About year ago I remodeled a home and needed to replace all the flooring. Having lived with the floors for a while now, I feel comfortable reviewing my experience with The Floor Store. I found the staff both knowledgeable and helpful about products and budget. The house is in a forest and quite damp, I have animals, and I was on a budget. I knew I didn't want carpet, but wasn't sure what other solutions would work for my needs. The product suggested by The Floor Store has held up beautifully - no buckling, no scratches and very little maintenance on my part to keep the floors looking nice. And the best compliment of all, when it was time for a friend to replace her carpeting she went to the Floor Store and asked for the same floors as mine. This is a family-run business operating in Fort Bragg for over 15 years. The rude factor is off the charts!! Customer service?? They don't know the meaning of the word! Called the BBB concerning Monica's on going comment about how they didn't do breakdowns of the price, tho not once did I ask her for it, but then decided to call BBB & was told that what she was telling me was not legal!! Called twice a day for 3 weeks & could never get an answer. Always the machine or they would pick up the phone & then hang it up! Shop local, what a joke!! When I went in to tell them what I thought Monica stood there like a tree, once in a while said "Okay" and that was about it! You could tell that she plain didn't give a damn! Now if I had been one of the Inns on the Mendocino coast they would have fallen all over themselves to help me. I was ready to write the check & have the carpeting installed but they blew it! So sad that people want us to shop local but this is yet just another of the hundreds of reasons why we don't! read more

In addition to a wide range of quality flooring and floor care products, the store also stocks scented candles, soaps, jewelry, and other beautiful and special gift items which you would not expect. The perfect place to find the perfect gift! This is a family owned and operated business, and the thought and consideration they put into running it and taking care of their customers, both new and old, shows in everything they do. It is a lovely and welcoming shopping environment, and the staff is both knowledgeable and helpful. I bought some carpet from my bedroom from the Floor Store four years ago, and it still looks brand new. Not only did they deliver it to my home, more than 25 miles from the store, but they carried it up the stairs for me. I have had the best experiences with The Floor Store. I have a home about an hour away and the owners worked with me to send me samples and talked with me over the phone to settle on the best product for one of my homes. I had the living room, kitchen and hallway done in 2008 with a high quality laminate and it looks brand new today! The work done was high quality. They are so professional and care about their customers needs. My experience was so great the first time that when I wanted the floors in the master bedroom done I would only go with The Floor Store. Once again they sent me samples and worked with me over the phone to get me just what I exactly wanted! The service was excellent once again and the end result was perfect! Recently I asked The Floor Store about rug pads for woven rugs I had purchased online. I explained the rugs, their sizes and was advised to get a certain type of pad. Joe cut the pads to size and brought them to me and helped put them down. I explained I had a bad shoulder injury and he was terrific. The pads were too small but I did not want to even bring that up. Later, I discovered that the rugs had been advertised at one size on the website but were actually a foot longer. Joe recut patching pieces, explained how to tape them and drove them to my house and left them for me on my porch for no additional charge.
