Ms. Honey Do did great work for a full renovation of a one-bedroom condo in Silver Spring. Their price was good for this market (and I think another reviewer who gave them a low rating just doesn't understand what things cost ... ) They were prompt, efficient, great at communication, worked with strict condo rules about noise/trash, etc. They also worked with us to keep costs down, such as letting us assembly the IKEA kitchen cabinets to save money. My husband and I contracted Ms. Honey Do to do some renovation projects in our home. We asked them to install a wetbar in the basement (with real brick backsplash and unfinished open shelves and cabinets, which they stained for us to match the floor). We also had them drywall to create a doorway to our master bath/closet area (previously open) then stain and hang a sliding barn door. Additionally, we had them paint the bedroom. We are really happy with the outcome as well as the excellent communication and customer service for all of the projects. They consistently worked carefully, did quality work, and never rushed the final product. We really appreciated that Pat and her team communicated with us throughout the process, checking in after each step to ensure that everything was to our expectations. When we had an unexpected issue matching the stain to our existing furniture, Pat and her team were super helpful and patient in problem-solving to find the perfect fix. They really went above and beyond to make sure that everything was perfect. Previously, we had worked with a contractor that was very unscrupulous. He added on unexplained charges, was very unreliable and borderline sketchy in his communication, and did really shoddy work. We were nervous to work with another contractor because we didn't want to be taken advantage of again. It was so refreshing to work with Ms. Honey Do because we were able to trust them. Their pricing was fair, reasonable, and easy to understand. They followed through on everything they said they'd do, plus more. We had a gutter that was broken in the yard, which they fixed without us even asking, just to be helpful. I cannot begin to express how great it was to work with a company who is ran by genuinely kind, honest people. It was truly a pleasure. An added bonus is that they're woman-owned and do great work in the community. We will definitely be working with Ms. Honey Do again, and I would highly recommend them to others. read more

Our previous contractor had replaced some of our front porch decking due to the poor condition of the wood, however he hadn't reinforced the new decking under the porch column. This meant that the new wood was bowing where the column sat. This was certainly not ideal and honestly a year after being replaced it looked dangerous. We had Ms. Honey Do fix this. They installed new, thicker, wood under the column and made sure that this was securely fastened to the rest of the porch. They fixed the porch quickly, were very friendly, and the work looks sound. The company was very communicative (we had to reschedule once due to rain) and were very accommodating. Overall I highly recommend. We have a few other projects around the house and will be contacting Ms. Honey Do again. read more

They were terrible. They were hired to repair my home, a tree fell through the side and through the exterior wall. They were asked to repair the hole in the side and treat the mold damages. They did not repair it, rather put siding up (the incorrect color)to cover the hole. They did not replace the wet insulation but rather covered it up. They painted my daughters bedroom ceiling to cover up the mold. This allowed the mold to continue its growth caused thousands in further mold damage to our home. When I tired to talk to them about the repairs they told me they did what they were asked to do, they showed no remorse for putting my family in danger. I was a tenant at 20244 Shipley Ter #201, Germantown MD. I moved out on May 31, 2016 and was waiting for my security deposit to be returned. I knew there were some minor things need to be fixed, so I was not expecting the whole deposited to be return. I got a refund check from the management company (Wright Management LLC), who they contracted with Ms. Honey Do LLC to do the repair, and i could tell that the price Ms. Honey DO LLC charged was way over-priced. If anyone was to repair the house, no one would've use them. Here are what they charged (i wish i can upload the invoice, but it does not let me) 1. Replaced 4 burner plates 2. Placed round toilet seat 3. Fixed trim with white caulk in front of tub also 4. Replaced Hardwired combo and installed 2 new smoke detectors in 2 bedrooms 5. Cleaned dryer vent 6. Installed a new shower rod 7. Installed AV filters and Vent hood filter 8. Bathroom removed from door 9. Curtain rod tightened in dining room 10. Installed 2 GFCI in kitchen Drain clogged adn garbage disposal hung. MAterial $247.07 Labor 8 hours x $80/hour= $640 TOTAL $847.07 This is ridiculous. I believe they have teamed up with wright management llc and faked invoices. read more

