I don't mind this place, it's ok and I've had 'on par' burgers/fish here previously but today annoyed the crap out of me, enough for a review.
Walking past and felt like something small, didn't want to be wasteful and over order. Asked for the little bait box and the guy says "that's a kids meal. you look a bit old for it". I laugh and say "ahh good one mate" continuing to order it because I've ordered it before, while thinking lucky I have a sense of humour.
But he was serious.
Should I explain that I have kids at home, am I required to show some proof now? I don't have kids.
Who really cares who is eating it, it's on your bloody menu and it could have been for my kid at home, why question it!? I'm not trying to scam you for this lavish meal. It's a quick sale when the place has literally 2 ppl in it, I'm really not wasting your time buddy and there are 30 other takeaway places within a 50m radius - that I will now visit next time.
I just want a small meal without paying $15 for a large portion and end up throwing half of it out.
The guy agreed quickly to it anyway, because I looked at him like "haha good one mate, thanks for calling me a kid smart arse".
It's literally 15-20 chips and 4x tiny fish bites 3-5cm square for $6.50. Big deal!
To add chicken salt to the wound I've ordered this before and was asked which sauce I would like, so I asked "can I have the tartare sauce please?" And he wanted me to pay an extra $1 for it. I must be the biggest tight arse in the world for just wanting a small meal.
it's the principle, let people order what they want and let them feel good about it, or don't receive their money next time. read more
