It was cute, now, PLEASE STOP harassing me!
I can provide proof, go read the "hidden" reviews...
After posting this review, I've gotten messages from past and present staff of the Fed, expressing concerns and stories, which validates the several employees I spoke with during my time there. These individuals held varied positions and shared same concerns, such as being too fearful to speak out. Most of them were male and worried about how it looks to speak up against a wealthy, white, female owner. But the best kicker is: I've also since, been virtually stalked, thrown personal information in my face in messages, threatened, in an effort to have this post taken down. I called it, a bully is a bully. This place has some secrets. Bad food and staff abuse is no longer among them. Not in my town, I KNOW Clarkston won't stand for it. Do your research.
For anyone who finds this disproportionately offensive and/or an attack - I have no idea who this woman is, never spoke to her or anyone in her family. But a persona and the love and energy, or lack thereof, is in the food you consume and the history of how things come to be. Next time you're in the restaurant yourselves, go and find out directly from the staff how they are treated - so to Sarah - karma catches up. I'm not supporting abusive working conditions. I was genuinely appalled. And the food really IS that bad. Not everything that glitters, is gold.
Bad food happens, not worth my time to complain about, but this is so much more demented than that...employee abuse by owners? Consumers - you have the right to know what you are supporting by buying anything at the Fed.
Atmosphere: 5 stars. Service - pretty much excellent though mildly understaffed. Food? -10 stars.
The "sushi" selections were not great, any pieces I did get, sucked. And this is on a a Friday night at dinnner mind you, should be peak, right? Again, refer to photo.
The kids burger, how can you fuck that up you ask me?Overdone, cardboardy.
I will say this --- the french fries, pretty good, and 1 out of 3 sauces offered, also good, one of the only highlights, the one special sauce. But I ordered so much to try out, out of excitement, I hoped obviously that sauces would be included in our take take away box, they weren't. Bill came up to 74$, I left 100 on the table. I didn't know there were no sauces included until I got home, which was the ONLY way my 6 year old would eat anything, was with a sauce, no offense to the waiter, Tim, he was great, but I have a feeling the no sauce to take home thing was the owners fault- really anal, Sarah, yeah, she's that one that's eye hawking everything while her husband is likely getting not such uptight ass on the side, she's cute butfuckmewithrazorbladesifshewasevermyboss - this whole place speaks to me on a psychological level - the shallow pretentiousness is there - much like wearing a restaurant branded logo to your kids school, always dressing your child in designer clothes in a public school, as well as lingering aimlessly outside of your kids school smiling at everyone, hoping you will someday force your hubby to see your value outside of your stay at home trophy wife regime you've grown to resent - even though he doesn't care - but you're in the middle of a serious crisis meltdown. And believe me, I've never even met your man, he sounds like a bigger douche than you are (seriously, how can you treat your own staff that way?)
If the above sounds shallow, it's not, it's very indicative of the psychology of ownership and translates spectacularly to the Fed itself, looks great, but dig deeper and you find the food is terrible and the staff are treated horrendously, it's all for looks folks. This isn't your hole in the wall place a highly talented chef can barely afford to run and busts their butts to provide you with the most spectacular food, for cheap, because they love what they do - this is an overpriced multi million dollar production where staff and quality of food is totally skimped on in favor of appearances. You're paying for the atmosphere but you're being taken advantage of on the quality.
I'm a long term clarkston resident- I refuse to support emotionally and physically abusive working conditions of the hardworking staff at the Fed. To anyone who works there and is reading this, don't be afraid to speak up.
"bib bim bap"? Waste of my life completely - I'm going back to Honcho for my awesome rice bowl...
Dessert selection sucks, out of Baked Alaska when space was 30% full at 7pm on a Friday night.
Mushroom bisque (vitamix special), kids hamburger, tuna tuna tuna, bib bim bap, (grapefruit dessert was sent back). Groupon coming soon. Shallow lack of depth desperate owner trying to break away economically from her hubby = passionless, shallow, food disaster.
Clarkston deserves better, not just food, but the genuine care employees deserve, this is coming from someone who has eaten at other Clarkston restaurants hundreds of times. read more
