A "traditional" American diner Lisbon. This diner is themed by rockabilly and the 50's culture in the USA (who would have guessed). Having a wide variety of sandwiches DECILIOUS burgers and a relatively low price, not cheap nor expensive, amazing milkshakes and good ambience. The food is very good, and the price quality ratio is fair. All waiters are dressed accordingly, the men with mechanics suits -a grease reference?- and the ladies with a typical female waiter one like we've seen so many times in the big and small screen. Finally the decor is great, although they have way to many statuettes ( Elvis and Marlyns among others) wich downgrades the overall decor to a bit tacky

I admit the place is cute and has all the american clichés. it's nicely done in that regard. but other than that, I didn't actually like the food very much. The nachos were very poorly done (the other american food place in Av. da Liberdade in downtown Lisbon has AWESOME nachos, these guys should learn from them), the burgers were too greasy and just weren't that good in my opinion. Dessert was cheesecake which I shared with my friend (I shared the nachos too, I guess we were really hungry that day), and it just looks fake and tasted kinda meh. The waiters were ok, not extremely nice, and they brought the burgers while we were still eating nachos, so that wasn't very smart of them (it didn't all fit the table, even). Considering the amount of food we ate, I don't think we paid that much but I still don't consider it was money well spent, there are better places if I want to leave that kind of money and have that kind of "american" experience.

Food was correct but as good burgers can be bought around each corner Fifties should try to do better than avarage. The interior is interesting, staff nice.

This was a place I was really excited about. My husband and I walked down to another restaurant to…read moreeat and passed by and saw the big chalk sign out front that said "Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten Free!"... I have Celiac disease and so navigating food when traveling is always an experience for me and I immediately tagged this place as one we would return to. Sadly, when we went and I said I needed to be gluten-free and asked if they had a separate menu when I only saw three items the server said "We really don't have a lot." ...then why is it advertised in huge letters on the sign outside? Felt strange. The service was exceptional of course - none of this at all is a condemnation of the employees - they were all great and attentive and helpful... I just think the advertising of the menu and branding needs... some rework? The check arrived with major sticker shock for fries, wings, and sangria (that was way way too sweet). We spend a good amount of our disposable income on dining out, with intent, and the value ratio for this one was... off. Environment? Very chill neighborhood "burger bar" type place. There are some couches and lots of art on the walls for purchase and pretty extensive beer list - larger than I had seen at any other restaurant in Alfama and beyond.

Ended up squeezing in at a table by the door, not ideal as we were already cold and wet, but didn't want to have to go back out in the rain to find someplace else. Service was quick and friendly and we ordered a couple of local draft beers and the Piri Piri wings and a prawn sandwich. Prawn sandwich was ok, not a lot of flavor but came with some sweet potato chips and a nice arugula salad. Wings were fantastic, fell off the bone, grilled perfectly with just a bit of heat. Came with a sweet chili sauce for dipping. Beers were decent. Probably would have given it 5 stars but it was so loud and cold that we had a hard time enjoying the atmosphere and good food.
