My review is with the Optical Department only. Today I was banned from the optical department…read morebecause after 4 tries they can't get me lenses without scratches. It's amazing I can see them but they can't. I have been a patient of Clayton Eye Center for over 33 years. But now that the founder Dr. Smick has retired and the optical department has been outsourced, the service is not like it used to be. They changed the frame supplier and the selection now is overpriced crap. So being banned may just be a good thing. I will still see the doctor for my yearly eye exam but will get my glasses somewhere else. Dr. New took over Dr. Smick's patients when he retired and I really like him.

A few months after having cataract surgery I began having blurriness in an eye that previously had…read moreno blurriness. I made an appointment and explained that I wanted that eye looked at as well as having refraction done so I could have an up-to-date prescription and get glasses. I was told that they would decide what I needed! I was told that I would be scheduled for an annual eye exam. I said that I was not due for one four months. I came for the appointment and was told I had scar tissue behind that right eye and would need to come back in 6 months to decide what to do. I got a refraction and left. One month later my insurance denied my claim because the visit was coded as vision and not medical. The bill is $390!!!!! I could have gone anywhere and gotten a refraction for $45 if that was the only problem. I tried to get the billing department to fix the claim but they refuse. So today I called my insurance and they are filing a complaint. Look at all the complaints people! I wish I had.

Overall, my experience was just okay…read more I did appreciate the pace of the exam it felt efficient and not rushed, which I liked. However, the overall customer service left a lot to be desired. Maybe it was just an off day, but no one seemed very engaged or excited to help me. I understand working on a Saturday isn't always ideal, but as a patient, you can definitely feel the difference in energy. After my exam, I was told I could browse the glasses if I was interested, so I went over specifically looking for the Meta frames. I spent about 30 minutes trying on and looking at options, and not once did anyone approach me to offer help or guidance. As a first-time visitor, I wasn't sure what the process was, and the lack of assistance was frustrating. I was genuinely interested in purchasing a pair, but the experience made me feel like I'd rather spend my money somewhere else.

Came in for a regular eye exam and the one lady at the front was already in a bad mood like she…read moredidn't want to be there. Was very unresponsive and dismissive throughout the exam, so when I couldn't understand what she was (barely) saying, she just kept sighing and made me redo the snapshots of my eye over and over again. The prescription itself was way too strong. I've gotten new glasses every year elsewhere just fine, but when I got them from here, I had constant eye strain and headaches for several weeks, which the staff told me "to just get used to it". Not returning...

I am shocked to see such low stars, because we had the best and easiest experience here at Stanton…read moreOptical!! I made an appointment and even though we were running behind, they had no problem adjusting our time. We waited for no more than 5 minutes before they called us back. They didn't have to dilate my boyfriend's eyes, which was a nice surprise and they had staff and a virtual optician speak Spanish to my Spanish speaking partner. It was a great deal at $79 and I honestly thought the price was too good to be true since it includes the price of two frames. I will say that (as to be expected) the selection of 2 for $79 frames was limited, but we were able to pick out two. The glasses came in within a week and customer service was great start to finish. I'd recommend them to anyone!

This place is a scam, they use the promotion of 2 for $79.99 to get people in the door. You get the…read moreand they have a wall of 500 glasses for women and they have a color coded table that range from $79 to $229 but have no Real name brands. Out of the 500 there were literally only 6 pairs to choose from that were $79. If this is what you promote you should have more to choose from. Once people are there you know they aren't going to leave. Then I asked how much to just put my prescription in my old frames and she told me over $230!!!! Don't waste your time go to a reputable eye place and get some glasses you really want.
