Plus, when uncontrollable plan changes popped up, he was incredibly accommodating and offered great solutions. They truly brought our vision to life. Amazing contractor!!!…read more Lawrence and his crew did a complete renovation of our basement to build an apartment for my parents. From the design through completion, it was a great experience. I found them here on Yelp and I obtained 3 quotes for the job. I had the quotes reviewed by an independent contractor who told me L&R's quote was what the job should reasonably cost. I called 4 references who all had a similar and very positive experience. Lawrence always communicated with me about schedule which had not been the case with other contractors. They were there working on my job every day, not showing up once or twice a week like some others. Any fluctuation to schedule or budget was discussed and agreed upon by both parties. We had a couple of unexpected plumbing delays but that was due to the original build not being up to the current code. I changed direction on a couple of design decisions and Lawrence was right there with me. The work was exceptional and the end product is amazing. I have had the nightmare contractor experience so was very cautious. This was exactly as the process should be and I plan to have them back in the fall to do more work. I give them my highest recommendation!

In an attempt to have my house perfect for my parents visit last year we had Will out for a VERY loooong-list of jobs ( power washing/ sealing/ deck and fence repair, toilette repair etc etc etc) I noticed after he left he was kind enough to throw in a pressure wash of our front walkway so that it looked nice and new for my parents visit! Then, earlier this week, we had a horrible plumbing fiasco at our home. Without going into graphic detail, let's just say it was a really crappy situation that required IMMEDIATE attention. Will at House Call Contracting was able to rearrange his schedule to be at our house within two hours, and he coordinated and oversaw the effort to fix the problem over the following three days. In addition to being able to fix anything, Will is responsible, courteous and shows up ON TIME!!! I really can't imagine ever using another plumber/contractor.

While awaiting closing on our new house we worked with Melissa and the team at SR to determine that…read morethe changes we wanted to make (close up an open living room with French doors to create a study and take down a pony wall separating the kitchen and family rooms) were possible and they could meet us at the house right after closing to give us a proper estimate. They committed to starting the project right away so that the work would be done before we moved in several days later. As promised, once closing day came an estimator for SR was at the house within an hour of me receiving the keys and was able to take specific measurements and pictures. A couple of hours later we had a detailed quote and agreed to move forward. They said they would be there 7am the next morning. Little did I know they would show up with a small Army to make good on their promise to have the work done before we moved in. The team moved quickly and efficiently. I exchanged numbers with the foreman so that they could easily text any questions. The team was very professional - worked diligently and most importantly they took the time to explain what they were doing and gave me options and recommendations for solutions to challenges that arose. The team consisted of many specialized skills that were brought in when needed. They did an excellent job coordinating who was needed when and made sure no time was wasted. Trim specialists were brought in to tie into the existing trim in the former living room and a hardwood flooring specialist was brought in to tie into the existing floors for where the pony wall once stood. It seemed like everyone on the team enjoyed working there and with each other and they all had direct access to the owner Sam to keep him up to speed and make sure I was happy with the work. I appreciated being able to check in with Sam a couple of times and he went out of his way to make sure I was happy with the solutions his team came up with. At the end of the day the team worked long days to create a much more usable house for us and meet their promise of finishing their work by the time we moved in. Their work has transformed the house for us and had made it so much more usable. As we settle in (and save up some more $$) we can't wait to have Sam and his team at SR transform other parts of the house for us!!

Design Pro was reasonably priced, the workers were polite and friendly, and they were on schedule. They also did a wonderful job. Showed up on time and worked until they got the job done. Robby Hines and his team were great. We received a couple of estimates for the porch work, and theirs was very comparable. We will use them again.

They installed an HVAC in our older home with no insulation causing leaks in our ceiling. In one of their bathroom remodels the tile is cracking after two years and there were gaps in the tile and near the counter at installation. Writing this review 2 years post purchasing our home because their shower shelf is so uneven that a full bottle of shampoo just slid off the shelf (as it does almost daily) and almost hit our newborn. Design looks amazing on the outside, but unfortunately attention to detail in the basic weren't. Including screenshots of my home from their Instagram to confirm they were the contractors.

After meeting with a design specialist and waiting 4-6 weeks for a virtual rendering and floorplan, the proposed design felt bare minimum, outdated, and lacked creativity. Worst of all, the quoted estimate was almost triple our stated budget, largely due to high overhead as a design-build firm. While the company offers detailed process overviews, longstanding experience, references at the onset, and a good warranty program, we found the design quality, speed, and pricing disappointing overall. Attend their seminars for educational value, but if you value cutting-edge design, this firm may not be the right fit.

We subsequently had them bid on a bathroom renovation about two years ago, but they were grossly overpriced - nearly twice the bid of the contractor we chose. If you have lots of money and don't want to be or can't be involved in the daily management of your project... this might be the company for you. Their general workmanship is good and they are responsive with ongoing jobs. However, they are very expensive - almost a minimum job price - and they are not responsive to warranty questions and issues in the timeframe that follows the completion of a job. They've simply become too expensive for us...even given our past engagement with them.

When I didn't have a big enough vehicle to pick up the supplies (that I'd told him I would buy & pick up), he was able to do that for me. He had to make multiple runs to the hardware store to pick up supplies when I hadn't gotten enough, but never complained and was so kind about it. I wanted my open space living/dining room paneled and mostly color drenched on 3 walls (minus the ceiling), and I wanted wainscoting and painting on the lower third of three of the walls in my guest bedroom. This is the first time I've done big enough work in a house I owned to need to hire someone, and my experience was great. They did a great job cleaning up every day & putting my tv back so I could watch World Cup matches at night . When I'm ready for the next series of renovations, I will definitely use Alpha Remodeling, and I highly recommend them!

He answered a ton of my questions about the process so that I knew what to expect and was able to do the job the same week. His price was completely reasonable, especially after I saw the quality of the work. I'm so grateful to William for restoring the tub/tiles in the bathroom and making it look brand new again and for being so easy to work with. When you're stressed about home projects there is a lot to be said for someone making the process easy for you and that's what Willam did.
