I purchased a couple of tickets for the 9pm Valentines comedy show, not realizing that this place is a shotgun style narrow bar with minimal seating space. This place was beyond capacity and my partner and I were sardined somewhere between nowhere and a wall, trying to desperately make way for the struggling bartenders who looked like they were working for satan. I thought I was attending a seat down comedy venue and walking inside this place made me feel scammed. I have to say that the Jazz venue next door looks legit and I'll be checking that out instead!! read more

Wanted to check this out as it's in the neighborhood and walk by it often. Finally stopped in and saw tix online for $25 but got to the door right before the show started. We paid at the door $10 each either cash or Venmo. Glad we waited to buy walking in. 2 drink minimum and unsure how close of a tab they keep on it. We did each buy 2 drinks. Drinks were so so but went for the show. Wish there were more options and bites. The space is pretty small inside. Cute for having a casual drink but felt a bit tight for the show. I do appreciate the tvs at the bar that show the stage as well so everyone can see. The people smoking right outside the door was pretty bothersome to me as it basically felt/smelled like it could've been the person next to me. The comedy show was pretty disappointing sadly. It was too amateur and most didn't feel funny. We left shortly before it ended but was nice to check it out briefly. read more

She was so kind and full of energy, making the whole experience even better. And I can't forget Shaba, the adorable dog who completely stole the show. Chill vibe. Friendly bartenders but the old washed up guy who introduces the comedians is highly inappropriate and it would benefit the club to have someone new. He's crappy and a drunk. He makes the place look outdated. The doesn't need that outdated vibe. Even more now given our government. We don't need old washed up guys trying so hard. I'd come back but I hope the guy can stay in his own lane. My first time here and he made me feel so uncomfortable. Such a fun new comedy club in SF!! We got free tickets on Eventbrite for the 7pm Saturday show, but there's a second show 8:45pm and shows every day of the week. As soon as you walk in, you can tell the love that was put into building this place, with dark teal walls, paintings, gold light fixtures, beautiful chandeliers, and a very well-stocked bar. I heard this is the only Black-owned comedy club in the Bay, and it's landed with a splash. The doorman was really warm and welcoming, and it took a few minutes to get our orders in at the bar but it was worth the wait... the drinks were incredible. I got the passionfruit mocktail and added vodka, my friend got the basil mocktail, and my other friend got the Coffee Kicktail (basically an espresso martini), and all the drinks were delicious. I loved the passionfruit drink and later got a second one because it was perfectly balanced with sweet and tartness, I could taste the alcohol a little bit but I can convince myself it's juice, AND, there was a tajin rim to top it off with a little spice. Would go back to the bar just for this drink. You really do have to get here early to get a good seat near the mic. There's plenty of seating towards the back of the bar and on the balcony inside, but the comedian and mic may not be in your eyeline. We sat upstairs on the balcony and the energy was electric, everyone inside was just really happy to be there, enjoying drinks, and very soon laughing A LOT. There were quite a few comedians in the lineup (no intermission), and Stroy the owner had to be my friends and I's favorite. He was so funny, really went back and forth with the crowd, and made everyone feel at home. All the other comedians were great too, some with darker humor and some with lighter humor, so I feel like there's a bit for everyone. We couldn't stop laughing the whole way through, and left a tip for the comedians at the end. I am really impressed by how Stroy and his team makes this place feel like an intimate community-- it was easy to talk to the comedians after, the bartenders were super nice, and my friends and I even talked to some of the other patrons. It's hard to find such a welcoming and diverse space even in San Francisco and I am really excited that there's a new place to add to that list. Hoping to be regulars here :) read more

Granted it's free so we can't be too picky. But not even worth the effort. First, there is no where to sit. You have to get two drinks to even try and see if there is seating upstairs. It's sold as a comedy show, but really it's a bar. The show doesn't start on time. I had to leave because I could not stay in that environment very long, so no idea if the comedians were good once they actually came on. I came in on a Thursday night and the bartender Sarah was a sweetheart (and her cocktails were amazing) My friend even asked her to make him something off the menu and he loved it so much he got two more! I was really disappointed with this place on Saturday night. They billed the comedy show as a pride lgbt comedy show yet only one gay comedian. You had to pay for the tickets, then they asked you to donate more money in a bucket, then when it came time for the drinks apparently they decided to charge way more than their menu stated. This is the funny part it was a special pride menu with prices so you would think the prices would be accurate? Nope. After spending $70 on tickets, our 4 drinks we had to have came out to $85 ! How the hell? Then before we saw the drinks were not the marked price we had given them money in there bucket. A show that was clearly misrepresented and seemed more like an open mic with some of the comedians not remembering the joke or being very off, turned into almost a $200 show. If I had known that I would never have gone. $200 can get you a nice dinner and a show anywhere, we were it even given food. The funniest person there was probably the bouncer! Not a place I plan on going back to. Felt like they were just trying to rip off gay people. Also it was listed in two separate places as two seperate events to lure people in. The marketing was clearly a scam. read more

I love the cozy setting of the club and how they try to encourage everyone in the audience to be interactive with the artists on stage. The bartenders work really fast and make sure that everyone is taken care of even if they're not sitting at the bar. read more
