myself after just a few tries. Improper and Unsafe Installation: The new door is completely unbalanced. If you manually open a properly installed door halfway, it is supposed to stay in place. Mine does not--it aggressively shoots all the way up. This clearly shows that the springs are not balanced or tensioned correctly. If you are looking for careful, competent work from someone who won't rush through the job, look elsewhere. I strongly regret trusting the reviews for this business and would not recommend them to anyone.

When it was time to get a pro involved I reached out to Zero Fox, along with a handful of other local businesses. Several companies responded quickly and seemed eager to get my business, but Zero Fox was the only one to demonstrate an understanding of the specific problems at hand. I have a general mistrust in big businesses and salesmen who unnecessarily upsell you or recommend replacing serviceable components to take advantage of their non-expert customers and pad profits. Zero Fox was the only business who seemed to actually read the diagnostic information I had collected and reported while working on the system myself. Emilio listened to me and thoroughly investigated our system and components. before recommending action. He clearly and patiently explained what he was seeing and how he thought things would play out in the long term with and without intervention. It was clear that he understood the system components and how they function together holistically. It was also clear he was really trying to work with us toward an ideal long-term solution and not just take our money. As I suspected, the motor unit was at the end of its life. We scheduled time for Emilio to come back the next day and install a new one. He had not yet taken any payment, but when he left that day he had already tuned up our door significantly so that it was opening and closing more smoothly (I had been manually opening it for a few days after the motor unit began failing). He made sure that the door, hinges, rollers, tracks, and spring were clean and functioning better so they wouldn't put unnecessary strain and wear on the new motor. Emilio's customer service and technical experience is above and beyond. I highly recommend working with Emilio and Zero Fox Garage Door Services!
