Rose @ Hair Studio Live…read more Ok so here is my review about a haircut I got in Temecula; at a sweet spot called Hair Studio Live; by a talented gal named Rose. Buckle up. So boom! It's early March, I left DC for a quick getaway to visit my buddy Jason in San Diego and play some rounds of golf. This year's winter was extended and I was excited to finally come out of the DC winter hibernation. The weather was still chilly when I left so I was bundled up. In San Diego we played a round of golf in Encinitas and Jason decides we should pick up Ryan in Escondido, swing through Palm Springs for some desert golf and then hit Vegas and come back. I work for home and all winter I was hiding under hoodies, beanies and NorthFace. To say I looked like a distant cousin of the Geico caveman was not far removed from the truth. I told Jason; dude, I cant go to Vegas like this, I need to get my grooming locked in. I said I need a haircut, bad! Jason shaves his head so he had no hook up and suggested we grab Ryan and along the way and he may have a suggestion, if not, SuperCutz it is. I hit up Ryan and asked if he had a suggestion for a barber around his spot, towards Vegas and he said yes and gave me the number to the salon and said ask for Rose. I spoke to Rose and she was able to fit me in for a quick cut the next day. We packed up and headed towards Escondido, grabbed Ryan and swung by Rose's spot. Rose was super professional and nice. She greeted us, took me to her station and after some niceties, she asked what I wanted. I pulled off the beanie and kept my eyes on hers to see if she'd flinch. Rose did not judge me when the DC winter beanie came off and a mix of unkempt graying mane and pretty obvious signs of male balding patterns met her. She looked around my hair and asked what I wanted. I said a miracle. She said she's a stylist not a sorcerer. Fair enough, I said I want to leave the top a little longer to assist in the comb over, but I want the sides short, especially around the ears. But not skin fade! Also I want a little bit longer in the back so that my nape is not exposed fully. Imagine, very well groomed and blended, short kept mullet. Rose said that's not a problem and she offered to wash my hair even tho I had showered the night before. She got to working her magic. We talked a bit and she was really nice! She learned about the San Diego visit, and the little trip we had in plan, and I felt her work expeditiously but not rushed. I really enjoyed enjoyed her personality, professionalism, and skilled execution. She used scissors which my barber back home only finishes off with. I could tell I was in the hands of a professional, mostly scissor cut and a few brushing of the clipper. There was cool music playing and the place looked nice. I was stoked to have Rose do the work; as guys know, getting hair cut in the wild is a dice roll! A few years back I was in Brooklyn and asked for a haircut from a barber and let's just say I could have dropped the hottest Reggaeton album of the year. Bro, the Dominican gal, she gave me skin fade with pointy sideburns that could have connected to a thin chin strap beard. Nah... I was cooked. It was the type of haircut that would require skipping a day of school. No shade. Just a miscommunication I guess? Rose was stylish and she got it, she was locked in and did her thing. When the cut was done I felt cute as fuhhh -I almost uploaded a selfie to my IG. She cleaned me up, shaved the strays on my neck and sent me on my way. I for sure thought I was gonna feel a dent in my wallet, but surprisingly not. Thank you Rose! Vegas was for sure gonna be a movie! I'm Jake and I approve this endorsement. Ask for Rose and tell her caveman Jake sent ya. She might remember the chaos she had to organize.

I've been dealing with thinning hair from stress and early pre-menopause, and it's really taken a toll on my hair and confidence. I was curious but also a little nervous going in... and then I felt nothing. Zero pain. It literally felt like a gentle scalp massage with light vibration--so relaxing that it felt more like self-care than a treatment. The process was fast, easy, and I went right on with my day like nothing happened. No downtime at all. This is new hair technology, completely non-invasive, and such an easy yes compared to anything surgical or scary. Rosey recommends a series of 3 treatments, with an annual maintenance treatment for optimal results, which feels totally doable--especially since it's painless. I loved it so much that my husband had the treatment done too. I'm really excited to see my results and can't wait to come back and update this review once my hair starts growing in. If this works the way the research says it does, I honestly don't know why anyone would ever choose hair transplants again. Rosey is incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely cares, and is always ahead of the game. Highly recommend.

