The restaurant is found on King Street, one block parallel to waterfront street, Strand. Walking to the restaurant, one immediately notices small groups of men, sitting on the sidewalk and standing in front of a small grocery across the street from Cibone. They are in conversation, drinking beers, and the aroma of cannabis (legal in St Croix) wafts over the air. The scene was a bit disconcerting initially, but we walked to the restaurant and after dinner to the car, unmolested, barely noticed by the Cruzans. The restaurant is housed in a wooden structure, perhaps a house in prior years. Entering, the proprietor sits right of the smallish bar, the bar right of entry to the eatery. There are tables within the main structure, and tables left of entry on the covered patio. We were immediately greeted by the staff and directed to our table on the patio, patio seating always the preference of my dear lady. Micah, our waiter, filled our drink order, and presented the days menu, written on a small "blackboard" at the tableside. The menu was somewhat limited, and unfortunately, seafood dishes that we had read were not available, a consequence of the rough seas courtesy of Beryl. The restaurant serves fresh seafood, from boat to table...our misfortune. The restaurant offers a full bar, but interestingly, there is no wine list which one might peruse before choosing. We inquired of sauvignon blanc, and our requests were satisfied...the label we were never advised. We thought this curious, but none the less, the wine was satisfactory. We began our exploration of the menu with the Cibone crab cake. Three are offered on plate, with lines of sauce crossing the squares of cakes. Reviews had rated these cakes quite highly, but frankly we considered them heavy on breading, and light on crab. The appetizer was a bit of a disappointment. We chose the salmon, and unhappily, the fish was a bit overcooked, somewhat dry, lacking adequate sauce. The second entree was the grilled shrimp, and this dish was the better of the two, the shrimp well finished. But in truth, our expectations were of a true culinary delight, having read the reviews. The offerings overall were good, but not exceptional. For a satisfying meal, Cibone would satisfy most palates. The staff throughout were welcoming, of good cheer, but at times the service a bit slow. In fairness, there is a solo chef working with one sous chef at his side. This restaurant is very popular with the locals, but after our visit, we consider Cibone a work in progress, offering not elegant cuisine, but rather menu items borne of a home grown, self taught chef.

We chose a sunset seating and the pictures are unreal. one of the most beautiful restaurant views because the water is right there- if you sit on the lower patio you might get sprayed a little! I asked for a creamy espresso martini and the bartender got it perfect- I ordered two! The other cocktails were good as well. The hot crab dip was amazing! I loved that the pumpkin pasts wasn't overwhelmingly pumpkin- it was just perfectly balanced. All of the vegetables and sauces on the Buddha's feast were delicious, but since it was just vegetables, I wish there had been more volume because event after sharing an app I was still hungry. We got the rum cake for desert, and we LOVE rum cake. However, if you had told me this was just chocolate cake, I would have believed it. It needed much more rum/syrup! Still a great meal in a fantastic setting, and we will be going back!

The food. MEH. I love carpaccio but this was underwhelming and didn't have enough acidity to balance the plate. I ordered the lobster pasta. Wow -what a disappointment. The lobster was over cooked and chewy. The sauce (bisque) was flavorless and needed salt and a bit of heavy cream badly. The pasta was way past al dente. Had to ask for bread- was told "had to see if they had enough for a side of bread." Ran out of risotto for a 730 pm reservation. Offered two specials but I had to ask the price. (Pet peeve--tell me the special price). And then the server wasn't sure and had to go ask. Go only for the location and view --not the food. The mocktails were both delicious. Points for having a mocktail list!

Very off-putting and frustrating as you are on an island that barely had 4g cell service most times. I bugged them enough and they made the reservation for me. Funny part is, place was empty. First and foremost, the food was good. More craziness now. They start by telling me to disregard what the menu says as a certain item does not have this side, but another side. We did that for like 4 items. When it came time to order I asked if I could substitute a side of mashed potatoes for what came with that dish. No. No substitutions. They are the ones that started the whole substitutions game. Not very flexible. I could understand it if it was like a Friday or Saturday night, nope, Tuesday. My steak was cooked to perfection and was not over-seasoned. Exactly how I would want a steak. Was so good. Potatoes great as well. Had good lumps with excellent flavor. Same for asparagus. Crab cakes were great as well. They just need to work on their customer service instead of acting like customers were bothering them. I understand that they get drunk and vacation travelers, but we were a super friendly bunch and easy going. Frustrating when the staff set the tone of the experience. Food game is on point here. As long as you are Ok with being talked to in a peasant tone you should be fine. If you are hangry, might try another place as this may put you over the edge. We loved the patio area and the hanging lights. The ambiance was great. Tip: Gratuity was already included in our check. They don't mention it and are limiting themselves on how much we would normally tip. That was on them. Great food though. Just weird practices and attitude at the establishment. Thanks!

Previously, upon hearing recommendations from local friends and from Lyric Sails (which included a discount), we booked a reservation for 6 people at restaurant "Six Nine". After the sail, we approached Six Nine for our confirmed reservation at 7:30 to find the restaurant closed. We scurried around town to end up eating tacos at a crowded bar. Very embarrassing! A bad experience that could have been mitigated by rejecting the reservation so that we could find another restaurant or at least informing me when the restaurant decided not to open. Once your eyes have adjusted, you can start reading the truly extensive cocktail menu. There are both classic tiki and newer creations available, and during happy hour, some of the simpler drinks (like Mai Tais) are discounted. If you are new to tiki, you might get frustrated with some of the service times, but each drink can be so complex, they take a little longer than your average rail to make (but it's worth it for the layered flavors). Breaker's Roar is my favorite bar in Christiansted, and it is great either as a first drink of the night spot, or as a final hurrah. I have never had a bad drink from them, and I don't even have a favorite, everything I have tried is so delicious. Each drink also comes in a carefully selected vessel, and that id definitely part of the equation in placing an order. The last time we went, there was also a small bites menu that was a pleasant surprise. We liked the two plates we tried, but already had dinner reservations. Next time we go back, we plan to eat a full meal. This place is a must if you are on the boardwalk!
