He told her there was "nothing wrong" and instructed her to stop seeing other eye doctors and just go back to her primary care physician. The dismissiveness. The implication that she was imagining it. When an elderly patient expresses ongoing discomfort that has lasted for years, the bare minimum expectation is compassion and curiosity, not condescension. One visit with Dr. Harris and I felt 100% relaxed and confident that I was going to be fine. He actually takes time answering your questions and does not chive you the same acknowledgment for everything. He handles each concern individually. I moved my records to his office after my second visit. He is now my official Eye Care Specialist. His degrees are from Ivy League schools and his patient concern is beyond Ivy League. I walked away as if I knew exactly where to go. I did find the appointment lady, however. It's not that I haven't been treated rudely before. It was the confidence by which she did it.
