Bless her heart, she's a great colorist but not the best at cutting hair. She left it with frayed ends, choppy, more damaged looking than it was and still thick and hard to manage. Imagine asian mullet. Yup. Help! So on to get help. In the course of 5 yrs of living in Houston, I would have to say Duc was the best at cutting my hair. I took his first available appointment. He asked, "What are we doing here?" I explained, we need to fix this sad asian mullet. There was just no way I was going to live with this horribly confused haircut. Oh my word did Duc deliver! He blended and lighten the weight of my hair beautifully. The next friend who saw me couldn't believe how my new haircut made me look so differently! I know, sorry i didn't have a before and after pic guys. But hell no, was I going to be documented with that horrible cut! LOL I am deeply grateful to Duc and the wonderful people at Envision Salon. My mother trimmed my hair when I was a girl and there were only a handful of trips to a Fantastic Sams or other budget-friendly "salons" which always traumatized me with horrible haircuts. I went to Tony & Guy to have my hair done for prom back in the day and was NOT impressed with the work or the attitudes. So since then, I've generally avoided doing anything other than buying a box of color on sale at CVS to spruce up my natural boring mousy brown hair and trimming it every so often myself. I've been getting by with the basics so that I'm at least put together enough to not look like a lagoon creature every day. Definitely time for a life upgrade, amirite?? I searched for salons in my area and came across a few, but Meraki Salon stood out based on their before and after photos. Seeing the amazing work the ladies actually do at Meraki squashed any fears I had about ending up with yet another disaster on my head. And all the positive reviews helped a sista out too. Rose is like my dream hair stylist. She was sweet, funny, professional, and above all else an amazing hair ARTIST. She totally listened to what I wanted and my concerns then gave me excellent advice and incredibly useful tips about doing my hair. I was completely at ease with her and ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY NEW HAIR. I had a rather dramatic (for me) color change from my crappy mousy brown to a red/blonde ombre. SHE DID NOT DISAPPOINT. I love it and I've gotten compliments from just about everyone who's seen the new 'do. Rose blew me away with her skills and personality. Jen was fabulous-easy to talk to, listened to what I wanted, cut quickly but not at a sacrifice for quality, and my hair was looking good when she was done. The salon is a ways down Cypress-Rosehill (keep going, it's there), and located in a little house-done up very cute inside. I made my next appointment before leaving and have found my local stylist.

I had been using the type of extensions that caused me to loose much of my own hair. I also had hair falling out constantly. I love the system that is used at HEH. They use "locks" rather than glue and it looks more natural and it does not fall out when I brush my hair. Plus no more clogged drains from loose hair.
