Mexican Burger Look at that Guac

Beyond Incredible. The Food, Drinks, and Owner are all NEXT LEVEL! I have eaten a lot of burgers from everywhere around the world and this Easily a TOP 5 EVER spot!! So different than any burger spot I had ever been. Burgers are bun less and cooked to perfection. They give you two good sides with your meal, the sauces are all homemade and you can tell. WoW I will have dreams about the sauces for days. And the drinks are big and so good. This place does not cut corners anywhere. Top notch quality and reasonable prices. I went with a friend and we were both blown away. I definitely will be back when in the area and highly recommend this place to everyone. You will thank me after and the owner is so friendly and awesome. She is from Rio thus the name of the name of the place

I really was excited because of all the good ratings here. First of all, the chef of the restaurant was really nice and friendly. We ordered 2 of the burgers and they were delivered quite fast. A burger without a bun was also something "new" to us. But the burger was only average, nothing really special. The fries also didn´t taste very well but they were okay. If you like meat, you can go there, because you really get a lot of it. But if you are looking for really good burgers, better you go somewhere else.

Top 5 best burger places I've been in the world! The homemade ketchup was ridiculously GOOD! The meat taste fresh, fries were hot. Everything about this place is incredible. You have to go!

The best burger I had. The gorgonzola burger is to die for. service is great. Not too expensive nor is it too cheap. Close to praça de comercio. Excellent location for a nice dinner

Oh my... It was SO GOOD. The best burger I've ever had. Actually my boyfriend had the Casanova burger and I had the vegeterian option with tofu. The weird part is that you don't get a bun, but you also do not miss it at all. The service was so nice, the ambient is comfortable. We just do not get it why there isn't a line in front of this place. We're already planning our return to Cafe do Rio and we highly recommend it! A+ is our grade, keep up the good work!

So good. The sangrias are so good and the fried egg on burger is a must. A hole in the wall that was worth the visit.

While we were sitting, a male server hovered near us the entire time, cleaning the same small area of the table over and over, clearly eavesdropping. Staff is rude, unwelcoming, and invasive -- avoid this place. Plenty of much nicer places and more reasonably priced places to have a beer. Tourists beware -- rude staff, judgmental service, and overpriced drinks. Definitely not worth your time or money.

Quality is yeoman, not fancy and not blow your socks off "...this is so great I can't believe it". But satisfying and value priced. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Live music (Fado on Thursday, Friday, Saturday) performed most evenings in the upstairs dining room. Seats only 40 people so reservations are mandatory. Don't walk in and expect to be seated upstairs. The ambience is casual. The experience feels very family home made and satisfying. There are 6 other restaurants within 100 meters of this place. This one is my favorite because is feels the least touristy.

I was intrigued by the presence of a vegan restaurant in Lisbon, but it seems like vegan and vegetarian restaurants are plentiful here. The menu is just as tiny as the restaurant. There are 2 main dishes and a few desserts and starters. I ordered the daily dish, which was called Brunch. It included vegan cheese on toast, vegan sausages, a slice of sun-dried tomato, roasted beets on top of potatoes, and oats with strawberries and bananas. Elements of the dish were both a hit and a miss. As a non-vegan, the individual components were very good attempts at replicating the real thing. First, the cheese had the right texture. It had a very light and subtle flavor that I enjoyed. The vegan sausages were too dry on the inside. The beets and potatoes were particularly good, but I'm a bit biased as I enjoy beets in general. The oats in soy milk was tasty. There was a subtle sweetness to it. Overall, the food was good and a good value for €13.

We got the vegetable curry twice, as well as a quinoa salad, a tofu scramble, a carob cake, and some juice. Out of all of these, the quinoa salad was my favorite. But even the warm curry was delicious on a hot day! The carob cake was a bit dry and crumbly tasting, though -- I think I can bake a better one myself. There was quite a rush for the cheesecake, so I wonder if that would have been better? Sadly they were sold out once we wanted dessert. Service was a bit slow and they don't open before noon, but that's fine when you are on vacation :) As others have mentioned, the space is small, so going here with a large group is probably not advisable. I liked that their food menu was hand-written. It sounds like they just make up the menu as they go, and include whatever dishes they can make with the produce they have available that day. Overall, I very much enjoyed eating here -- it was nice to just get some good old vegetables among all the meat offerings of Portugal!

We had a perfect breakfast for our last day in Lisbon. Service was impeccable, and the food was excellent. We started with Cappuccino, juice of the day and a Bloody Mary to celebrate. Truly was the perfect end to our stay in Lisbon. Obrigada!

Worth Going Out Of Your Way…read more.... On our annual vacation, my wife and I were fortunate enough to get a reservation for 3 nights at the Santiago de Alfama hotel. Audrey's is their primary restaurant and we sampled 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch and 1 dinner. Here are the pros and cons. Pros: - In keeping with the hotel, everything is beautiful in a subtle manner. Call it "down-to-earth elegance". - Breakfast: The a la carte menu offered some of the best breakfast foods we've ever had. Examples: Fresh granola and berries with Greek yogurt. THE BEST EVER! Home baked breads and pastries. Orange juice that's pure and not too sweet. Bagel and lox to please the purists. Service was provided by a trio of very friendly, attentive and helpful young women. - Lunch: We ate on the patio in front of the hotel. I had a super tasty vegetarian Thai dish while my wife had a big salad. They were accompanied by the best Sangria in ages. Sweet, but not too much. - Dinner: The dining room is very attractive yet understated like the hotel. Comfortably modern European. Food was impeccable. Tomato salad was large and amazing. My wife's dish focusing on baked cod was large and filling. My polenta with mushroom ragu was immense and full of flavor. Breads are baked daily and almost as good as dessert. Speaking of dessert, mine was a fantastic chocolate mousse while my wife had fresh berries with a massive amount of the best homemade whipped cream. Wine was a local Chardonnay - an excellent choice - for a reasonable $30. - Prices for such a Michelin star experience are considerably lower than you'd expect in the US. Con: - While the food at dinner was fantastic, service was perfunctory. Our server, a pleasant young woman, covered the basics...but nothing more. During our 90 minute meal, she NEVER asked "how are you doing?" Can I get you anything?" We ordered a bottle of wine, but NOT ONCE did she offer to refill our glasses. She didn't speak an unrequired word. The man seemingly managing the room barely acknowledged us. The guy clearing dishes was the ONLY ONE to ask if we wanted coffee or tea. The restaurant was nearly empty. Did we not spend enough? Did we do something wrong? What a way to put a damper on a glorious meal. However, as well-behaved Americans, we left a 15% tip. The next day, we spoke with Martim Neves Carneiro from Guest Relations who was very receptive to our information. He said "they are part of a new nighttime crew and will need remedial help". How very true. Despite those hesitations, Audrey's certainly deserves 5 stars.
