I apologize for the looooong delay in submitting this review. I've been shopping here since we moved up here in 2016. I just adore this store. The owners/managers/sales people are just marvelous. Even when it gets crazy busy, they are kind, extremely helpful, well organized, and brilliant. I mostly shop for wild bird seed. The prices are very good and the selection is ideal. And my doggies just love all the fabulous goodies. The darling people that carry that heavy stuff out to my car could not be more patient and generous. Oh, and don't get me started on the darling gift shop. The buyer has amazing taste: a great mix of kitsch and must-have gorgeous items. I go in there just to lift my spirits when things get hard. This is my favorite Feed Store in Sonoma County! they do their best to get feed to their customers in a timely matter and the staff is helpful and knowledgeable. I have always been able to find what I need here. Not to mention they have a great little gift shop with beautiful houseware and unique gifts. Let's start with the service, i got excellent service when it came to being judged as a suspect, however when it came to actually getting some help a third party vendor was above and beyond when compared to who the feed store decides to have represent them. honestly it was my first and last time going to such a place. I stopped by today for the first time. I'm not familiar with feed. But the home and garden section is wonderful! I could see myself getting in trouble there. That's the good . The bad is when I brought my purchases up to the cash register . I was excited about my great finds and tried to convey this to the gal manning the register. She couldn't care less! In our small town there are some businesses that offer a 10% - 20% loyalty discount to their customers once a month on an entire order with no annual membership fee. For Example, Ace Hardware offers a 20% discount on the first Saturday of each month and on the first Wednesday of each month they offer the same discount to seniors. Unfortunately at The Feed Store you have to buy an annual membership for $10 and then on the first Friday of each month you can receive a 10% discount on your order but not without having a membership. I had been shopping at The Feed Store for a couple years and everything was good. On February 7th, (first Friday) I bought 2 bags of dog food for around $140 without a discount. I was told my annual membership card had expired and if I wanted the first Friday 10% discount I had to renew my membership for $10. I chose not to renew it. There's more... The Feed Store has a 2 week return policy. I took my dog to the vet and was told I needed to put him on prescription "Hills TD Dental Care" food to treat a condition he was diagnosed with. I had been buying my dog (at The Feed Store) the Hills regular Dental Care food not knowing I was buying the wrong one. On February 27th, I tried to return the unopened food I purchased on Feb 7th. I did not have my receipt but it was in their computer under my name that I purchased this food. So, I was like 6 days past the return policy at The Feed Store. They told me NO way could I return the dog food without paying a 10% restocking fee. After I spoke to the owner she said I could return it for a store credit or take the hit to pay 10%. By this time I had had enough of their rigid attitude and lack of professionalism to understand I was at this point a loyal customer. They were unable to order me the prescription dog food which I found strange. A store credit was pointless for me since they couldn't sell me the food I now needed. My bottom line is, I'll NEVER step foot inside this store again. I prefer to give my business to companies who can recognize special situations do matter. I can't tell you how many times I've had gift cards, and store credits that have gone unused or lost. read more

