Iv taken my little sister here a few times since it's her favorite place with games :) the atmosphere is amazing as well as service we went on a Friday so it was kind of busy. But our food came out at a decent time as well as our server did check on us as well! they do not have a physical gluten free menu but we did ask our server Cheyenne if they had any gluten free food & she gave us a good amount of items they have & can make gluten free! It wasn't too pricey so that's nice with everything going on in the world lol! I hope this helps anyone looking for a good place to eat & relax :)

I love the atmosphere at Mr. B's - I just wish the service was better. Our server was not very attentive during our visit. I ended up eating cold chili because she never came back to our table to see how we were doing. It appeared she was busy talking to a larger group of patrons as she probably saw a larger tip in her future from them. The kitchen takes forever also - we all ordered appetizers and it took nearly an hour for our food to come out. Unfortunately, this visit reminded me why I only come in once or twice a year.

The 2nd time was awful, they had a big party downstairs and basically had to apologize for ignoring the rest of the tables. I literally took forever to get food and service due to a large part downstairs but apparently it backed up the kitchen. Well, I had an AWFUL birthday dinner here last night. The server was awful, the food was awful, the experience was so sub par. Not a single person at our table enjoyed their experience. Starting off with a party of 5 being sat at a small round table for 4. The staff brought a bread basket and didn't even know where to put it...we had no room at all on the table squished in with 5 plates and glasses. We ordered the charcuterie board and it was so pathetic. 2 pieces of salami and what looked like olive loaf. After asking the server finally explained what everything was as when we asked for another piece or 2 of salami (because it truly was the only edible looking meat) he said he would have to charge us. We ran out of bread quickly and asked for another few pieces since we had a kid with us and service was taking forever. The waiter said sorry I'll have to charge you for that. Other than the French onion soup, I'm not sure anybody enjoyed their main dish. An Asian ham special that was cloyingly sweet, a pasta dish that wasn't great... We get a dessert menu and I'm so excited for a post dinner coffee! I order a salted caramel latte from the desert menu and am told they don't do lattes or cappuccinos at night? The machines are off. All we can do is a shot of espresso. Then why is it coffee on the dessert menu??? At this point we were over it. We left with no dessert on my birthday and went to Kroger and got a small cake. Do yourself a favor and go down a few doors down to Rudy's Prime for a good meal...

My wife and I ate here after having a splendid breakfast many months ago we thought we would return for dinner. They sat us by the bar there was no one else in the restaurant not sure why we had to sit next to the bar. We had other customers standing at the bar with her faces with their butts in our faces There were so many other better seats I should've said something but I didn't. We ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms, which on the picture it showed seven when it showed up there were only five mushrooms. What was missing the most was crab meat it was a literally a bunch a shake on top of barely stuffed mushroom. Mostly fancy sauce and a ton of bread crumbs to hide the lack of crab....for $17! My wife ordered a sandwich which she enjoyed I think it was a Reuben made out of turkey and I ordered a signature Smash burger. We both ordered french fries that looked like they had been sitting in the basket most of the day because they were cold, and we're starting to shrink from sitting out. By the time we were done, my bill was $90 after tipping the waitress paying their 3% rip off fee. We both were expressing discontent as we left through the parking lot. It has been a while since I had breakfast there, which I never read them for and would've given them a five for that but this menu was not that menu.

Waze was instrumental in finding this hidden gem as it's tucked behind a fairly blah stretch of Orchard Lake Road. Turn down what is basically a residential street and Sylvan Table appears like a rustic Phoenix! TS saw my eyes light up as I soaked it all in. The owners have moved an antique Maine barn to Sylvan Lake Michigan and created a beautiful (if a bit barren and cold in December) oasis. The inside is as inviting as the outside with a beautiful space buzzing with activity on a cold December night. A Roaring fireplace and beautiful Christmas decor set the stage for a wonderful evening. We were seated upstairs at a nice corner table and the super friendly server was there in a flash to take our drink order. I had my usual, Grey Goose Martini on the rocks with bco's, TS opted for a house Pinot Grigio. Both hit the spot taking the chill off and were delicious. Our server went over some specials, and the menu had a varied selection of great sounding entrees. We started with a charcuterie board with their own house made crackers, cheeses and meats including a decadent pate'. And as an added bonus we were brought a few roasted brussel sprouts with cranberry chutney, fantastic! For our main course TS opted for the pork chop with root vegetables and I had the roasted chicken with the same sides. Both were delicious and juicy being cooked over a wood fire! Now Sylvan Table is a farm to table restaurant which could be daunting on a long cold Michigan winter. And part of the farm must be on their 5 acres. I bet those root vegetables were picked and stored on site for use all winter just like an old timey farm. Ee ate like we hadca tip on a famine and washed it down with a big bold red. But there was still room for more. For dessert we split a slice of Buche Noel and some coffee. The dessert was a work of art. As we made our way out we realized we were the last ones there. So after a picture in front of the Christmas tree we were gone. All in a magical experience with food, service and ambiance that can't be beat. And the company, well that goes without saying! So try out ST before everyone finds out about it! Sylvan by name..sylvan by nature. Sylvan Table...Go!