I contracted Ms. Honey Do to repair my Whirlpool deluxe dishwasher which was not draining all the water from the bottom of the dishwasher and causing the water to pour out onto my hardwood kitchen floor. Pat, at Ms. Honey Do ( MHD) assessed the problem as follows: " Dishwasher*** Currently the dishwasher does not drain all of the water*** MHD believed it is because the dishwasher is not sitting level. Install some wood to level out the flooring under the dishwasher. " She came out remove the dishwasher , install a piece of wood on the floor and re-installed the dishwasher. She ran the wash normal cycle , and the dishwasher was running fine as usual but did not stay for the end of the cycle. I paid her and she left. I later called to inform her that the problem persists. After several calls, she returned with another technician and stated that she had contacted the manufacturer who said it must be a soap problem; so she asked what kind of soap i used; same as i have been for years , Cascade. She and the other tech then flushed the drain and restarted the dishwasher with the detergent and again left before the cycle ended. They suggested that I should run the dishwasher at least twice again with no detergent to " clear" the drain line. I followed their suggestion and each time the water remained in the bottom of the dishwasher and flowed onto my hardwood floor. They later informed me that it was a dishwasher detergent problem and that i should read my owner's manual and that they had done all they could do and didn't know what else to do. My response to them was, " You can refund my $207.00 that I paid to you and you did not repair my dishwasher pursuant to the contract". I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau setting forth the same facts and requested a refund of my money. We went through several processes with the BBB complaint department and Ms. Honey Do refused to refund my money; I was even prepared to go through arbitration or mediation to resolve the issue. But they were not cooperative and refused to refund any of my money. What was really insulting was the poor customer relations that they displayed by accusing me of causing the problem because of the detergent I used., when in fact, MHD's Technician originally assessed the problem as '"Dishwasher not sitting level". The leveling did not resolve the problem of water not draining from the dishwasher . It became clear that she (Pat) nor anyone else at that company knew what the problem was and didn't know how to solve the problem and repair my dishwasher. Had several protest to get done. The owner quoted me an hourly rate When she came to perform the job she said one particular task had to be performed by one of her subcontractors. The subcontractor came, performed the job within an hour. When she came back for payment, she said his minimum rate was 400 just to come out. I was not inform of that until time of payment. A price change was never mentioned, quoted or discussed. I will never use their services again. read more

I called Ms Honey Do, LLC to get an estimate on a small roof leak. They were very prompt in coming out. They assessed the area, gave me a price of 450.00 and was out two days later to fix the problem. A week later came the 1st of heavy rains. It not only rained outside, but inside in the spot that was supposed to have been fixed and in a new spot. I called back to let them know. The contractor came out and said "we'll be back when it stops raining ". We put buckets down to catch the water. They came out a second time, charged an 250.00 to fix again. I asked that they test the area before leaving. They said they would come on Thursday. In the meantime it rained but nothing came in. Ms. Honey Do called to check if it rained in, I said no, so they canceled the testing. Well two days later it poured and poured and poured some more. Needless to say it was now raining in 3 spots. The contractor came out again and charged an additional 425.00. We eventually had to put tarp down until we called an actual roofing company. I was told by Ms Honey Do, that unfortunately repairs are not guaranteed, so I lost out with being reimbursed. Maybe just maybe roofing is not their specialty. read more

Ms. Honey Do is a very good company to have do any work done in the home. They were so professional and supportive when I had a ceiling collapse due to another company's bad installation of a ceiling fan. The manager came out to access the damages and got us on track to have the repairs done and as of this writing, I am very pleased with the work of this company. They always communicated of there was a change in schedule or if she needed additional time to complete the project. I would definitely use this company again and again. With home ownership comes lots of responsibilities and the need to always fix something. I will certainly be retaining this company for future home repairs. read more

I've used Ms. Honey Do for years and have been so pleased with all the work they've done for me. Recently I had water coming out from under the basement shower. I also had mold starting on both sides of the shower. Thinking I would have to tear out the shower and replace the dry wall, I called my insurance company only to find out the damage wasn't covered. I called Ms. Honey Do and they came out and could find no leak in the shower pan or anywhere else. They determined that the construction of the shower stall allowed moisture to get on the walls causing the mold. The water was due to caulking that was needed. They could have told me I needed a whole new shower and I would not have been the wiser. They gave me their honest assessment and did not try to charge me for unnecessary repairs. They did a fabulous job putting up the new dry wall, painting and installing a new vinyl floor I requested. This is always my experience with Ms. Honey Do. I would not have any other contractor work on my home. Service is always prompt and my calls are always answered immediately. I feel they are totally honest and professional.
