Most recently Java gave birth to adorable chocolate lab puppies. Elsa, an 11-month old white lab from Gwen and Gus' recent litter was also there with her father. Megan and Jeff own the farm and give farm tours after yoga to see the chickens and goats. Yoga is run by Victory Power Yoga. All classes are outside so dress accordingly. They provide yoga mats. I recommend bringing a towel. If you bring a water bottle or purse they have tables set up to place your items. I did not realize it at first and set my things next to the mat. The puppies loved to play with my purse and water bottle. They have an indoor bathroom and shop (Puptique). The yoga class was excellent. Appropriate for all ages and skill levels. The class was run well even with all the distracting puppies running around. Surprisingly I was still able to relax and stretch while playing with the dogs. Ample time was available before and after to play and take pictures. Parking is available on the lawn out front. There was ample spaces and room to pull in and out (plus a turn around area if needed). Overall, we had a lovely morning here. I highly recommend checking them out!

Awesome set design and experience. Very fun for two adults and two teenagers…read more We bought the fast-pass and it was well worth it. Bring cash for parking, t-shirt, and drinks. The main attraction is a mile long walk through multiple themed houses. The actors are believable, intimidating, and hide in all the right places. Jump scares are guaranteed. The path is very uneven, music can be very loud, and groups of people get clustered together. We saw young kids crying. I would rate this experience PG13.

We intentionally wanted to go to Darkside Haunted Estates because it was more "off the beaten path" and given how many people have moved to the Raleigh area since last year, we wanted to get away from the hordes of people. We purchased our tickets for October 25th. Yes, we purchased tickets WEEKS in advance to make sure we would be able to attend just in case there was a lot of demand for October 25th. We were so excited to come that we brought two other couples with us, all of whom bought their tickets in advance. We drove an hour to get there and were greeted by a line of cars a quarter of a mile long. Whatever, right? It's the week before Halloween, there's some demand. Cool. Well we finally inch our way to the parking lot entrance and the attendant tells us "we're closed for now, we don't have any parking available, so you can drive around for thirty minutes or try to come back another night." I'M SORRY, WHAT? We bought tickets to guarantee our spot on the 25th. We told her we want a refund and we got an email address to contact them. They're only open from 7pm-10pm. It was 8:45pm, and once we got back in line we'd be behind at least 50 other cars lined up on a dark two-lane road. There's no way we're making it back to the front of the line by 9:15, and the event ends at 10pm. We contemplated going back the next weekend but given that it's an hour out of the way, it's not exactly the place you can just pop into on your way home from work. We decided to get a refund given that we did not receive the access on the 25th we paid for. We emailed them. They're now dodging our emails and not responding. We paid for two tickets plus the quick pass for a total of $37 per person, and these shysters don't have the integrity to respond to emails and refund customers for products and services they didn't receive. We'll be contacting the NC Consumer Protection division of the NC Attorney General and filing a dispute with our credit card company. This company was greedy, oversold their tickets to maximize their profits, and now they refuse to own their mistake and issue refunds. It's just going to get worse next year once another 20,000 people move here by next Halloween. Avoid this location. You've been warned.

The friendly/knowledgeable worker walked us in the lamb pen - clearly explained the rules then gave us some food and the friendly lambs came over for lots of snuggles. When done with the snuggles we could go explore. First we went to the clean restroom to wash, then headed over to the other side of the pond to pet the goats. There were also bunnies, chickens a donkey and a mule. You can buy local beer, wine and drinks, walk through the gift shop and pick and eat berries. They also have live music- check the website.

The farm also has sheep, chickens, bunnies, donkey, mule, gift shop, seating areas, air conditioned restrooms, handwashing stations, and a pond. We had a lovely experience at Old Mill Farm recently. It was a much needed peaceful retreat and return to nature. We could have spent all weekend just relaxing on the deck watching the animals and snacking on fresh blackberries. We arrived a little late for our lamb snuggle session, however, the employee who greeted us was so understanding and welcoming. She introduced us to the lambs, clearly stated the rules, and answered all of our farm questions. After feeding and petting the adorable sheep for 45 minutes, we explored the rest of the farm. We washed our hands, walked around the pond, pet the goats, perused the gift shop, and visited the chickens, sheep, donkey, mule, bunnies, and vineyards. The fresh blackberries in the vineyard were large, refreshing, and delicious. At that point we were soaked in sweat and decided to wash our hands and head out. We did play all four "carnival" games before leaving. Local: we appreciate their emphasis on supporting other local businesses in what they offer at the bar and in the gift shop. Food/drink: Bar stocked with local beer, mead, wine, cider, and non-alcoholic options. No restaurant on site but they sometimes have a food truck. Customer service: I forgot her name, but the farmer leading our group was incredible. She was so welcoming, patient, and passionate about the farm animals. Parking: large, labelled dirt parking lot near the donkey and mule enclosure. Reservations: needed on specific days/times/events. The website lists when reservations are needed. Price: check the website for free visit days/times. Some events do have a cost. Lamb snuggling was $10/person (for 5 people) and included food for the lambs and a self-guided tour of the farm. It was definitely worth the price.

Masks are required to be worn while on the property. I was lucky enough to get an afternoon tour slot on a Saturday. Our tour started with receiving some hand sanitizer. The tour guide was very welcoming and explained the two types of alpaca fleece, Huacaya and Suri and we were shown examples of the fluffier type and the dread lock type. We were also given an overview of the farm and some guidelines before we headed out to see the animals. We were told about what is needed to keep the animals healthy from the teeth and toenail clipping to shearing and vaccinations and their diets and the differences between llamas and alpacas. It was very educational and there were posters along the fences. I liked that the alpacas were not forced to interact with us. Some did approach us though. I could tell how well the animals well were cared for too. The alpaca genders are separated and the males as the genders have a different demeanor. We were given plenty of time to take photos as well as ask questions. At the end of the tour we were to wash our hands then could browse the gift shop where some of the items were made with the farm's alpaca fleece. There were scarfs; gloves; socks; soap; jewelry; books; yarn among other items. This was a very enjoyable outing and I highly recommend a tour if you are able to get on the schedule.

The sampler has wings, pimento cheese balls, soul rolls and southern style deviled eggs. The wings had a good flavor to them very traditional bbq style taste, the cheese balls were right up my alley crunchy outside and gooey on the inside. My first time trying deviled eggs I can say they were actually pleasant. The soul roll had this good taste with a subtle head to it just to spice it up. Overall really enjoyable apps. With so many options to choose from we all ended up getting the Double combo. I had Brisket and bbq chicken with Mac n cheese, brussel sprouts and. Sweet potatoe casserole. The chicken was the only piece lacking in comparison to the others. The brisket was very solid, very good enough to order again. The sides however were amazing. The Mac and cheese had such a good taste to it, the brussel sprouts had a blend with bacon bits and something glazed on them that was perfect and the sweet potatoes was another great side addition to the rest. Service was great our waiter gave us suggestions and was very patient with us and even gave us some small servings on the house. Very great time in a place you should visit
