Fancy Caesar Salad with salmon added
Kaylee L.

I love eating here! The atmosphere is pretty, and there are so many intricate details in the decorations down to even the plates. I've never had anything I don't like, but my favorite is the smoked salmon toast with a side of truffle potatoes. There is a generous portion of salmon on the toast, and the potatoes are crispy and seasoned well. My only complaint is that sometimes it can get difficult to hear/talk to friends if you're dining in the basement when there's live music.

The food, decor, and staff are absolutely amazing. This is one of the best espresso martinis I've ever had. I cannot wait to go back and try their new specials

Overpriced brunch with uncomfortable seating. Festive decorations upstairs and downstairs. Friendly server. $18 for classic breakfast - eggs, bacon, potatoes, toast. IMO $1.50 jam should come with this entree. $10 Bloody Mary was ok - was warm when I got it and took a few minutes for it to chill with the ice. I tried my friend's gravy - it was good. Cute bathroom.

This is becoming one of my favorite brunch places for smaller groups. It is so cute and the food is delicious. The servers are very kind and respectful. They do a great job with everything and I love bringing people here!

Loved the food, service and atmosphere! Cocktails creative. Unique ambiance in a renovated bank. Very trendy vibe. They even have a private dining room in the old bank vault. Highly recommend!

I got carry out, so I can't speak for my experience in store. However, from what I can tell, the environment and ambiance there is incredible. Very cozy, warm, and beautiful inside. I'll be back for dinner someday! The staff was very kind. Placing an order was very easy on the phone. I wanted a classic cheeseburger with fries, and for the price, quality, and taste, I was very happy. My friends ordered multiple things. They both got salads as starters, and the size was small. For the price, I was definitely expecting a lot more, so that was slightly disappointing. This was during the holiday time (November-December), so I can't find the items on the menu anymore, maybe it was a seasonal thing.

We got whitefish for our starter, would recommend. Short rib and mushroom pasta for main, would recommend. Our server had been there for years, was very efficient. The ambience is so nice. They especially do a good job for special occasions. We have come here 4/5 anniversaries and we will keep coming back. It's a hidden gem.

I highly recommend The Fed for a nice dinner! We went on a Wednesday night and made reservations and I'm glad we did because it was busy. Rotating menu, all farm to table and all tasty! We got the focaccia with hot butter, it was very good but not super oily like traditional focaccia. My husband got a makers mark on the rocks and the pasta alla pomodoro which was tasty with a little kick. I got the gnocchi saltado which was delightful, one of those meals you think about for months after. Our total bill was $93. Service was good but a tad slow. They had a live guitar player and singer but it was quiet enough to talk, beautiful and cozy place for a date night or a night out with your girlfriends.

I have to be honest with my review as always. We only sat in the bar downstairs for the band. We ordered french onion soup and the burger and fries. The French onion soup was just okay but very noticeably lacked cheese. The cheeseburger on the other hand was inedible. It was an absolute complete salt bomb. Now to the credit of the restaurant, they did take this off my bill but it was more than a half hour after I ordered it before anybody even came back to ask how our food was. The other issue I had is that we were there with another couple sitting in the lounge type area on the couch and 2 chairs. Our friends were on the couch and we were on the chairs. I picked up drinks for our friends and when we both got our bills we noticed they charged both of us for the same drinks, this to me was pretty shady. We pointed it out they fixed it but had we not been communicating well they would have double charged us for drinks. Be aware, if you order bourbon with a big cube, they will charge you and extra $4 for the ice. So my advice is to be very careful about your bill, and I can tell you the food we had was very underwhelming, If not inedible. Service was decent otherwise , the Managers were attentive about the issues and the band was great.

Steak was cold and RAW. Server was great but won't be back for a dinner... definitely a restaurant for someone looking for ambience over quality.

