    Seafood Stew and Fish Tacod

There were so many choices at this wharf, but the line at this spot was continuously long, so we decided it would be worth waiting for, and it surely was! I ordered their seafood stew. I don't eat mussels, so they allowed me to substitute for more scallops instead. It came with a piece of focaccia bread. The flavor was amazing! Fresh seafood in a very tasty tomato based broth! I highly recommend it. My husband ordered 2 halibut fish tacos and was underwhelmed because the pieces of fish were so small.

This place was awesome. My mom and I had gotten off our cruise ship and went walking - we happened along this board walk and decided to get some food. We ordered the fried oysters and the seafood soup. Both were excelelnt! The fried oysters were huge. Everything was fresh. The soup was bursting with seafood and the meal left us both sated.

We ate chowder and halibut all over Alaska but this was by far, the best out of several cities. Super fresh and huge portions. Highly recommend!

This food hut is located on the boardwalk in the Fishermans Wharf. With so many places to choose from to eat, this is a must visit. The food was super fresh and the menu has so many fresh options. The pricess is pretty simple. Walk up to the entrance where you order at the countertop. Menus are posted on the front wall. Place your order and pay. Get a number or a pager and go find a picnic table to sit by the water. When the food is ready, walk to the kitchen window and pick up your tray of food. After you eat, there is garbage cans to dispose of your garbge. I liked that everything was paper, wooden and very compostable. This food shack also sells a variety of drinks including beer and wine bottles. To start, I tried the Seafood Stew which was so good. A tomato broth with so much seafood. The dipping bread was excellent and the fact that the stew had no fillers like potatoes, I was so happy. The fresh fish tacos were simple in ingredients but had so much flavor. Loved the fresh tortillas too.

Halibut Fish tacos were sub par. Hell, fishing chips was good, but the chips were mostly tiny pieces. Mexican place next-door had way better fish tacos

What a great find in Victoria B.C. We went to the gardens for tea in the morning and then walked along the sea board and landed at the Fish Store for lunch. We both had the Halibut two piece plate with frIes and coleslaw. The service was terrific and the ambiance so relaxing right on the water. The fish was fresh, tender and perfectly cooked. Highly recommended.

My first time trying oysters! As a non-seafood eater, I actually quite enjoyed these. Got them on the 25% happy hour special, seems like a good deal and quite quality, so nice to sit on the picnic benches on the docks eating these on a nice day

During our visit to Victoria, British Columbia, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal at The Fish Store. I chose the fish and chips, and my son selected the fish taco with French fries. The French fries were truly outstanding. The fish was incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection. My only suggestion would be to consider adding some seasoning directly to the fish, even though the batter was seasoned. A few pieces of the fish did separate from the batter, and those were a bit plain. I would certainly be delighted to dine at this restaurant again on a future visit. The coleslaw was very flavorful. While I am not typically a fan of coleslaw, I did sample it since it was part of my meal. I can also share that my son mentioned his fish taco was absolutely amazing.

We ordered some fish tacos and salmon chowder with some wine and beer. Tacos were so delicious. Chowder was way too fishy and watery. I don't care for it. Service was good and the woman was very nice.

Came here on the recommendation of our Victoria Harbour Tour ferry driver.. he informed us that this place was the locals favorite for fish n chips .. also informed us that their salmon chowder was life changing.. so ofc we had to order these items.. tried the west coast combo fish n chips including 1pc salmon and 1pc cod, the salmon chowder and local fish stew. Loved the cod! the tartar sauce was the best I've ever had. Coleslaw was terrible. The salmon was wild sockeye - normally a fave but not a good fish for fish n chips - too lean/dry. Salmon chowder wasn't enjoyable either. Fish stew was better but still not my cup of tea with the tomato base - the tomato overpowers the seafood flavors. Would like to return and try out their halibut fish n chips and/or sandwich.

the service was good!! our food came out 10-15 mins after ordering. they give you a buzzer to let you know when your food is ready. the food was good!! the seafood was fresh. my personal favorite was the sockeye salmon rice wrap. the teriyaki sauce paired well with the salmon in the wrap. my friends love the three way clam chowder!! the only con was that the fish and chips were underwhelming with the bland flavor. also while we ate, the floor kept rocking a little bc their establishment was on the water. the movement kinda made us woozy. something to note if you want to dine at the location. there was also other tables around on steadier ground.

