Such a cute restaurant! I am not from this area, but the locals say that it has been through a lot of renovation. I am giving four stars due to the food. We walked in, we had a reservation for a table of six, there was another couple that was already sitting down and they had not received any menus or any drinks. The restaurant did not seem as busy as the waitress acted, but you never know what goes behind the scenes. I got the bananas Foster's French toast which was the most delicious French toast I had ever had in my life! The cheese grits were yummy and just needed a little salt and pepper. I could not decide between the pancakes and the French toast, so I asked the waitress and she did not know. She said I don't like syrup, so I don't know. There was a dish that had "Pollo" in the name of it and yet the description did not have chicken in it. So, we asked her about that as well and she did not know. I asked if the bartender could make me a mock tail and she asked what that was, so I told her what I would like and she said she never heard of it before, okay so water it is for me then. My husband got the burrito and asked to substitute the sausage for chicken and she was not sure if that could be done although they did do it. I cannot describe how bad the service was. The bottomless mimosas and sangria's were bottomless way before she even came back around to check. My husband asked to put in another round as soon as she dropped it off, but it seemed that she had an issue with it but no issue with not checking in more frequently on those. It would seem a pitcher would be a better idea, in her case. I would definitely come back to this restaurant for the food, but the service was absolutely one star. It was really sad because it really did not look as busy. She apologized when she gave us the check, and she actually gave a child one of the checks. She also put the wrong food items on a couple of our checks. I don't know what happened to her that day, but she was very unhelpful, uneducated on the menu and very slow with service. The Cuban sandwich was mostly a good offering. There was way too much mustard. I removed that piece of the bread, folded the remaining sandwich and it was good. The beans and rice were bleh. Our own Tastymanfl gave it a rave review for regular dining a couple of years ago. We had a reservation for Father's Day brunch. We asked to be seated on the patio and the hostess mentioned they could turn on the fans and had us turn around to turn them on. The waitress was prompt at first but we had to flag someone down for our refills on bottomless sangria, and soda. The food sounded and looked really good and was excited to order the country steak Benedict, only to be confused when she asked how I wanted the eggs. I said it's a Benedict the eggs should be poached? And the waitress said they can't do that. So I ordered over easy, and when the food came out there was hair in the sauce. Just an all around great restaurant with fantastic food and excellent service. This place is a hidden gem located in downtown Winter Haven. While in Lakeland, a family member took me here for brunch and it was worth the 35 min drive. We had the shrimp and grits and the fried shrimp. This was the best shrimp and grits I have had and I've had a lot of versions of this classic dish and it's either a hit or miss and this place is a home run. The sauce is cream based with tomatoes and garlic, chopped bacon and of course tender shrimp and delicious grits. The fried shrimp were also great. The tarter sauce and fries were kick ass! Not sure what happened with others, but we strolled in 30min before closing and were still greeted with hospitality and a smile. We ordered the buttermilk fire shrimp, Alfredo penne with chicken and shrimp, burger and fries (for the kids), and of course their steak! Everything was spot on delicious!! Great lunch spot in downtown winter park! I came here for a work lunch and it was a great big dining room. They have many options to choose from but I opted for the bowls. I got the blackened chicken bowl which reminded me of a deconstructed burrito. It was very flavorful and filling. They have outdoor seating as well with fans over head and a bar area. PSA: ESTABLISHMENT NAMED APPROPRIATELY! Since I started visiting the Winter Haven area about a month ago, I think I have been to Fire five times and would go back 100 more. I will keep it simple because the food speaks for itself. There are several different dining options including a front patio, back patio, indoor bar and indoor table seating. Aside from the absolutely dank eats, the restaurant is clean, the music is good and the people are very nice and welcoming. I've never been but I hear that Wednesday jazz night is a great time. The best dish for brunch, in my opinion, is hands down the packed bowl. If you're a meat lover, literally look no further. It is the perfect mix of healthy and greasy. The shrimp and grits were definitely something to write home about, the breakfast cuban was unreal, and the fries are perfect. I've tried both the banana french toast and the blueberry pancakes which were both phenomenal. The coffee is fresh and the mimosas (bottomless if you like) are fresher I have to admit that I definitely underestimated the food in this small town. Fire was the first to prove me wrong! read more

We were traveling back home last evening from Orlando to Naples, FL and exited the interstate to grab a quick dinner. What a pleasant surprise to find this quaint little steakhouse open on Saturday night. We were served by a bubbly and friendly server named Mina who was very helpful recommending the house specialties. She was very attentive to her tables and was always near if anything was needed or requested. I had the NY Strip that was seasoned with a dry rub that was out of this world, along with their perfectly prepared asparagus and seasoned steak fries. It was one of the best steaks I've ever eaten and we have many fine steakhouse in the Naples area to choose from. My wife had the flat iron steak that also prepared perfectly and was extremely tender and seasoned perfectly. The decor is rustic and inviting with a cool vibe. At 8:45pm it was very busy when we walked in and everyone seems to enjoy their meals. Highly recommend this place and Mina even suggested their sister lounge called "The Social" which we plan to visit next time through Winter Haven and their really cool downtown area! read more

