My goal was to grow out my short bob, and she gave me that without having to come in every 6 weeks for maintenance. I will be going back to Amber when I'm ready for another hair service. Pricing is about what you would expect for a higher end experience with corrective color. Salon itself is clean and i love the vintage dressers at the stations. So freaking cute! The owner is super responsive and was the one who recommended I see Amber, so huge thanks for that! Highly recommend overall.

This review is for Brooke Congalves:…read more I'm new to the area and had been searching for a new hairstylist, which can honestly be nerve-racking when you've been searching from someone you can trust with your hair for years. I don't have access to social media, so I ended up finding Brooke through Yelp and I am SO happy I did! I reached out to her by text and she responded almost immediately. Before my appointment, I sent her a photo of my current hair along with a few inspiration pictures of what I was hoping to achieve. Right from the beginning, communication was easy and I felt like she understood what I was looking for. The salon itself is adorable clean, welcoming, and has a really cute modern feel. When I met Brooke, she took the time to actually look at my hair and talk with me about my goals. One of the most important things to me is keeping my hair healthy because I'm trying to grow it long which has taken some time. She was very upfront that getting exactly where I ultimately want to be would be a process, and I REALLY appreciated that instead of trying to do too much in one appointment. She respected the integrity and health of my hair while still getting me incredibly close to my inspiration photos. Brooke was also just genuinely nice and easy to talk to. The entire appointment was comfortable, relax and I was in and out in about three hours, which was another huge plus. She's also only about a 15-minute drive from my house, so finding someone this close who I actually trust with my hair feels like hitting the jackpot! Her pricing was very affordable, but to be completely honest, the quality of her work was beyond! If you're looking for someone who listens to what you want, is realistic about the process, cares about maintaining the health and integrity of your hair, and can actually deliver what you show her in an inspiration photo, go see Brooke. So happy I found MY new stylist. 10/10. Absolutely recommend!

Between postpartum shedding and not stepping foot in a salon for years, I was honestly nervous about trusting someone with my hair. I spent a lot of time reading reviews before booking with Expert Hair Care by Ayeshia in Temecula, and I'm so glad I decided to experience it for myself. From the moment I arrived, Ayeshia greeted me before I even walked through the door, and I immediately felt welcomed. That level of hospitality continued throughout my entire appointment. She made sure I was comfortable, had snacks available, checked in on me throughout the service, and created such a relaxing environment. It never felt rushed, and I truly felt like she cared about me, not just my appointment. I have 3C hair, and she gave me a thorough wash, protein treatment, steam treatment, trim, and style. What stood out most was how much she prioritizes healthy hair. She carefully assessed both my hair and scalp, explained exactly what they needed, answered my questions, and gave thoughtful, personalized recommendations. I never felt like she was being pushy or trying to sell me services. Instead, I felt like I was receiving honest advice from someone who genuinely wants her clients' hair to thrive. I've also seen Ayeshia's work on other women, especially her K-tip extension installations, and they are absolutely beautiful. The blends are so seamless that you genuinely cannot tell where their natural hair ends and the extensions begin. The transformations are flawless, and seeing that level of work only confirmed that I was in the right chair. Like a lot of people, I read the reviews before booking. I even read the lower-rated ones. After experiencing Ayeshia's service for myself, I'd simply encourage people to form their own opinion because my experience was exceptional from beginning to end. Every situation is different, but I can honestly say she exceeded my expectations. Leaving the salon with healthy, refreshed hair made me feel like myself again. As a postpartum mom, that meant more than I can express. Sometimes it's about so much more than just getting your hair done. It's about walking out feeling confident, refreshed, and cared for. If you're looking for someone who is professional, knowledgeable, genuinely invested in healthy hair, experienced with textured hair, and provides outstanding customer service, I wholeheartedly recommend Expert Hair Care by Ayeshia. I've absolutely found my hairstylist, and I'm already looking forward to my next appointment. Thank you, Ayeshia, for taking such incredible care of my hair and making me feel so welcomed. It was exactly the experience I needed.

My trial went flawlessly, and Leah made me feel so unbelievably comfortable right from the start (she is also a perfectionist - which is something you will appreciate on your wedding day). I can honestly say that her and her co-worker, Brittany, were one of the biggest reasons my wedding day was as special as it was. Not only did they make us LOOK beautiful, but they made us FEEL beautiful. My advice for brides-to-be is DO NOT SKIMP ON THIS SERVICE! Leah and her team are more than worth the cost (also, splurge and get the airbrush, it's amazing). Even before the day of, Leah was such a huge support and I don't know how many times she talked me off the ledge or out of my stress (which wasn't even her responsibility) about the wedding. I had been turned away before, and I had also gone to stylists who took me on but clearly did not really know how to handle color correction. So I was nervous to trust someone again. Kelsey was completely different from the beginning. Even before my appointment, she asked for photos, looked at my inspo, explained what would be realistic, gave me a clear estimate, and actually walked me through the plan. She was honest but never made me feel discouraged or like my hair was too much work. During the appointment, she knew exactly what she was doing. She did a color remover, high-lift color, toner, and haircut with no bleach, and got me so close to what I wanted, honestly even better. I was hoping for a positive experience at Salon MK with Giselle Q, but I left very disappointed…read more The photos clearly speak for themselves but here's what happened-- When I first reached out to Salon MK in June, I was connected with Giselle and specifically requested a light brown, neutral balayage. We booked a balayage ($280) and a haircut ($85). I sent photos of my hair and several reference photos. During the appointment, she explained that balayage is essentially highlights, which made me a bit nervous, as I understand it to be more of a blended, ombré-style look. Still, I trusted her professional judgment. Unfortunately, the final result looked nothing like my reference photos..... The highlights leaned much more yellow and brown rather than the neutral tones I had requested, and they were also uneven, with some highlight sections noticeably thicker than others. The haircut itself was uneven, and the top layers were longer than the bottom section. She offered to fix it, which I appreciated, but by that point I already felt uneasy. I decided to give her a second chance since she was willing to fix the uneven haircut, so I went back in October for an all-over color before an important work event. I was very clear and specific about what I wanted and provided several reference photos beforehand- a dark, natural brown with subtle purple/reddish undertones. I explicitly asked to avoid black, copper, blonde, vivid red or purple tones, and NO highlights. We discussed this thoroughly, and I even said that if there was any hesitation, I'd prefer to play it safe with a darker brown balayage instead. Giselle reassured me she could achieve the color....... Unfortunately, the result was again nothing close to what I requested. My hair turned out coppery brown/red and still showed highlights, which I had specifically asked to avoid. I felt embarrassed going to my event with it. When I reached out the next day with photos, I was told that the custom conditioner I purchased should temporarily fix the issue. This was frustrating, as a conditioner with very minimal pigmentation shouldn't be relied on to correct a $165 color service, especially after I left a 20+% tip out of kindness. Overall, the results did not align at all with what we discussed or the reference photos I provided. My concerns weren't resolved, and I ultimately had to attempt to fix my hair myself before the event. Everyone's experience is different, but I wanted to share mine so others can make the decision that feels right for them and choose a stylist they feel 1000% confident with.