A higher quality seafood offering with more complex dishes than the other fish and chip's establishments at Fisherman's Wharf. A popular tourist destination, this is a great place to get your seafood fix. It's easy to get distracted or drown in the options and choices. They have fresh options and a wide range of dishes for a more developed palette. Service was friendly and helpful, and food came fast and hot. They have some unique seating options right on the dock. Note that they do have some restrictions on Alcohol sales depending on where you sit. I highly recommend the salmon three ways chowder. It has a rich and Smokey flavor and does not short on the salmon. It's a great alternative for anyone who doesn't like clams and is a treasure for the salmon lovers I. Your life. All and all a great spot for a snack or a seafood indulgence.

    Halibut tacos are amazing!

FOOD Tomahawk Steak ($196) You need to wait 45 minutes but if you and 2-3 friends can wait, it's tender and worth it! Side: Brussels Sprouts ($13) Interesting how they serve just the leaves here (no stems). I found the cheese topping a little too much but some others at our table enjoyed them. Side: Sautéed Mushrooms ($14) They were good, but the portion size was underwhelming as everyone at the table noticed. Calamari ($22) A good appetizer to share; this was something we would all do again/ Lobster Seafood Feast ($194) Clams, mussels, salmon, shrimp, scallops, crab cakes, and of course, a lobster to booth - it's likely best shared between 4 people, but it's pretty good (see picture)! It came with potatoes and vegetables which were cooked well. Caesar Salad ($18) Shareable between 2 people, this was tasty. Kid's Meal - Grilled Cheese Sandwich ($14.50) It may be a little disappointing considering the price (drink is still optional) but they did use thick-slice Texas Toast and the fries were from fresh potatoes. Missouri Buttercake ($15.50) The good folks of Missouri are lucky to enjoy this tasty treat! === 3. SERVICE We had a lady from Ireland serve us and she was fantastic and patient with our large group and my little one! === 4. ENVIRONMENT It's a little on the dark side like all steakhouses and a little cramped in that I would not bring our baby stroller in here unless we really had to. Wheelchair's may or may not ingress not fit easily. Beyond that, the envvironment what clean and not unlike many darker-toned steakhouses around the continent. Parking is the big challenge - during tourist season in Victoria, you may be hard-pressed to find a street spot or decently priced parking garage in downtown Victoria!

Right at the door, they told us we'd be "needing to wait." We waited over 30 minutes before finally being seated. Once seated, another 20 minutes passed with no water and no acknowledgment from staff. It felt like we'd been placed in the restaurant's awkward introvert corner. Finally, a disrespectful waitress acknowledged us, took our drink orders, and then we waited another 20-30 minutes just for a simple glass of milk for our 10-year-old. By then, the kid was already eyeing the exit. Our waitress approached with the warmth and enthusiasm of a DMV employee on a Monday morning. Her attitude was dismissive and condescending from the start--acting like our presence was an imposition on her perfect day. We ordered: my partner chose the Wild Mushroom Agnolotti, I went for the Aura 6 oz Beef Striploin and a Margherita, and our child ordered a cheeseburger. Thirty minutes later, with our hungry and restless child losing patience, I politely asked for an update. The waitress responded with a condescending tone, "This isn't a fast food joint." I immediately asked to speak to the manager, who, to their credit, handled it professionally and did their best to de-escalate. The food finally arrived--and surprisingly, it was really good. The steak was solid, the agnolotti hit the mark, the burger kept the kid happy, and the Margherita was decent. After that, we had minimal interaction with our server, which honestly was a relief. The food was the bright spot amid an otherwise miserable experience. The slow, disorganized service, her snarky attitude, and the feeling that we were treated like second-class citizens the moment we arrived with a child left a terrible taste that no steak could remove. The high prices only made the disappointment sting more. I will never recommend Aura Waterfront to anyone visiting Victoria, BC. If you're traveling with kids, especially, steer clear--you'll be treated as an inconvenience rather than a valued guest. Save your money and sanity for somewhere that actually appreciates your business.
