In the words of Toby Keith, "I Iove this bar" In reality, The Fishhook Bar and Grill is way more than a bar. This place has good food, good music (Tuesday nights) and represents community. It's what we use to call a "local watering hole" where you could have a drink, grab a bite, see a friend and catch up on the community happenings. Food, drink, darts, and a pool table. Whoever is working the magic in the kitchen, way to go! The burgers are good! The Rueben is GREAT. Tuesday evenings some locals gather for a jam session of bluegrass country and classics. So fun. Come by, Have a bite, Grab a drink, Make a new friend, and see how we're doing it in Fishhook.

Neighborhood bar with good burgers and wings. Nice spot near Hatcher Pass. Sometimes live music on the weekends (check their FB page). Good service too.

I've driven by many a time. Tonight I thought, time to try it out. New ownership. Most of the back of the place has large boxes and pallets. A big table. The front area has nice, new circular tables and fresh new barstools at the bar. Eight beers on tap. All craft (and Stella, is Stella a craft beer). I was informed there would be a Budweiser tap as soon as the King Street ran out. A friendly bartender. He informed me that all the boxes are kitchen items. They're planning to have a kitchen open in the next couple months. Said they're planning to bring back the "Prime Rib" night of a decade ago. And then burgers, fries, maybe a taco or steak night. Notable - they had a bottle of Blanton's on the shelf. A great selection of cans and bottles as well. Wine available as well. Come visit this place. I can't wait to come back once the food is fired up.

We were sat immediately at about 5 ish on a Thursday. We looked over the menu and the hostess brought water for us right away. The waitress came over for drink and food orders. We ordered the regular ribeye and sodas. My husband ordered a salad and it came out about 10 min before the meal. The steaks with vegetables and mashed potato and gravy (I had these, my husband got the salad instead) and all items were sizzling hot and very good! The steaks were both cooked correctly (medium and medium rare) with good seasoning and flavor. The vegetables (broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower) were tasty, hot, and slightly crunchy (not mushy)! The potatoes and gravy were very good-tasted homemade! I also had these homemade root beer which was very good and the bread pudding. The bread pudding was moist, tasty, had cinnamon, and a rum icing - very, very good! All the servers were very friendly and the food came out in a timely manner. We would definitely eat here again! Glad we stumbled on this little gem!

They have a large choice of food items and they serve breakfast all day. We ordered corn fritters w honey butter to try. They were amazing! I had two and could have eaten more but my dinner hadn't come out yet. I ordered the Halibut fish & chips. I was impressed how tasty they were. Perfectly fried and seasoned well. The tartar sauce was good. The cole slaw was okay so I tried the potato salad which was better. Overall great meal! Since we had a large party, they ran out of desserts before I had a chance to order. The 17 kids in the group were able to get order desserts, the adults did not. No worries. The trip was for the kids.

But so many options makes the possibilities feel almost endless. The bacon is crispy. If you like your bacon chewy, maybe ask for it that way. I like mine crispy and it's been that way EVERY SINGLE TIME. YAY! - - THE DOWNSIDE The decaf coffee is not great. I've had it three times and I think it's instant coffee, maybe? Whatever it is, it's bad. In a state with so much great coffee, this seems like a point that shouldn't be bad. Sigh* The over medium eggs are really over easy. This is a bummer. The diner of Alaska that can make me true over medium eggs will forever earn my patronage. - - Conclusion It's okay the coffee is bad, because they had a porter on tap which was almost like drinking an iced coffee. At least that's what I'm going with. =]
