Eric and Tyler did an amazing job! I called about 20 electricians yesterday in a last minute bind that I was in, this company was one of two who answered my calls on the first attempt and they were able to come out and assess a property for me in less than 24 hours. I will continue to use their services if I need them again. read more

NON LICENSED PEOPLE DOING ELECTRICAL WORK WITH NO SUPERVISION. (Just read what the owner Eric says about people who post negative reviews about his company. He trashes the person writing the review, it's always the customers fault if they write a negative review, and he'll claim the "customer is unreasonable." That's his default fall back for every bad review. I posted his text messages (which I still have all his text messages) which back up my claims of poor workmanship, and employees working by themselves, unsupervised with no electrical license or experience. The employee that worked on my house, and that could have burned it down, is still a student at Athens Tech trying to learn how to be an electrician. Eric sent this kid who is still in school to my house unsupervised, and he could have burnt my new house to the ground. But again, he'll say it's the customers fault, "just look at all my 5 star reviews." Buyer beware is what I would say with this owner and this company. There's so much that happened with this company that I just can't put in this review due to character limits. This company is scary at best. I wanted a licensed electrician to install a generator inlet power box next to my electrical panel, so I could run a whole house generator through my electrical panel, in the event of a power outage. The "electrician" worked on the electrical panel for a few hours, then notified me that the job was done. As soon as I inspected the work, I immediately knew something was wrong. The outlet the "electrician" installed was wrong. I told the "electrician" that he had installed the wrong outlet, and he said, "You can just use an adapter." He had in fact installed an outlet for an RV. The outlet he installed was a female outlet. The cord that runs from a generator needs a male outlet to work. There is no way this outlet would have worked with a generator, and there's no "adapter" that could make that work, it was the wrong outlet. The "electrician" called the owner (Erick Carnes) and they figured out that the "electrician" had in fact installed the wrong outlet. The "electrician" had to go find the right power box to install. A few days later I tried to test the outlet box when I received my generator cord, and the outlet box failed. There was A LOT of back and forth with Erick, but all I can post is this below. Erick insisted on looking at the problem (not him, the same "electrician" that made the mistakes). Erick did offer to refund my money, "If the issue was on them." I began to question the credentials of the employee who came to my house by himself and installed the outlet. To my shock and dismay, Erick told me that the "electrician" that came to my house was not an electrician at all. I was told the following by Erick. "Tony is allowed to work under my license as my employee. This could all be a very easy solution and may not even be a problem we did. I would like to at least check out work." I found out "Tony" was still going to Athens Tech to learn how to be an electrician and is not a licensed electrician. In fact, Tony had no certifications whatsoever to be doing electrical work on someone's house by himself. I was shocked by this answer, and equally stunned that Erick was not interested in looking at the job himself. I told Erick that I would be checking with the county and state to see if an unlicensed employee was legally able to do electrical work on customers homes by himself, with no supervision from and actual electrician. I received this answer from Erick. "We have never had an issue with an insurance claim. I would like to confirm that the issue is on us. Tyler is well qualified for the job. Tony has worked on several of these with Tyler. But that day Tyler had an appointment. This is really a simple job and I am not sure how he could have messed it up. I would like to fix it and we can refund your payment in full." Even though Erick was insisting on sending his people to look at the problem, there was no way I was letting this company touch the electrical in my house again. My house is brand new, only a year old. When I told Erick his company was not touching the electrical in my house again, he blamed the problem on me. He basically said I wasn't using the generator properly, and the issue was that I wasn't switching the breaker on the generator. I explained to Erick that this was a brand-new generator, and it did not have a breaker that needed switching prior to use. Long story here. I was right Erick was wrong. Erick still offered no refund, not even a partial refund, unless his unqualified employees worked on my panel again. The plug and panel were later checked, and it was confirmed that the outlet was wired incorrectly. I am still out 500.00 that Erick has not offered to refund. The only way Erick would entertain a refund, was if the same "electrician" that caused the problem, could come back, and try and fix the problem they created. read more