The food was good. The steak served with steak and eggs was a solid piece of steak but the eggs were not quite scrambled enough and a little runny. The salmon Benedict was good but the ham on it was like lunch meat and not a real slice of ham....it was good though and the hollandaise sauce was tasty. The service was just mediocre. We made a reservation and the poor boy working the host stand was just confused. The waitress said we would get muffins...never got it. There were three adults and one child in our party. One adult meal didn't come out when the other meals did. Not a long wait for it but still...she waited. Her bacon was burnt and she was half way finished with her meal before waitress came back to check on things...she was told of the bacon and she took it back. She returned and asked if the bacon should be made again or did my friend just not want it....odd. I was invited here by a family friend and we were a big group. I was SO SCARED to go in here because I couldn't find any vegan options on their menu online. I literally stopped at a Burger King to get an impossible whopper and worst case scenario I could order fries or chips at this place. Well, I was SO suprise to see they have a CLEARLY listen vegan option in bold. Not a non-vegan option they can do substitutions on, not a salad, not some rinky dink plain pasta and red sauce. This was a VERY NICE dish. Enjoyable even for non vegans. It's full of flavor, filling, and makes you feel good about eating it. There was so much left over I had lunch for the next day and it was still delicious. Service was also great!! Ambiance was pleasant, very classy and clean. My only caveat was the "lack" of vegan options. They do have a vegetarian option, and I can see that is not their specialty- it is a steakhouse after all. They have cow decor all over, but in 2021, lots of people (like myself) are attempting to reduce their meat consumption. Be it ethical, environmental, or health, it's something we can't ignore. Having only 1 vegan / 1 vegetarian option is just old fashioned now. If they had none, my review would've probably been a 1-2. So I'm glad they did. That being said, there are so many cheeses and charcuterie boards, deserts, and nothing for allergies. I couldn't enjoy any of the appetizers my table ordered. I couldn't enjoy any of the deserts. And there is nothing more sad that watching others enjoy and share meals and have to apologize because there is nothing for you!! read more

Brunch on Sunday?! Sure. Tried to go to Nutwood, but they were closed, so we ended up at Fire. So glad it didn't work at Nut! We were greeted by a sweet hostess, who told us to flag her through the window if we needed anything. Our waiter, Corey was just the best. Turns out, all 4 of us moved from Michigan! He was absolutely fabulous too. They give you little bags for your masks and even give you sanitizer for your table. Updating my review after 7 years. Was fortunate to eat here twice in 3 days, a lunch and a Sunday brunch. Both were "fine dining experiences" with delicious food. Knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating servers. Quickly served, hot. Prices have shot up in 7 years. My steak salad in 2015 was $10.50, this time was $18. It was delicious and the cranberry vinaigrette was enjoyable. Friends enjoyed their reuben and mushroom/Swiss burger with perfect fries. The 2 TBSP serving of cole slaw was warm and bland, the only "yuk" on the plate. The Sunday brunch was mostly breakfast items except for a half pound burger with egg ($15). It was tasty but very salty. We enjoyed warm donut holes as a complimentary appetizer. This restaurant bills itself as a steakhouse-and they certainly cooked both times to request. We were glad for no loud music either day for a pleasant conversation experience. (Bigger kitchen din at brunch.) Great wall art. Classy ambiance. CONS. The host was too young to have experience to use good sense-seating disabled folks the furthest walk in the building, not acknowledging first to enter as first to seat (distracted into taking vocal others). Stopped in for a few drinks and ended up ordering a few bites to eat. The oysters, both kinds that I tried, were delicious! It took the bartender/ server awhile to bring out my 2nd and 3rd orders of oysters, as well as my drinks... but I figured that was because she seemed to be running both the bar/restaurant AND the kitchen. Had reservations for 7 pm. We were seated on the back patio. One other party was seated there. Waited nearly 30 minutes and no server approached us. Finally a server came out with bread and brought it to the other table saying this is to hold you over because your food is taking so long. She never even looked at us, just turned and went back inside. At 8:15 we walked out, went to the Thai place next door and had a nice dinner. This was my first time here and my Mom's second. It is on the pricier side but they live up to it. The space is well decorated and has a nice ambience to it. Upon walking in for dinner, the space was completely empty which was initially alarming. My assumption is that many may not know about this place yet. I ordered the burger and my Mom got the steak salad. Both were so tasty. The burger was an incredibly large portion that I only managed to consume half off.