It's sad to say that I just had a baby and wanted change for my hair. I haven't done any color in my hair more than 10 years. I had past my shoulders of hair and maybe have done perms but every 4-5 months. I came across this profile of this "hairstylist" and thought it would be a great change seeing all the short pixie and colored that is advertised on her profile, along with the "confidence spiel". I had booked with her Tuesday and sent pictures, had a phone appointment to talk about what I wanted, short either platinum or pink pixie. Sent photos as well. Waited until Thursday to get the confirmation which I had to message her to make sure then she called me to go over what I wanted. I asked multiple times if it would work with my hair and her reply was "yes--". Super confident about it too. (My appt was Friday at 9:15. I put down a $175 deposit.) when I got there I was questioned on what I wanted out of this and what I expect of her. Which I already talked about on the phone but still repeated myself again. After I asked if she can do it with my hair and still proceeded. She cut my hair and bleached it, I wanted a longer pixie and ended up wanting to do a pink. So she left me under bleach for 30 mins and when I got back rinsed me out put more bleached and then rinsed it out and added the pink. In the plastic cover the pink looked like exactly what I wanted..... BUT it came out looking clown like, I still proceeded to be positive since she preach about that. She started styling my hair not even like the pictures, I felt uncomfortable but still thought I knew what she was doing, I could see she looked confused in her own work of (20 years of experience) lol but still thought she knew what she's doing since she's a specialist in pixie cuts, then she said your quite I feel like you have a lot of questions, after I was already styled she continued to get the right side of my hair curl it with the small curling iron, so I asked her- I'm confused what's going on are you straightening my hair? She said with some tone I'm curling it. I got quiet but still was like in shock about it, then she was like yeah your hair is thick. After she already saw the hair I came with.... LOL this is why I asked before hand if she could do the job. Mind you I am mixed I don't have super 4c hair. I told her okay what can you do? She said we have to perm it but not today and I'm like okay??? Then she was playing in my hair and changed her mind and said I can do it, I told her then if she can get the pink the color I wanted because I was so confused what was going on and she honestly was confused as well but didn't want to tell me she couldn't do it ( I would of preferred the honesty then at that moment that hey actually I can't do it and messed up your hair but she continued to try to be confident that she can do it) and she told me I thought you wanted two pinks and I never decided that, it was literally the opposite pink of the picture. She ended up doing a perm on my hair quick then telling me the color pink would come out and we will re add it in. I told her I'm okay with the blonde color since it was already going bad and she said the pink can be added in again and darker... after I waited it seemed like we were on the right page and then she washed out the pink and it was the same again.. she ended up saying we needed to cut it shorter. Here's where I knew my hair was messed up and I was getting uncomfortable knowing at this point 4 pm it was already done. She cut it more and styled it. I felt literally like she was practicing in my hair. I paid & bought product. Still was confused on the color and now the cut. I didn't know what else to say. She said she could get the color pink in my hair the next day so we planned that. When I left I was crying in the car because my hair was a mess!!! When I got home I was talking to family and it was so bad I had to phone a real hairstylist, she told me not to go back, I went to message "Nicole" to see if she could get my hair the color and she said "all I can do is try". That's all I needed to know that my hair was ruined. I messaged her that same night and have the messages so whoever decides to go here can double check ALL her reviews first. I also asked for a refund because after I went to a real hairstylist I found out the cut was uneven and my hair was completely damaged. She said she could give me just my deposit back and never did. Instead decided to post a message to her clients on her profile. All I can say is my hair is damaged and will take months to grow and all she can carry is the time she took to ruin it and the time she wasted. False advertisement to her clients... Also can't put the messages in order but I had black hair and here are the after pictures :(