This is one of my favorite places. We stop by here every now and then for supplies and so my stuff can visit the staff. She's been coming here since she was a puppy and loves the attention. I go here for so many things and am always greeted wonderfully and everything carried to my car. I get dog food, bails of hay and Barley. Golden fire pellets for our pellet stove. Do the Math and avoid the Ace parking lot! Get discounts from manufacturers like Stella and Chewy! I can't get these prices online!!! And I don't have to waste cardboard or get boxes with space tAken up by plastic with air blown in for safe shipping. I am supporting local families. I checking out the local bulletin board and maybe adopting a ewe or trying a trainer. I am asking questions about feed from someone who knows their product. And special order. When I moved from Santa Rosa to Sebastopol I was super bummed to leave Western Farm center behind, but all my sadness disappeared when I started shopping at The Feed Store. The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable, and there's never a shortage of them around when you need something. They know my dog very well and love her almost as much as I do. They remember that she has a chicken allergy and always go out of their way to find treats to give her that she can eat. She is a rescue and tends to bark loudly at people for no apparent reason so I feel awkward taking her to some places, but never here! She gets so excited when I tell her that we're going to "the pet store" and I am extremely grateful to have a place I can comfortably take her to socialize with strangers. Of course, Larsons or Western feed are the more 'real thing' for those of us with herd animls but the options here for general pet owners are greater. Just got back from The Feed Store and had a less than ideal interaction. I called this morning and spoke with the woman answering the phone about buying some pallets. She gave me the price and then called back and said that there were plenty and to come on down. I came down and found that there was some guy loading up all the pallets and spoke with a kid on the forklift loading them all and was told someone else was taking them all. It turns out it is some pallet company that has priority, which I wasn't told about. Basically I wasted a lot of time to end up with some shitty pallets. The guy from the pallet company refused to give just a few good ones back. The owner somewhat helped out but I walked away with a really bad taste in my mouth. I just hate it when local small businesses make shitty decisions and try to blame their employees. We have a large poultry flock and _used_to_ buy our feed here. Great hay sold here. I personally buy alfalfa and orchard grass. Hay is always fresh, smelly great and the alfalfa hay is very leafy - not all stems. Hay is not sun bleached or super dried out. I will only be coming here for hay from now on. They consistently have great quality feed. Employees are friendly and helpful. Only complaint is their employees that load your truck do NOT know how to stack hay effectively. Had 6 bales in my pickup and 3 of them were over the bed rails. This is easily avoidable lol. read more

A bit over a year we started a mini farm. 4 Alpacas, 2 goats and 10 chicken. We bought our supplies exclusively at this Feed Store. Couple of weeks ago I needed halter for my 4 Alpacas. The young and friendly sales lady showed me some halters, informed me very well and showed me how to put it on the head of my Alpacas. so I bought 4 halters for a bit over $100.00. When I got home I realized on the label that she sold me dog body harnesses, which totally did not work on the head of my Alpacas. Next day I went back to the Feed Store to get some Hay and to return the harnesses. The young lady was not there and another one told me that they will not take returns. Even when I told her that it was not my mistake and that I was misinformed by another staff member she refused to take it back and not even offered some deal on my hay purchase. So I left. It's a new policy probably about the virus, which I actually don't care because even Homedepot takes return and just leaves the items sitting there for 3 days before they put it back in the shelves. I was pretty disappointed that I lost $100 because a not knowledgeable sales person sold me the wrong stuff. This wasn't the first time I had to deal with their attitude, when I got 2 different qualities of Alfalfa hay. I knew from the past that one of the bales was a bad quality with a lot of dirt in it and when I asked the guy on the load ramp he refused to exchange it and told me very harsh that this is the same hay, when it was not. Anyway after this 2 episodes I decided to get my farm and feed supplies somewhere else. I am glad that there are other feed stores in Cotati and Santa Rosa, which are also more reasonable. read more

I used to come to Frizelle Enos as a kid. Get weighed on the scale .We'd get all our food and our supplies for our animals. My sister and I were in 4H. There was always someone to help with a smile and it was like family there. The several times I have gone to The Feed Store since the fire, have been less than ok. This is the same location of Frizelle-Enos feed store that burned down. Great location, ample parking, employees approached my wife and I, asking us if we needed any assistance. The layout is simple to and easy to find what you need, lighting was great. I also was offered the 5% discount offer for joining the loyalty club for $10. I've tried several times to like this place. But again after this morning I think I will continue to do my shopping at one of the other local feed stores. The two younger women behind the counter were helpful. I was the only one in the store at the time everyone had their masks on. No problem. I believe it was the male owner who walked past me two or three times without even acknowledging my existence or asking if I needed help finding something. No big deal right? Busy man business owner. Middle of a pandemic. I was the only one in the store. You would think they would want to help you make lots of purchases and help you find lots of things. LOL and this is not the first time I've been treated rudely or like my money is no good his wife did the same thing. Not only that she was a real bit$&8' on the phone when I didn't get my delivery and she says well that's just the way it is and she had to put four more days out.