Just watched John Wick. It made me think of this place? Why?? Idk, maybe it was the car or the dog, or the manager... Didn't have to ask for the manager, really due to the fact I wasn't in need of a room, but we did eat in the vault so kind of like The Continental?? Oh, back to the food so my review doesn't get taken down, lol. GET THE BURGER! It's awesome, fries as well, wash it down with a Michigan craft beer or some vino. Service was great, ambiance wasn't so much John Wick as it was Ozzie and Harriet Will come back, then go on a crazy adventure with my dog and Mustang!!

Had a very nice brunch before the Lions game last Sunday. We had a reservation for 4 at 10:15. We arrived a bit early and the hostess explained there would be a slight wait to give the servers and kitchen enough time to provide a great experience. We completely understood and were happy to move to the bar to grab a cocktail. We ordered mimosas and beers and before we knew it, our table was ready. Our server was wonderful. She explained the history behind the restaurant and invited us to look around the space. It's beautifully decorated was very inviting. I ordered the breakfast croque madame pizza. It was delicious. Loved the rosemary flavor in the crust! My friend got the avocado toast. So beautiful. After our brunch we went downstairs to check it out. Such a beautiful space- perfect for a party. We agreed it was a great spot and would definitely come back.

My wife and I ate here after having a splendid breakfast many months ago we thought we would return for dinner. They sat us by the bar there was no one else in the restaurant not sure why we had to sit next to the bar. We had other customers standing at the bar with her faces with their butts in our faces There were so many other better seats I should've said something but I didn't. We ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms, which on the picture it showed seven when it showed up there were only five mushrooms. What was missing the most was crab meat it was a literally a bunch a shake on top of barely stuffed mushroom. Mostly fancy sauce and a ton of bread crumbs to hide the lack of crab....for $17! My wife ordered a sandwich which she enjoyed I think it was a Reuben made out of turkey and I ordered a signature Smash burger. We both ordered french fries that looked like they had been sitting in the basket most of the day because they were cold, and we're starting to shrink from sitting out. By the time we were done, my bill was $90 after tipping the waitress paying their 3% rip off fee. We both were expressing discontent as we left through the parking lot. It has been a while since I had breakfast there, which I never read them for and would've given them a five for that but this menu was not that menu.

I reviewed the menu before arriving and was a little concerned about the prices but it was worth every dollar. The only thing I would do different is arrive early and appreciate the structure and atmosphere. Really cool place. Really cool vibe. The only advice I would offer is the chairs. Waze was instrumental in finding this hidden gem as it's tucked behind a fairly blah stretch of Orchard Lake Road. Turn down what is basically a residential street and Sylvan Table appears like a rustic Phoenix! TS saw my eyes light up as I soaked it all in. The owners have moved an antique Maine barn to Sylvan Lake Michigan and created a beautiful (if a bit barren and cold in December) oasis. The inside is as inviting as the outside with a beautiful space buzzing with activity on a cold December night. A Roaring fireplace and beautiful Christmas decor set the stage for a wonderful evening. We were seated upstairs at a nice corner table and the super friendly server was there in a flash to take our drink order. I had my usual, Grey Goose Martini on the rocks with bco's, TS opted for a house Pinot Grigio. Both hit the spot taking the chill off and were delicious. Our server went over some specials, and the menu had a varied selection of great sounding entrees. We started with a charcuterie board with their own house made crackers, cheeses and meats including a decadent pate'. And as an added bonus we were brought a few roasted brussel sprouts with cranberry chutney, fantastic! For our main course TS opted for the pork chop with root vegetables and I had the roasted chicken with the same sides. Both were delicious and juicy being cooked over a wood fire! Now Sylvan Table is a farm to table restaurant which could be daunting on a long cold Michigan winter. And part of the farm must be on their 5 acres. I bet those root vegetables were picked and stored on site for use all winter just like an old timey farm. Ee ate like we hadca tip on a famine and washed it down with a big bold red. But there was still room for more. For dessert we split a slice of Buche Noel and some coffee. The dessert was a work of art. As we made our way out we realized we were the last ones there. So after a picture in front of the Christmas tree we were gone. All in a magical experience with food, service and ambiance that can't be beat. And the company, well that goes without saying! So try out ST before everyone finds out about it! Sylvan by name..sylvan by nature. Sylvan Table...Go!