I have used Eric at "The Flash Electric" on numerous occasions for electrical needs at my home. He's installed outdoor security cameras, RING Doorbell, exterior and interior outlets, recessed lighting, added extra garage lighting, home theater curtain specialty switch, and even installed a special outlet for a high end TOTO Japanese automatic bidet toilet. Soon he will be installing exterior in-ground lighting for the American Flagpole I'm having installed in my yard. He's always professional and courteous and provides fair and upfront pricing. The quality of work is top notch. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Eric and "The Flash Electric!" read more

Eric came as a recommendation from a close friend from the work he had done for her. He was very helpful when i reached out to get his help with an outlet I needed added above a fireplace. Eric did a great job! I contacted him on a Mon and he was able to make it out on Wed. He was professional, knowledgeable and courteous. I had him move a ceiling light in my dining room about 6 ft. Due to his thorough evaluation, he was able to do with without cutting more holes than needed. I also had him replace a breaker that was improperly installed by the builder. I'll definitely be having Eric back out to help me with outdoor flood lights and run electricity to the gate! Highly recommended! read more

Eric Carnes came to our house on a Sunday and installed a GFI outlet on the outside of our home for our pool. He also installed two hanging lights for us...one in the foyer, another in the dining room. He was awesome. Very affordable and a great guy. We highly recommend him. read more

I just purchased a farm in Athens that has an older barn with 50 year old wiring. My electrical panel was buzzing. Eric came out quickly, identified the problem and provided immediate relief along with a reasonable proposal to upgrade. He was thorough, cost sensitive, and quick to respond. He completed the work on Saturday. It looks amazing! He replaced, rewired, installed switches so we wouldn't have to use the breaker box and got it done and cleaned up quickly. I have other work I'm asking for proposals for. Highly recommend!!!! read more

Never filed for the permits he was required to pull for electrical job. Refuses to provide us with receipts. Discourteous banter after the fact whilst attempting to obtain said receipts and get him to finish the job he was paid for. read more

The work was OK. Installed some lights and 220 appliance receptacles. Wrong receptacle installed for range (this did get corrected), dryer receptacle did not have correct voltage. This was due to a faulty breaker that did not get caught at original work as the attention to detail is lacking. Lights turned out OK with the exception of a failed new switch, unfortunately a used switch was installed and when I called the owner out on it he said we dont use old parts, but switch was dirty, he said it was probably in a drawer and you can just wipe it off. The owner is kinda arrogant and doesn't take care of the problem situations with the customer in mind. The wife is in town for the week and needed to use the dryer, charged emergency price to fix on the weekend even though his technician admitted he did not test properly at install. The business owner underestimated my electrical knowledge, my profession is maintenance manager in an industrial setting. So I write this review with confidence, and I certainly shouldn't have been charged a weekend rate to fix their error. read more

Excellent service. Very knowledgeable. Very reasonable. Same day service! Eric asked for details about the electrical problem so that he could plan his time. When he came he had his face mask on, which was most appreciated. Next, he had all the right tools to detect active current flow. He went over and beyond by fixing wiring done previously. Thank you, Eric. read more

Eric was friendly, timely and efficient! He hung a light fixture in my dining room as well as one in the bathroom. Highly recommend!!

Eric was not only super friendly, but he came out and installed on a weekend and did a fantastic job. He worked with me to create solutions and ultimately installed an electric outlet underneath our sink so that we could install a garbage disposal. I couldn't have asked for more! I 100% recommend Eric! read more

We were looking for electric installment because we wanted to insert a garbage disposal. Not only was he extremely friendly and accommodating, he helped us same-day, and offered us multiple times! When we had an earlier time open, he even accommodated and came out earlier to help us. Super friendly, great work. Did exactly what we asked and explained things to us. Will definitely be using this company again! read more

Highly recommend Eric and Flash Electric! He's extremely responsive, returns calls or texts almost immediately. When I first called to get him to tie my new shed into my house's power, he was out there two days later checking things out and getting me an estimate. I was pleasantly surprised to see how reasonable the quote was (esp because we just had some AC work done by another company recently and am pretty sure we got seriously gouged). We set a work date and he showed up when he said he would, got the entire project finished in a few hours. Will be using him for all my electrician needs in the coming years. Great guy, quality work, cleans up after himself, and shoots straight with you on price/timing of work/etc. Thanks Eric! read more