You may be wondering why we chose a restaurant about 60 miles away for our review this…read more month. The answer is simple, because its darn good. Mrs. She-Ate and I are excited to share our esteem for this place with you. I first became aware of The Laundry around 2014 when I was leading a series of professional development workshops with the Flint Community Schools. A good friend and colleague who lived in the area suggested we have dinner not too far south of Flint and my taste buds have been blown ever since. The quaint bedroom community of Fenton has been benefitting from not just good food and libations, but also the cultural hub that The Laundry has become. Having first opened over 25 years ago on a site that was a former laundromat, the restaurant is embedded as an anchor in the downtown development and as a stalwart in supporting community initiatives- public schools and art, libraries, charities, and the chamber of commerce. They are as proud of that work as they are the James Beard nominated chefs who grace their kitchen. When you visit the bistro, with its locally sourced ingredients and on-site vegetable garden and beehive, you immediately know you're in a place that takes their food seriously. Craft cocktails and scratch-made meals are a hallmark, and while you may have prolonged anticipation while somethings arrive at your table, they are often well worth the wait. My very first meal years ago at The Laundry was a pork shank Osso buco that is still one of the best plates in my life. They also offer a cheese spread know as Gorg Dip that continues to be a hit whenever I recreate it during the holidays- cream cheese, leek, bacon, apricot, gorgonzola. Trust me, these people know what they're doing with flavors. Oh, wait, I forgot to mention they also double the fun with a bakery as their sister company, Crust, and a coffee house, Side Door, which is quite literally the Side Door to the restaurant. The baked goods are phenomenal, and rumor has it that leftover pastries are captured for the next day's bread pudding- which again is some of the best I've ever had. What's Really Good My Much Better Half stole away for a midday excursion to Fenton and enjoyed a "late brunch" at the Laundry. The coffee is a prime example of an exercise in patience- super slow in the advent but spot on once we were able to sip the hot, frothy Nutty Professor ($6.25. This is an espresso-based drink with house made caramel and macadamia syrup. For a sweet starter, we shared Jeff's Pull Apart Bread ($5) which is a single loaf shaped monkey bread. Packed with sweet notes of caramel and cinnamon and then smothered with a house made cream cheese frosting. Near perfect. What's Superb I must make note of the friendly and knowledgeable service we received. We were made aware of potential delays in plates and drinks but were also never an afterthought as our server checked on us multiple times with a genuine joy you only find when people really like where they work. We were both highly impressed and that was before she told us about her FIFTY-SIX hours in labor last July as she and My Much Better Half traded birthing stories. On the food side, I was torn between two items and our server asked how hungry I was. She then encouraged me to order the #125 The Money Maker ($17) and I was very much enchanted. A grilled brioche bun holds a heaping mound of hot honey butter braised chicken that is topped with applewood smoked bacon and a house made pimento cheese spread. The meat was tender and the kick from the heat was remarkable but not overblown. The pimento cheese spread is so good it also belongs in a jar to be purchase on the way out. I also ordered the Roasted Potatoes($3.50) which were just okay, to be honest, but there was enough flavor in the sammie that it didn't matter much. Best Bite My dining mate is a lifelong pursuit of the perfect French Onion soup. She ordered the House made Soup and Sandwich ($25) and I think she got as close as possible. Not to be relegated to second billing was the Petite Croque Monsieur with layers of ham, Gruyère cheese, and a traditional croque sauce. Yet, the star of the show was the unctuous soup with broiled Gruyère and croutons and slivers of onion that have been carmelized and stewed in a succulent beef broth for longer than you or I would have patience for.