I added the French onion soup for $11 and it was the perfect lunch. The soup was excellent, except there was way too much cheese! Half the bowl was cheese. I love that the flavor was there yet I had more broth than onions. Oddly enough, French onion soup is one of my favs, but I don't want to eat the onions! They have a great selection of coffee drinks. I got the iced sweet and salty with no vanilla syrup. It had a salted caramel cold foam atop of cold brew. I mixed it all up and had a deliciously creamy drink!

You may be wondering why we chose a restaurant about 60 miles away for our review this…read more month. The answer is simple, because its darn good. Mrs. She-Ate and I are excited to share our esteem for this place with you. I first became aware of The Laundry around 2014 when I was leading a series of professional development workshops with the Flint Community Schools. A good friend and colleague who lived in the area suggested we have dinner not too far south of Flint and my taste buds have been blown ever since. The quaint bedroom community of Fenton has been benefitting from not just good food and libations, but also the cultural hub that The Laundry has become. Having first opened over 25 years ago on a site that was a former laundromat, the restaurant is embedded as an anchor in the downtown development and as a stalwart in supporting community initiatives- public schools and art, libraries, charities, and the chamber of commerce. They are as proud of that work as they are the James Beard nominated chefs who grace their kitchen. When you visit the bistro, with its locally sourced ingredients and on-site vegetable garden and beehive, you immediately know you're in a place that takes their food seriously. Craft cocktails and scratch-made meals are a hallmark, and while you may have prolonged anticipation while somethings arrive at your table, they are often well worth the wait. My very first meal years ago at The Laundry was a pork shank Osso buco that is still one of the best plates in my life. They also offer a cheese spread know as Gorg Dip that continues to be a hit whenever I recreate it during the holidays- cream cheese, leek, bacon, apricot, gorgonzola. Trust me, these people know what they're doing with flavors. Oh, wait, I forgot to mention they also double the fun with a bakery as their sister company, Crust, and a coffee house, Side Door, which is quite literally the Side Door to the restaurant. The baked goods are phenomenal, and rumor has it that leftover pastries are captured for the next day's bread pudding- which again is some of the best I've ever had. What's Really Good My Much Better Half stole away for a midday excursion to Fenton and enjoyed a "late brunch" at the Laundry. The coffee is a prime example of an exercise in patience- super slow in the advent but spot on once we were able to sip the hot, frothy Nutty Professor ($6.25. This is an espresso-based drink with house made caramel and macadamia syrup. For a sweet starter, we shared Jeff's Pull Apart Bread ($5) which is a single loaf shaped monkey bread. Packed with sweet notes of caramel and cinnamon and then smothered with a house made cream cheese frosting. Near perfect. What's Superb I must make note of the friendly and knowledgeable service we received. We were made aware of potential delays in plates and drinks but were also never an afterthought as our server checked on us multiple times with a genuine joy you only find when people really like where they work. We were both highly impressed and that was before she told us about her FIFTY-SIX hours in labor last July as she and My Much Better Half traded birthing stories. On the food side, I was torn between two items and our server asked how hungry I was. She then encouraged me to order the #125 The Money Maker ($17) and I was very much enchanted. A grilled brioche bun holds a heaping mound of hot honey butter braised chicken that is topped with applewood smoked bacon and a house made pimento cheese spread. The meat was tender and the kick from the heat was remarkable but not overblown. The pimento cheese spread is so good it also belongs in a jar to be purchase on the way out. I also ordered the Roasted Potatoes($3.50) which were just okay, to be honest, but there was enough flavor in the sammie that it didn't matter much. Best Bite My dining mate is a lifelong pursuit of the perfect French Onion soup. She ordered the House made Soup and Sandwich ($25) and I think she got as close as possible. Not to be relegated to second billing was the Petite Croque Monsieur with layers of ham, Gruyère cheese, and a traditional croque sauce. Yet, the star of the show was the unctuous soup with broiled Gruyère and croutons and slivers of onion that have been carmelized and stewed in a succulent beef broth for longer than you or I would have patience for.
